It's a shame children live in communities where there is housing, schools and playgrounds and they become a bottom priority. The community should count their lucky stars for you two volunteering to come and clean this mess up. Good on you two for such a good job!

Great job guys, that was more than one years neglect. I personally would have condemed that play area just on the moss alone. Vast improvement and I hope just on the clean alone, that they tried to get the area recertified.
Shovels Have a larger, curved blade that's better for scooping and moving loose materials like dirt, gravel, snow, or grain. Shovels can also be used to dig shallow holes. Traditional shovels have a pointed edge, but square shovel blades are also common for scooping from hard surfaces. Long-handled shovels can provide better grip and hold. Spades Have a smaller, flat or shallow blade with a sharp edge that's better for cutting through compacted soil or creating precise holes. Spades can also be used to dig straight-edged trenches, slice and lift sod, and edge flower beds or lawns. The blade's rear end is threaded, and the foot platforms are curved to allow for more force to be applied when cutting and breaking ground.
Spades: sharper and flatter and intended to be used for precise hole digging or cutting through compacted soil Shovel: more concave with a deep bowl more designed for shallow holes and moving/spreading dirt/soil/etc. So one is for transporting and digging shallow holes and the other is intended for harder dirt and digging deeper holes. Both are tools for digging holes but they each have their different purposes. Odds are you'd use a spade to break up the dirt for a large deep hole then use a shovel to hoist the dirt out of the hole.
What a transformation!!! I didn’t expect it to turn out as well as it did because of the ground surface you were working with, but it came out so beautifully!!! Bravo!!!
Absolutely incredible undertaking. I would have been too overwhelmed and gone into a depression. Great editing as well. I liked how you bounced back and forth with the pressure washing. Made it more interesting. I bet the neighborhood was ecstatic over your hard work. We are truly impressed. 🎉👌👏
A Spade is a shovel but of a specific type. It is curved to a point just like the suit of spades in a deck of cards. A shovel is any tool that is flat meant to dig. A flat shovel is one with a flat blunt end and is used to scrape along a flat surface. A spade shovel is used to spear into dirt or other deep substance in order to make a hole. You don't use a flat shovel to make a hole and you sure as hell won't scrape a flat surface efficiently with a curved spade.
A shovel has a smaller angle to the shaft, and typically there are also edges on the sides of the face. In addition, they often also have a larger surface. A spade, on the other hand, is typically straighter so that it can go through the soil better. A spade is therefore ideal for digging, whereas a shovel is suitable for moving snow or soil.
Oh, guys BRAVO on such a good job!! I'm an artist and love the idea of the color added to really make the yard come POP !! The school and community are better off for your attention to this detail as I'm sure the kids love it, too! My hats off to you!
Shovel: Curved blade, designed for scooping and moving large quantities of material like soil or rocks. Spade: Flat blade, shorter, used for precision cutting and digging.
The shovel is foot powered and a Spade is a hand tool mainly for garden beds. The shovel comes in 4 different types from the flat head (you're using in this video) to one that can be used the ripe up shingles off the roof.
A shovel was created by a farmer. It is the same width & depth as a barn gutter. Put the tool in, and shove. A spade is a tool for digging. The word “spade”, actually means “to dig”. The obvious difference is see. In the blade end; flat & pointed.
Shovels Have a curved or pointed blade that's good for lifting and moving loose materials like dirt, gravel, snow, or compost. Shovels are also ideal for digging shallow holes. Spades Have a flatter, rectangular, or square blade that's designed for cutting and sectioning off soil. Spades are better for digging straight-edged holes or trenches, cutting through compacted soil, slicing and lifting sod, and edging flower beds or lawns.
What a beautiful thing to do. It looks so beautiful. I wish your business all the success in the world because people who are as loving and compassionate as you deserve it.
Call a spade a spade. It looks like one from playing cards. The pointy part is good for making deep. A shovel is like what you used here, flat front and good for scooping and shove-eling stuff.
Dont blame yall for only doing partial amount, was alot to do there. Pulling them bushes off of it on side rather than just pushing more dirt on it and cleanibg the wood getting moss of the other things probably take another days worth, atleast its presentable, nice job. More than many people would do.
A shovel is ideal for moving dirt or digging shallow holes, while a spade is better suited for cutting through compacted soil or creating precise holes . The shovel has a pointed edge and a spade has a flat edge.
It's opposite, the spade is arrow shaped for digging holes or cutting straight down into dirt like around a bush that you might want to remove, a shovel is flat and used for 'scooping'. You had a small shovel for the scraping bit.
That's how I learned it too but after I googled it , it proved me wrong. OR it could just be the guy who did the Info on Google has in mind that that is the gods truth. I'm 72 and I still say the spade is pointed like spades in card games. Lol
This playground has been very neglected! I would not want any of my Grandchildren to play in it!! The state of it! Why? Council taxes should cover the upkeep of children’s play areas, schools too!
