我很喜歡學中文! I write 1-2 sentences (sometimes more) in my journal everyday to practice writing. (I do this at night) I also highly recommend watching a short video / story in your target language/s. For me in Mandarin, I watch a YT channel called Little Fox Chinese. It’s super helpful to learn new vocabulary as its target audience are for kids. This helps me practice listening and reading (the subtitles in the videos). I usually do this while eating breakfast. For speaking, if I have extra time I would repeat some of the sentences or just the main vocabulary that I have heard while watching the video. So yeah, this is my habit for everyday. This only takes 15-20 minutes everyday. If I have more time (not busy), I would also study new grammar and vocabulary by writing it down and practicing how to use them in real life.

I need to build a consistent habit of listening to native content without English content and I think the weather report will be good to start with because it's short, there's visuals to aid comprehension & similar vocabulary will be used every day.
I am currently learning italian, I am a native portuguese speaker and I use your videos to improve my english skills as well. It's so great and magical to learn a new vocabulary and try to fit it in a phrase, or in my daily routine. It comes in opposite direction of those simply tiktok videos we were used to watch during quarantine where people don't say nothing different and only repeats the same song or phrase... It's like you're putting your mind to work, your brain to make conections, you're looking for a meaning of a word in the middle of your sinapses. Thankyou Zoe! I highly needed the tips. As a mom who also got to take care of kid, home, but also want to start over my career as well as learning languages, your explanation really makes sense and in fact i dont expect that ive been doing the 'start small' thing as you said (eventho sometimes i break the chain). But hopefully, i can be more consistent in building a new habit.
I also like the Tiny Habits book. And strangely enough, I also use my coffee making/drinking as a trigger/prompt for language study. I used to use taking the train to work as my prompt, but after I started working from home, that completely destroyed my language habit (moral of the story: be careful what trigger you pick!). It took a long time (two years!) to figure out to link it to coffee instead, so in those two years I didn't make much progress. 你的视频好酷啊。我学得很慢,但这些视频鼓励我继续前进。我也想学阿拉伯语,但因为我是美国人这个语言真的很难,所以我对开始学习感到紧张。You are quite inspiring!
i can speak arabic from morroco ( and the basic a little like i understand ), french , amazigh ( riff) , english and korean i have a some tips for you that can help a load : i have a korean notebook and you know that when our brain needs to concentrate he creates techniques in connection with what catches our attention like bright colors or a striking drawing, so each time I learned something like fruits for example, I drew them on the side . so this activity does not bore me and that I learn effectively knowing that I have to fill in this learning book ( notebook)
Salam! I’m half Emirati and half Moroccan. Ik morrocan (darija) and i studied French in school but I’m still considered a beginner. Now I’m studying korean. It’s impressive how many languages yk. Amazigh is rllyy nice, especially the script. For Korean, do u have any tips for studying the grammar?? I heard it’s hard.
for the korean grammar you should learn first how to conjugate verbs in different ways like honorific .... ( there are 3 ways ) and after that you learn some verbs and slowly you'ill learn the basic things ( as a good adviser I advise you to learn sentence structures ) that's it !!!
In the morning while I prepare my self for going to work I listen to Turkish and in the evening I practice some French and during the journey I try as much as possible to create time for my English Literature. Now, I am trying ro find some other ''moments' to start Russian( whenever I am so tired and angry about just everything I turn to russian hhhhh😁) ..I Just couldn't stop learning languages....and it really works to use tiny moments in order to learn something big because I only started to see difference when I decided to learn step by step 😃.
Zoe, thank you a lot! I am in the similar situation as you, doing my PhD and all related academic stuff and struggling with learning two languages. It really sounds promising! One tiny thing is that sometimes it is quite challending to find consistent habits when you travel or/and have a very changing schedule :( Will try to rely on coffee and brushing my teeths for a while!
My example. When I'm on the bus, I'm often too lazy to log into the app and learn Chinese because I'm tired. But I almost always listen to music on the bus. So, I decided that listening to Chinese music on the bus to be an ideal option for practice
