A quick update regarding the Digsite leak - HiddenXperia uploaded a video about this topic and had it taken down by the "the powers that be" (you know who I'm talkin' about) for sharing footage of the leaked content. I've tried to get the jump on this and have blurred or cut certain parts of the video containing links, images or footage of the leaks. Let's see if this video is still here in 24 hours!
Well, at least you'll be taken by a force who acknowledges your requests, such as Xbox Mods, and get Yeet'd out a window,it was an amazing video if it is taken down and thanks for supporting us Console players wanting mods ❤❤
So far it's only been HiddenXperia's video taken down, every other video discussing and showing the Digsite leak (including Mint Blitz's video) are still up and viewable on TH-cam. We'll see if Microsoft targets those videos as well.
@generalcjg if they do, that's a sign they looked at the criticism and if here... idk if your PC or Console, but like I said in my comment, at least Microsoft would find out the request and what it could bring- and then prob only to Infinite
Nah. 343 has proven they are incapable of delivering a good game at launch, and Microsoft/xbox has proven that they are incapable of managing studios. Halo is dead. It has been for some time. I gave away my legendary editions and collectibles after halo 5.

MCC may have kept the community together, but there are less people playing Halo now than there were 15 years ago. The new generation, and those after, aren't gonna want to just play games that are pushing 30 years old for the sake of keeping the nostalgia of the older generations alive. It's been 10 years since MCC released, barely any paid content except for ODST and Reach being added separately. It's lasted longer than most without much financial gain. It's time to move on and wish for better games than to keep wanting more out of old games.
I hate how people are acting like "Halo Studios" is the best new thing, they are literally just 343 renamed. It's not gonna change anything. I want to be hyped for the next Halo game, but after Halo Infinite, my anticipation has muted significantly.

I love how only a couple weeks after Halo Studios/Microsoft did next to nothing for Halo 2’s 20th Anniversary besides releasing some overpriced skins in Infinite and burning out the Digsite team, Valve came out guns blazing with Half Life 2’s anniversary with an amazing update to the game and an incredible documentary about its development and history, really putting Microsoft to shame on how to celebrate the anniversary of one of their greatest games
The difference is Valve made Half Life, so they actually understand it's value. They are proud of what they created, they love it & their fans. Microsoft didn't create Halo, it's just another money maker to them. They don't care one bit about it unless it is raking in money. They don't care about the people who grew up with Halo. They don't love it, they love money. There is a reason Bungie wanted to get away from Microsoft.
Microsoft makes too much money, and prioritizes making too much money to care or respect the wishes of its consumers and employees. This can be said for most companies. Your only method to combat this is stop giving them money and stop participating. They treat you like you don't matter because you don't matter to them. What matters is when their bottom line starts to hurt and the king notices he's not swimming in money anymore and executives start racing to find things to point their fingers at.
5:00 Even if Infinite and MCC are considered to be competing, deleting the MCC wouldn't suddenly make everyone playing it shift to to Infinite - especially for those of us who play Halo for the campaigns...
I tried to play Infinite campaign, and side bits were alright, but 343 continued to insist upon that which is anathema to Halo. Boss fights. The only one Bungie stuffed into a game that shipped was the Tartarus fight at the end of 2, and it was a bad idea then, too. Why MS keeps on doing it in their Halo titles since I cannot fathom.

I was there Gandalf, standing outside gamestop for 3, ODST, Reach. Definitely had a tear in the eye when you mentioned midnight releases. I gave up on the MCC early on, but I'm glad they brought it back around. If MS does drop support for it, I'm hopeful that someone out there will package it so people can archive it in their personal collections and always have access to the single player games with some way to play co-op.
@matercheff yeah , 343 said that it was because "spliscreen" is difficult on pc , but thats not true lol, I cam play black ops 3 zombies in splitscreen mode without any issue , is just 343 not wanting to do it...
They may want, but they are just not capable to do it. All the stuff 343 put it showed that they aren't capable to create a consistent and finished experience.
@@SilverViper1000 343's been outdone by modders ... Again! There are two great split screen mods for halo now, one of em is super easy too. Literally just replace two files with the modded ones.
Valve delivers a big load of updates, gives an interview, adds commentary in the game, and provides us with footage of the early game. 343 (Halo Studios): A FUCKING GIF.
