      Lol when I bought my 14 back in November, my brother gave me that Ghost look that was going around in memes 😂
      Payed it off by the end of December so all was good, my credit went up 30 points because of it.

    Spot on dude! I got an FMA for $60, fully expecting Junk, but it's secure and balanced! actually impressed...I only need it for stargazing and casual exploring shit......also spent $40 for used surplus Norotos Rhino mount. I'm running Sionyx Aurora, not PVS...so made a custom "arm" piece coming off the Rhino, because a PVS J-Arm obviously makes the Sionyx sit crooked....But anyways, the stock helmet fits my head perfect, maybe after a few hours I will change my mind and want to upgrade cushions, but for now it's good, I just wanted to achieve hands-free....I'm only invested in around $100, i'll risk that all day long.

    Very good video on the ins and outs of building something up from parts. This will definitely help people. I've been researching a cheap build for almost a year, just trying to get the right parts from all different directions.
    This will be the start of my night vision journey, so just trying to get this part right without spending an arm and a leg.

      honestly i want a pvs-14 but i went with the chinese knock off first, should be arriving somewhat soon but when i do get some decent extra cash i might buy a real build kit but for now this will have to suffice for recreational activities.

    For counterweights you can use duck decoy weights or wheel weights from harbor freight
    Wrap them in electrical tape then slap Velcro on it

    • @angryasianfab
      @angryasianfab  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      In Trashcanistan some guys used spent AA and 123 batteries. Cover them in 100mph tape, stick on velcro, good to go.

      I'm not a big fan of drilling holes in ballistic helmets. If I wanted to save money on a high cut, I would get an ACH or PASGT and send it to kustomach.com

    The 50 dollar team wendy bump helmet from china in question:

  • @m.7n6
    @m.7n6 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Personally for me I hated the black pads I only used the back black pad, the rest of em made it sit way to high up my head I tried adjusting them in different places and it didn't do much but made it worse, but on my ballistic helmets i only use one black pad on my pasgt, and ACH helmet I use the rear black pad. I also have a lshz1+ bump helmet that helmet I just left alone since it's not worth making any better, but once I get a high cut ballistic helmet I'm gonna probably end up going with team Wendy knock off padding, and use gentex h nape harness I use gentex h nape harness on all my ballistic helmets they work good

    • @angryasianfab
      @angryasianfab  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      For ballistic helmets go with real deal pads not knock offs! Legit pad manufacturers build to specifications for their pads to reduce blast/trauma and TBIs. I don't mind going cheap on a bump helmet for dicking around, but don't go cheap for your real deal bullet deflector. I talk more about this in my high cut helmet video.

      @@angryasianfabI saw you recommended the 4D pads in another video and provided a link, but there's a bunch of options there-is there any one set you're particularly fond of?

    • @angryasianfab
      @angryasianfab  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@AEtrane I'm running the 4D Hive Retrofit 3/4" pads currently in my ACH and like them. I've heard some complain about the kits with the long forehead pad being a sweat sponge but that probably varies from person to person.

    • @m.7n6
      @m.7n6 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@angryasianfab i ended up replacing the pads with some actual team Wendy pads on my pasgt I converted into a high cut, I also bought a nice ops core improved h nape, ops core VAS shroud, and a set of ops core ACH arc rails, and industrial grade Velcro for it. My ACH I switched to skydex pads as well, and replaced the h nape with a new ops core h nape, and called it a day added my norotos universal shroud to it. My bump helmet I bought a cheap one as well sold my gearcraft grey shop garbage for a $50 tactical bump helmet, added a good norotos 3 hole universal shroud, and I just put my knock off team Wendy helmet pads in em and used my gentex ACH helmet h nape that I had on my pasgt before I converted it into a high cut. Pretty much used what I had laying around and my airsoft grade arc rails that used to be on my chopped up pasgt high cut helmet now on that.