That was awesome! You two can be so proud of what you achieved there. Is there a part two intended? You two worked so well together. Maybe a second part where you tackle those wooden play structures and get rid of all this greenish algae? And I really hope you get well after that rain shower 🚿
It’s all being ripped out and replaced with new it was condemned so can’t be kept unfortunately but we will deffo get Szilard in to help again in the future!
What a pity the playground hadn’t been regularly maintained. It would probably have been cheaper in the long run than having to replace equipment, as well as being much nicer for the children to use.
A "spade" is used for cutting in and digging, the blade is usually in line with the shaft, so that downward force can be applied to the "cutting edge" (blade). A "shovel" is used for picking up and moving, the blade is not as "sharp" as a spade's and it usually has sides so as to be able to carry / move bulk, it is also at an angle to the shaft to be able to scoop underneath what needs to be picked up and moved. So by what I'm looking at the silver plastic one is "shovel" shaped. The green handled one with the narrower blade looks more like a "spade", although they can also be called trenching tools, rather than being pure blood spades ;-)
Why does the council let's things get so bad? Why doesn't the children's parents pitch in once a month to clean things up? Community effort and service?
This playground is actually at a school so nothing to do with the council but I agree the PTA could have done something. The school was pretty large though so theyr weren’t short on space for the children

Have a flatter, rectangular, or square blade that's designed for cutting and sectioning off soil. Spades are better for digging straight-edged holes or trenches, cutting through compacted soil, slicing and lifting sod, and edging flower beds or lawns.
Beautiful transformation.. well done boys
What a beautiful thing to do. It looks so beautiful. I wish your business all the success in the world because people who are as loving and compassionate as you deserve it.
cheers from Brazil! loved the job you did!
Thank you very much!
My goodness! I did not expect that result! Well done, gentlemen. Well done!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Call a spade a spade. It looks like one from playing cards. The pointy part is good for making deep.
A shovel is like what you used here, flat front and good for scooping and shove-eling stuff.
Great job! I pray you are all better now! 😊
Thank you so much! Much better 🤩
When I saw the Yellow Floor reveal i was like jeezus they did not ever care about the park once for it to get that bad
A shovel is for moving material, while a spade is primarily for cutting soil and digging holes.
@@nelliebaker8206 not according to Google. I thought spades were pointed apparently not 🤷🏼♀️
if i remember correctly, it's the shape of the end.
a shovel is flat, a spade is pointed.
That's how I learned it too but after I googled it , it proved me wrong. OR it could just be the guy who did the Info on Google has in mind that that is the gods truth. I'm 72 and I still say the spade is pointed like spades in card games. Lol
What a job! :o You guys are gift from above! And all of this hard work for free! Bless you both!
That's very kind, thank you!
This playground has been very neglected! I would not want any of my Grandchildren to play in it!! The state of it! Why? Council taxes should cover the upkeep of children’s play areas, schools too!
This was an amazing transformation. What a foul filthy job you had to do, but so worth it! Job well done Ryan!
Thank you 🤩
That was awesome!
Thank you! That's very kind of you to say! Teamwork makes the dream work. Can't wait for Ryan to ring me for the next great cause.
Yay, its up! I've been awaiting 🙌🏼
Enjoy!
Doesn't seem possible that that is the same playground! What a transformation, I bet all your hard work brought a lot of smiles.
We sure hope it did and it will for a long time.
the yellow reveal was the best
Was my fav too!
WOW what a transformation!!!!!
A spade has straight edges and a shovel has curved edges.
What an incredible difference.
Well done guys.
Thank you!
What a pity the playground hadn’t been regularly maintained. It would probably have been cheaper in the long run than having to replace equipment, as well as being much nicer for the children to use.
Bad them them, good for pressure washing TH-cam video lovers 😗😉
At 10:05, you can see how the spade is better suited to cutting under the moss and the shovel is better for scooping up to carry off!
Why does the council let's things get so bad? Why doesn't the children's parents pitch in once a month to clean things up? Community effort and service?
This playground is actually at a school so nothing to do with the council but I agree the PTA could have done something. The school was pretty large though so theyr weren’t short on space for the children
@@KirbsideCleaning I am sure that it will get more use now, didn't you say there would be new equipment put in?
@@TravelingWithSpecialAbilities yeh they are planning on putting some
Buildings along the back and side and then a smaller play area with new equipment around the boat area
@@KirbsideCleaning excellent! Thanks for your time and for taking the time to care.
@@KirbsideCleaning how nice of you for putting in the time and care. I like your tattoo.
STOP SWITCHING BETWEEN SHOTS gives me a headache
🙄Sounds like a “you” problem, not a them problem🤦♀️