It's so embarrassing. And people defend this because MCC "doesn't make money". I wish I was joking. Someone unironically fucking said in this very comments section "If it doesn’t make money, why continue to spend money on development?" Then look at what Valve did for HL1 and 2 recently. 20 year old games, well past their prime and sales, and they got HUGE updates. Commentary tracks, interviews, documentaries, you name it. It's literally night and day. HL2 is STILL getting updates regardless to this day. For a game that "doesn't make money" according to people like this, it sure is doing well right now, huh? What did Halo 2 get for it's 20th year anniversary? A documentary, like a ViDoc? Maybe custom cosmetics like what we got for Xbox's 20th anniversary? Nameplates? Nope, NOTHING. And what did MCC get for it's 10 year anniversary? NOTHING! Microsoft does not give a flying fuck about Halo anymore and it shows, otherwise they would actually bother to promote their fucking "flagship" IP. Hint, hint, it's no longer their flagship IP, and hasn't been promoted in any recent game showcases like Fable and Perfect Dark have. That shit happened TWICE, by the way. Not even a "hey 343 is working on a new game!". Fucking 343 had to do that themselves during HCS. Halo Infinite came out after Half Life Alyx and Halo has more games than Half Life ever will, but that community is still going strong. Meanwhile Halo is decaying in a ditch. What's funny is that the devs were doing this (with excellent stuff like Flood Firefight) just like Valve did until the MTX shit happened where Microsoft got greedy and wanted people to pay real money when Valve is happily doing updates free of charge. It's only after we told them no that they pulled the plug. It's pure greed and it's disgusting.
@@Nighterac Even then, for those Perfect Dark and Fable promotions, its so spaced out that I mostly forget about them until they are mentioned again. Interestingly, I am not even hyped for the new Perfect Dark
Also, add how Valve finished TF2's storyline after all those years, proving that they're also better than 343 when it comes to mishandling a franchise but later writing their own mistakes right
From Microsoft, not 343. 343 has ALWAYS loved this franchise, but they are run by one of the most notoriously difficult to work with publishers in the industry. Microsoft has probably killed more developer teams than EA and yet everybody targets 343 like they're solely responsible. Microsoft historically hates all of their IPs. They bought Minecraft and immediately filled it with microtransactions and the game went into a slump for 6 years. They released a Zoo Tycoon game as a launch title for the Xbox One that was so abysmal, not only did they shutter both the developer and the franchise after that, but the devs contracted to make the game would ultimately make TWO spiritual successors that outsold the entire IP. Age of Empires got shot in the foot several times, Gears of War literally was handed to a bunch of strangers (just like Halo).
@@Kisseyhersh123Dude, 343i now Halo Studios has one of the worst work environments in the Gaming Industry, period. It's so bad, you can leave that studio, join a studio like Activision, and the differences in treatment are night and day. @@Kisseyhersh123 yeah i doubt it, so microsoft is the one in charge of the narrative and campaign in Halo 5? Microsoft is the one that said "hey build a new game engine across multiple years BUT you can only hire people for an 18 month contract so they cant get benefits". if microsoft did that then i guess they are at fault
The only thing worse than 343's chronic sabotage and mismanagement of the Halo IP is the fact that Microsoft has really never held them accountable for any of it.
...you do realize that over 90% of the shit people blame 343 for is microsoft's fault, right? this isn't just a 343 thing, because even most bungie employees will vouch for the fact that it's microsoft that keeps fucking them over, because microsoft did the exact same thing to them when they still worked on halo
@@Pool-h5w Microsoft didn't wanna pay to keep the original bungie team together after Halo 3. They owned Halo as an ip even though they had nothing to do with it's creation. OG Bungie employees were definitely forced out and the few remaining helped develop Reach. Everything after Reach is pure dog water.
The mod section is so real, there needs to be social matchmaking/server browsing with mods. So many full on games have originated as mods, almost every single one I can think of is multiplayer and was or is massively popular. Counter Strike, Dota, Team Fortress, Chivalry, PUBG, DayZ, etc etc.
I can't believe I'm saying this but Star Wars is unironically in a better state than Halo is right now. I wish I was joking. Despite how awful the sequels were, you still have stuff like Andor and the Mandalorian. Sure you have your shit like Acolyte, but, again, you still have good stuff like Andor. What the hell does 343 Halo have? Shitty books no one reads? Hell, even SONIC, the internet's punching bag, has been doing much better off recently. It actually is.. getting decent.. or even really good games? Go figure.