Thanks Zoe! I had a full time job in Korean so I didn't have time to learn Korean 12-14hours/day in my company. Now I decided quit it ( just because That job was stress and I didn't like it) so now I have full time in learning language, in my leasure time still find an easy job which I can use language and more time for learning also. My target is get B1 for 4,5 months. Hopefully I can complete that goal. 🎉. Thanks for your advices.
Thank you so much. This was what I needed to hear. I am currently learning french and hope to learn Italian and I found your tips really helpful. Keep up the good work Zoe.
I learned some good tips from this video. when we take action to learn some new thing, we always intend to find some excuse to give up. The most important thing to learn something successful is to keep going, for instance, you can learn some little in the nap of daily life. I can't express my thoughts fluently in English, I have many words to say,But It is difficult for me to express, so I will insist on watching Zoe's video to learn English well, I expect I can use English to express what I thinking in one day. Thank you for sharing.
Zoe-thank you very much fro your videos! I love your channel, because it is so full of helpful videos. I have a full schedule, and feel like I never have time to work on my language. It has made me sad, because I want to become fluent. Thank you for all of your tips. I appreciate you!
thanks for sharing. im struggling as well studying a new language coz I have a full time job and part time course. your routine and techniques are really good.
Thank you, Zoe! ❤ I got an idea while I was watching your video: I can be thinking in English a few minutes every morning and evening during teethwashing. 🙃
Another great video. Thank you so much Zoe! Daily routine brings us forward in language learning. Even small steps can bring us further than we think. Thank you for the video again.
This helps so much ¡ cuz I’m studying and I’m so busy with school and exams and finals and i have two languages besides that , so that’s really helped me ❤
As someone who work 12-13 hours a day. Whenever there is free gap even 2-3 mins. I learn language in the app on my phone. Life is so busy yet It is fun learning languages
Nice video. I think for me the problem is when I hear the word study. I picture myself as a university student spending hours researching and writing and listening to things so it becomes overwhelming before I start. The idea of saying I will study Portuguese or German or Spanish for 30 minutes and that meaning I will listen to something on the news or read an article, just never sounded like studying. I was definitely doing myself a disservice with this attitude. Thank you so much for your video.
It takes so much effort to learn a language , especially with a busy life. I’m trying to improve my language by making Vlogs, your suggestion is very useful to me, thank you !
This is so we'll put together in my opinion and applies so well even to those with mental health struggles, very helpful and inspirational! Thanks 🙏🏽🙌🏽
Thank you so much Zoe for the tips! You are right, its all about of creating a habit. I came to your video as I am looking for advises on how to keep on learning new languages. Mandarin in on my list 🥰
Zoe thanks for your tips, I have a full time 8 hrs job, and adjusting my routine to my language learning routine has been very easy for me I tend to be very disciplined and not to base my study or anything for motivation because it is not reliable. I study Chinese for 1 or 2 hour daily it is part of me and my habits, at the start I studied at night after work, but then I had to start studying in the morning due to the time and also I am an English teacher at night, but I made up a quite good routine at night I study on Anki cards and at the morning I do my heavy lesson, on one of my days off I make new sentences on excel to place them on Anki. I make 10 to 20 sentences a week and try to memorize an learn them. I started using Anki a month a go because I didn't memorize words and tried using Anki on my phone but I really get bored easily due to interface of Anki, know I added Anki to my routine and it seems quite useful to my vocab learning habit if I do it on my compute also I have mini steps that I do every time I am free, for example when I am on the shower I listen to podcasts or listen to club house groups. When I am cleaning or doing my makeup I listen also to podcasts or tips on how to improve my pronunciation .
I keep flashcards in my purse for when I'm bored. Plus, I keep a textbook on the passenger side seat of my car. That way I see it often while I do errands or am waiting for friends.
Thanks for sharing! 😄 I was feeling as a failure because I couldn't stick to my habits, but you explanation gave me a new perspective and now I know how can I fix my problems about it. Thanks a lot!
You are wonderful ❤ I watched you the first time , and I'm just amazed how you diciplined yourself and get such a great result by tiny actions. Now I have a will to read that book too❤