This is a perfect example of something I realized: Most modern games now aren’t even about the game itself or the community behind it. It’s just about the money, and I hate it.
That's because you're looking at big publishers for passion. There's no such thing, unless maybe you look at Nintendo, but even they make mistakes, just for different reasons (arrogance, mostly; Paper Mario never stood a chance at remaining an RPG). If you stop looking at Microsoft, Sony and even Nintendo and start looking at quality indie games, you'll quickly realize that modern gaming is not entirely greedy and devoid of passion. Sure, technologically they aren't that impressive, but Stardew Valley, Kenshi, Inscryption... all fucking fantastic indie games, and if I recall, all three were made by one person each. No Man's Sky, for all its faults in marketing at launch, is also clearly about the game and not money. Constant free updates and the first "DLC" they put up recently was just a limited-time ship you could claim for free.
@ Yeah. I’m glad indie games are getting more attention, because they’re so much better and honestly really enjoyable. You can tell there was a lot of effort put into them.
I’m convinced Marty has an advanced filter on his computer that notifies him when a Halo video is uploaded. Also can we give the maestro more than 19 likes?!
The midnight launch for this game was memorable. I stood in line with about 10 other people for and hour, and then went home to a game that actually didn't function for weeks.
@@vexatriss i think it was around 2020 ill be honest. I remember salivating at the mouth for MCC, after the slop 343 was feeding us for years in halo 4 and 5. My friends and i were part of the cursed era in online gaming, where we had to get a whole ass EXTRA DISC for halo 2 to install xbox live and start matchmaking online. We were bummed when one of our group got MCC on release and it was hot garbage. It took until around 2020 for them to update the game to where it was actually playable. That was when we took the dive, and it was fantastic. Then, they went and messed it up again and none of us have touched halo with a 10 foot pole. Infinite made us interested, but we waited before diving in, and none of us were pulled in. 343 is a garbage studio and has 0 understanding of what made a halo game great.
MCC is still the best multiplayer FPS experience possible. No perks. No attachments. No “I saw you first so I win” 0.0001sec TTK. Just you. Your 2 guns. Maybe nades. And aiming/strafing. Map knowledge mattered, and the physics of H2 and H3 is STILL unmatched to this day. What a damn travesty. Honestly. I don’t care to play an FPS knowing the KING is dead.

@@DarkepyonX You're an idiot. It depends on when the game came out and during the height of the franchise's popularity or not. Infinite had a massive player drop very quickly. Quicker than any other title in the franchise. Halo 3 lasted for years with a high player base. Through MW2, BO, BO2, it was still highly played. Infinite hasn't been able to keep up with these numbers.
I do not support the thesis of the commenter, yet you're wrong. Popularity doesn't mean anything in terms of quality. You cannot argue that bf3 is worse than 2042, but your thesis would suggest that.. Everyone laughs about marketing and ads being useless and dumb but deep down you guys are really affected by it. None of you is looking up indie games, all you hear about is the trailer that paid the most to get onto your ad break that disguised as a game show
I’m so glad someone else has a problem with the H2 anniversary too. It pissed me off how there was so much more “celebration” in infinite than ACTUAL HALO 2. People say “you got the e3 demo and alpha moon”. Yea that was done by the community, not 343. There was NOTHING in MCC for the anniversary. Not even a nameplate that somebody could have made on their lunch break. They just had to take a piece of 20 year old promo art, crop it, name it and put it in the game. Nope too much work.
And if you don't have a PC you can't play it either fucking way,They basically gave us Xbox guys the finger when we carried the game from life to death.I was livid to find out the only thing we got was a throwback playlist and more nostalgia bait in the form of armor we still have to pay for. They refuse to deliver their promises of couch co-op and they change our classic customization options for the stupid fucking pre shaded color colors and people have the audacity to defend this shit 😂
Master Chief Collection was such a mess on day one, broken main menu and issues left and right. It's gotten better but it's still inferior to native hardware and crashes on Windows 10 after a few matches. The game is also essentially dead now. So many playlist settings will result with you never finding a match, most are only playing Halo 3/Reach Battle Rifle/DMR start, so there is no reason to pick up 75% of the weapons on the map.
@@kodybuffettwilson I've seen people say that Cyberpunk was a "Good" game on launch but never that it wasn't a broken mess. I don't think anyone is saying that
The way I see it, "Halo Studios" are purposefully neglecting the MCC in order to get everyone to play Halo Infinite. They know they can't put microtransactions into Bungie's work without risk of a revolt in the fanbase, so instead they're deliberately ignoring it to funnel everybody into THEIR game where they can do what they want, even if that means sacrificing Halo 4, their only game in the MCC, in the process. They talk big about their rebrand, the future of Halo and their fancy new Foundry where they can play with themselves, but if they truly give a damn about the franchise and turning over a new leaf, then they'll fix the MCC and keep it alive, otherwise Halo Studios really is just 343i trying to escape their bad rep and thinking changing their name is going to shut us up.
Exactly, I’m suprised Microsoft doesn’t just axe the servers and force everyone to play the new slop filled with money making scams. I guess going the CoD route and just letting The MCC sink into disrepair and cheaters might work just as well.
Managed to play halo 1 ce campaign with my bro last year. Was great. Tried halo 2 campaign and it crashed every 15-30min. The custom multi-player lobbies they added are fun and less infested with bots.

Sad reality is that halo was lightning in a bottle that will never be replicated again, the og bungie devs were just special and i dont think any dev team can replicate what they did
This right here is the truth. It was made at the right time by the right people who just wanted to make a game that they thought was fun, it can't be replicated.
True. Halo: CE revolutionized console and FPS games, with sequels adding features which became expected in the franchise (and other games). Now, we are literally sold the color blue, have less free customization, and are lucky to get a feature complete game a decade after development starts. Screw any respect for the core themes, art style, and feel too...
It would have been replicated if 343i were truly interested in the scientific method and worked hard. Or hell, put a bunch of modders on salary to make a bunch of really amazing DLC for the game.
I mean it's Valve. They've recently made a new rule for anyone selling DLC: You need a release date and money is refunded immediately if you don't release. No more "TBA" allowed. And with the newest update to Half-Life 2 they threw in Ch1&2 for free for anyone who didn't have it yet. And the Deck can be pretty easily changed out with different firmware to do other stuff with it("You already gave us your money. Why should we care what you do with your computer?" was their mentality). It'll be a sad day when Gabe retires
Hold up, Valve abandoned TF2 years ago. The content updates you see these days (and for many years) are ALL community sourced. Valve just slaps the official stamp on it and releases it. They started doing that way back, when they began including community-made maps in official updates, and it slowly kept snowballing until literally everything is now community-made. Valve themselves does nothing for TF2 but sit back and collect the money it brings in. They won't even fix the rampant botting problem the game has, despite saying they would three years ago after a huge online petition from players. Valve is the poster child for what happens to devs when they no longer have to actually put in effort. Steam made them fat and lazy. That's why there's been no sequels to their games after that fact.
@@Draknfyreyou would have been correct half a year ago, but Valve has mostly fixed the botting crisis and also released the 7th comic. from this it seems Valve only wants tf2 on life support, but at least they care enough to acknowledge its existence.

In response to that spit in the face the digsite team quit and someone leaked all of the digsite content. So yeah digsite is finished because of Microsoft stupidity and arrogance.
That's the same reason they lost Bungie in the first place, not so much lack of pay (though I'm sure they undercut them considering how much of a cash cow Halo was back then) but lack of realistic deadlines & just general disrespect. Working for Microsoft should be avoided at all costs.
Got a source on any of that? Or did you just make it up? 😆 Your comment doesn't even make sense. What deadlines are Microsoft setting? 😆 I doubt there's a hard release date for an incomplete demo build from 20 years ago. And it's a "Herculean effort" now to upload files to the internet? I must be a Greek God then. 😆 Why would Microsoft pay them anything when they were stupid enough to do it for free in the first place? And then chucking a tantrum and walking out, lol. Very mature, that's the end of their professional careers. Maybe sign a contract first before you go doing work for free? 🤣😂 I will never not be amused by gamers who expect a company like Microsoft to keep spending money on games nobody is playing. The MCC is dead on Steam, has been for 3 years. The average player count is less than 4000, Team Fortress 2 has 130,000. Do the maths. Don't forget how it is utterly impossible to play Campaign with others on PC without an insane amount of input lag for anyone who isn't host. I can't play any Halo Campaign with my brother who literally lives downstairs without 1 - 2 seconds of input lag. This was acknowledged by MCC's team before, but they refused to fix it because it would be, and I quote, "too much work."