Keep going 💪💪don’t break the chain 😉

@@zoe.languages how to make writing😢😢
شكراً جدا على هذه النصائح الجميله انا من مصر وأحب أن اتابعك كثيرا وتساعدنى نصائحك كثيرا فى تعلم اللغات❤
i can speak arabic from morroco ( and the basic a little like i understand ), french , amazigh ( riff) , english and korean i have a some tips for you that can help a load : i have a korean notebook and you know that when our brain needs to concentrate he creates techniques in connection with what catches our attention like bright colors or a striking drawing, so each time I learned something like fruits for example, I drew them on the side . so this activity does not bore me and that I learn effectively knowing that I have to fill in this learning book ( notebook)
Thank you very much Zoe
I am a doctoral student, too. I am inspired by you so much.
Thank you for your sharing. It helps!
In the morning while I prepare my self for going to work I listen to Turkish and in the evening I practice some French and during the journey I try as much as possible to create time for my English Literature. Now, I am trying ro find some other ''moments' to start Russian( whenever I am so tired and angry about just everything I turn to russian hhhhh😁) ..I Just couldn't stop learning languages....and it really works to use tiny moments in order to learn something big because I only started to see difference when I decided to learn step by step 😃.
good, I also agree.
Hope it will be helpful!

This is not only to learn a language but to learn anything. Thankyou for such tips.
👍👍👍
Thanks for your TH-cam job! It's really helpful for me. I watch and listen to you with a huge pleasure.

Zoe-thank you very much fro your videos! I love your channel, because it is so full of helpful videos. I have a full schedule, and feel like I never have time to work on my language. It has made me sad, because I want to become fluent. Thank you for all of your tips. I appreciate you!

I eas really inspired by this video, and I got new hints for my language learning journey.
As someone who work 12-13 hours a day. Whenever there is free gap even 2-3 mins. I learn language in the app on my phone. Life is so busy yet It is fun learning languages
You love leaning languages, you have the talent, you make money out of it and it gives your life a reasonable feeling.
طريقتك في طرح المواضيع سلسلة وشيِّقة، أحب فيديوهاتك كثيرا.

Thank you so much Zoe for the tips! You are right, its all about of creating a habit.
I came to your video as I am looking for advises on how to keep on learning new languages. Mandarin in on my list 🥰
Excellent sound quality!👍👍👍
When I am cleaning or doing my makeup I listen also to podcasts or tips on how to improve my pronunciation .
good
I keep flashcards in my purse for when I'm bored.
Plus, I keep a textbook on the passenger side seat of my car.
That way I see it often while I do errands or am waiting for friends.
Logic and practical approach. Will give it a try. Thanks, Zoe.
Thanks for sharing! 😄 I was feeling as a failure because I couldn't stick to my habits, but you explanation gave me a new perspective and now I know how can I fix my problems about it. Thanks a lot!

I’m learning English since last year. I think that I have a great level, but I need to improve it more. I started to learn Spanish, this language it’s easy to learn because I’m a Portuguese speaker and these languages are very similar.

Zoe I love how your video serves perfectly as a podcast so I can listen to it when I drove home just now!
I also wanna share some study tips!
I have a busy schedule as well. I work full time; full-time student working towards my BCBA; advanced Japanese learner, beginner beginner spanish speaker; heavy GMAER!!!
I have to drive a lot daily due to my work; so I always utilize my time when I drive! I always listen to NHK news in the morning and beginner spanish (repeatly for spanish due to my level) when I'm off work. I find it works very well for me.

This is so helpful, thank you Zoe! I speak 5 languages, and it's often difficult to decide how much time I'll spend on each language. Because of my internship, for which I travel 4h in total a day, I watch videos in Spanish when changing trains. It's small, but it helps :)
I often review Anki cards and watch videos on the train 🥰