Anything beyond coming up with a new armor coating in Infinite is "too much work" for them at this point. They are interested in minimum effort & maximum profits.
campaign lag thing is there on console too, i tried doing campaign with a friend who had just gotten her first xbone and it was a miserable experience and we ended up deciding not to try doing it anymore which it really upsetting
People seem to forget 343 had to sift through 'terabytes' of Data just to get the Xbox exclusive halo's to work natively on PC. I can't think of any other game that can have issues with playing together if people load in at different speeds. Im not kidding. You cannot play Halo 1 or 2 Co-op unless you and your friends load the game at very similar speeds. It's a really weird issue. Im not saying they shouldn't fix it. But them saying it's 'too much work' isn't just an easy 'we dont want too' cop out.
As a modder for MCC I agree 100% about bringing mods to Xbox. I think if they choose to do this, they need to add the ability for custom game browser support for mods as well. There's just so much potential! + we can finally do open test lobbies for players (instead of having to organize through the halo mods discord)
Something I wish they'd do is let us host matchmaking servers with modded custom games. There's literally so much potential with mods that they're just letting slip away
Why they didn't do this is just so mind-boggling. They already implemented Steam Workshop support where it downloads the content even while you're in the game, why the hell is there no modded CGB?
Always makes me wish other games get it but I know it won’t happen, recently stalker 2 for having mods which yea it will…for PC, console version won’t ever get it
Here's a novel idea. How about lay off the majority of the marketing team first? Then work on your actual background in the sense of development and coding and actually pay them for once?
Don't be there making sense! We MUST have all these special and DIVERSE people in marketing, regardless of their skill and actual usefulness to the franchise and it's longevity. They don't even like it to begin with? Who cares, it's diverse!

Well in fairness it's pretty simple, even if Microsoft recycled the Devs, you can't pay people to care or put their true heart into it, especially when a huge amount of focus is on where it can make more money and not being a quality product, Remember the game is literally meant to attract you to buy microtransactions, that's where the focus is, Back in 2007 a good game was where the money came from.....then the horse of doom in world of warcraft happened...... That horse in 2010, doomed gaming, because it made more money in a few weeks then star craft 3, that gigantic esport etc, did for its entire release. The horse cost a few hundred bux in labour hours, star craft cost tens of millions to make
Your speech at the end gave me goosebumps and made my eyes water.... I'm one of those long time fans. I started playing Halo when I was 4 years old, and in 2 days I will be 26.. For 22 years I have played and replayed all of these games, all of their multiplayers, everything. Halo will always mean so much to me. I recently played through Halo CE, 2, 3 and Reach with my gf and she fell in love and was so invested, and she asked me if these games are so good and had so much hype, then what happened? It hurt a little to be asked that question..
I don't recognize anything made after 2010 as cannon or worth spending money on. If you want to buy some cool Halo products, support the passionate fans, not the soulless corporations who refuse to respect the franchise.
@@alexanderrobins7497 agreed. We watch time and again 343 struggle to even understand what made halo, halo. But I guess that would be risky in todays gaming markets, it would be foolish to try something so unproven. too bad there are no critically acclaimed games these days releasing high profile -Expansions- "Big Purchaseable Updates" especially no *_Previous GOTY Award winning games_*
Well, you see, unfortunately all of those things you listed require actual EFFORT. They aren't interested in putting in effort anymore. That's crazy talk. Why would they actually make an expansion with new & interesting content when they can just squeeze out a new shiny skin or dance move (that someone slapped together in 15 minutes) every other week & charge morons $10 for it? They want minimum effort & maximum profits; that's the name of the game now & it's only going to get worse. They way 343 treats the legacy of Halo and its fans is insulting. This is my favorite franchise and my childhood. Really stupid to blow it when it could practically print money forever if they just respected Halo and gave the fans some love and what they deserve.
@@ghost_ship_supremeIt's because it reduces the pivoting and hip deviation, which straightens out your lower back and reduces the tension. I visit a chiropractor weekly and this advice is true. They make shaped pillows as an 'as seen on TV' product which are specifically designed for this. I'd also recommend a tri-core pillow for head and neck alignment. Both of those things keep you in alignment if you're a side-sleeper, and the tri-core alone helps if you sleep on your back.

6:45 THANK YOU I feel like everyone forgets about crossplay campaign. They said Halo 3 and ODST were in "beta" and it hasn't left "beta" and no other game has it. My GF and I are long distance. She is on Xbox and I'm on PC, it would be nice to play with her without spending money on a xbox live (sorry "game pass core") every time we want to play classic halo together.
That's just awful, man. I know a lot of my suggestions for MCC will probably never get picked up by the devs, but I seriously hope that crossplay campaign co-op for all titles comes to the game soon. Just makes no sense to leave a job half done like that.
I thought it was too! I tried to play with my sibling (they are xbox and I'm PC), we then found out we couldn't play campaign together!!! That was only a few months ago. Doesn't matter what their name is and what game they push out. I have no sympathy for 343 (or whatever they are called now), the executives and Microsoft have no shits to give about the franchise so what ever hair brained scheme they have now, I have no shits to give back.
That game pass core line indicates a trend in gaming for so long you get the poor version with limitations or grind or get the premium version which more than likely should’ve been the base built
My long time best friend and I where playing MCC last night having a blast talking about these same topics. Really do wish support for MCC was continued with new content.
imo the problem with MCC is that what it started out as was clearly a marketing and live service platform intended to milk fans of classic Halo whilst advertising 343's upcoming games to them, rather than a genuine attempt to respectfully preserve the original series. Now, that said, I do actually think 343 have made a real effort to transform MCC _into_ a more respectful preservation since then. But the problem is they've been hamstrung all along by the rotten foundation, and I have to assume reduced funding ever since the original (more profitable) plans failed. They tried to use MCC to advertise Halo 5. They tried to add microtransactions. That was their real plan for MCC. But Halo fans (rightly) didn't want either of those things. Basically what I'm saying is MCC was always screwed, from the start. 343 have made a decent effort to bend into the shape of what fans want it to be, but it could never have been perfect because the foundation they've been working on top of for the past decade is just wrong. If someone actually wanted to make a "perfect" Halo collection that preserves the originals as closely as possible, even at this stage it would probably be easier to just start over from scratch. But Microsoft are not going to do that.
They have barely made a "decent effort." They left behind a skeleton crew to fix it after they already moved on to Infinite. If it wasn't for the small, dedicated team, the MCC would still be a soulless shell.
All we needed was modded custom games browser and console mods and the modding community could of ran itself. But I have a feeling microsoft didn't want that. They wanted us to fail. They want to replace us with whatever reboot slop they have. Rewrite history in their image. They have done everything in their power to make halo fail at every chance. Because if MCC was just run by the modding community why would they bother playing their slop? The fact that they stopped doing mod showcases on the blogs on waypoint after 2022, the fact alot of halotubers just don't want to cover mods unless its anything official now. It just feels like they want this to fade away into obscurity and die out.
Digsite were doing a much better job than Microsoft/343 ever fucking will. Crash Site and Alpha Moon genuinely felt like... Halo, again. It's crazy when you have people that actually give a shit and don't just want to waste money buying out huge fucking studios like Activision to compensate for your own IPs going down the shitter, the product turns out good.
The time has come to turn on the Halotubers who prop these fuckers up, and to continue in spite. My take? We got those leaks right? We find someone in a country like Russia or China to carry this shit for us. Someone who could, hypothetically, host a bootleg Halo game server and Microsoft could not do shit about it unless they somehow pulled off convincing the US government to start WW3 over fucking Halo.
I'm tired boss... This franchise has been through almost 2 decades of neglect and abuse. I don't know how much longer I can hold out. At this point I don't think it will ever get better let alone recover to what it once was... Halo died with reach in my opinion. The bar was set there and it has yet to be surpassed.
Literally if they allowed for mods in the multiplayer browser, MCC would run forever. Right now it’s the same stuff we’ve been playing for years which is fine but god damn I want mods in multiplayer
im still waiting for them to bring halo wars 2 and and halo 5 over to steam, dont feel like playing halo with out all the games available, i havent even played gears of war in like 5 years since they wont bring 2 and 3 to pc and im not going to buy an xbox just for 3 games
@@ReaperS2109 I feel... been waiting for any Halo wars 3 information but might just have to give up that idea... Once Halo wars 2 is on Pc hopefully the mods can work there magic.
I’ll never understand why 343 removed certain social components of the game. Pre game lobbies were a great place to communicate, build camaraderie, make enemies, tell jokes and stories and bond over experiences. That and other aspects of the game like a proper file share with bungie favourites brought such an interactive environment for the community. There were entire sub-communities dedicated to screen shotting, forging and game type creation that are all but gone because those features were removed. If they would have just built upon what reach had it would have been great. Why would you remove the things that provided such longevity to your product? Why alienate entire groups of players whose creativity made the franchise thrive. Seems like greed is the main answer.
I absolutely love Halo, but the mismanagement has got to be studied. There is no way that CoD has stayed relevant IP year after year, even though at this point, it's become incredibly diluted, and Halo didn't keep up. Both of them were absolute power houses of online multiplayer games in the early 2000's how did we fall so far?
@@SilverViper1000 Nah, Halo Wars 1 was way better than 2. Much more fun, better story, better maps, and better balancing. Halo Wars 1 is still a decent game, just don’t try to play online if you’re not very good cause all the players left are fuckin sweaty as hell
Through and through an extraordinary video, you hit everything.Older halos mean so much to so many people. Seeing mcc slowly wither away breaks my heart. The demand is there!
The biggest miss for MCC PC is no vanilla support for local Co-op and the original Multiplayer maps. All I want out of MCC is to be able to relive the memories of playing Co-op Halo 1&2, and local slayer games with my dad and sister. It should be as easy as bringing my laptop and a couple controllers and boom we are playing the Library Co-op on Legendary again.
@@aLTis94 the right thing, not just for co op but all great mods, is just to reach out and financially compensate the modders and officially patch the best mods into the game.
People never learn. At this point I dont care. Waste your money and get ripped off, not my problem. Halo Studios is 343, 343 hates Halo and the fans, Unreal is not an improvement.
It's good to see at least one person who understands that the move to Unreal is NOT a good thing. Of course they are going to claim it's good for us with PR speak, but they are just doing it so they can onboard their temp contractors a bit faster. Whatever they make still isn't going to be made by anyone who gives a damn about Halo. It's going to be thrown together by a revolving door of temp workers who don't care about what they are doing & it's just going to look like the rest of the Unreal slop with no soul.
@@MeadeJ67 I haven't used their previous engine (Slipspace?) but I've used in-house engines before and.. Unreal is much nicer for artists, 100%. But it's not magic. Unreal has it's own obstacles and one is, like you said, oversaturation. You can kinda pick an Unreal game out pretty quick It was the same with UE3, that UT3/Gears feel to everything
Unreal engine will just create new problems. I remember the Unreal Engine 3 rush and those games have been the jankiest and worst aging of that Gen. I don't see how that would be any different as what I'm seeing with Unreal Engine 5 games is the same old song and dance just in modern times
Unreal is like the ultra slop engine. Every game look and plays exactly the same. Shit, even Unity has shown the ability to be more unique in some cases.
15:52 Here is the thing: mods do not turn players into payers, especially not regular payers, so those business crackheads are not putting a single dime into further expanding modding platform. And given the recent digsite leak and how companies react to leaks, modding support is not coming to Xbox period.
I still wish this collection had the original credits for these games in it! Part of why Halo 4's ending hits so hard is the version of Never Forget that plays the credits, and that is totally lost in it's MCC remaster. Wish they'd change that
You have to wonder how much the leaker(s?) knew that doing this would be a one-way trip. I assume it was intentional but, damn. Crazy. Need me a bouble-darrelled tank rn
Or a one-way trip to hopefully bringing a whole bunch of more attention to the MCC. Maybe it's just the bouble shot of whiskey, but I am trying to see the light in this situation
I just want to see all the games brought under one engine. Every weapon, every armor ability, every grenade. Every map ever, every mission ever, and updated to work well with whatever monstrous playstyle this would breed.
All of the Bungie Halo's & most of 343's "Halo's" already run on the same engine. Heck, even their "new" Slipspace engine isn't all new like they claim, you can still see animations from the Bungie era pop up from time to time.
@@MeadeJ67Calling it "the same engine" is ridiculous, it is a constantly evolving and morphing landscape with deprecated features and functionality/technology/data that isn't identical nor interchangeable between games. I feel like slowly but surely Halo Studios is removing all the bits of hope that I had in me, going from excited about their unreal demo to being nervous about Halos future. I think they need to just shelve Halo. To respect the legacy. Make a new IP I don’t care just stop ruining Halo. If you don’t have people who can’t stop ruining it then it’s just time to shelf it. Whether that’s forever or way in the future when someone can actually do it right. That’s all I have to say
@ again just my opinion sorry I didn’t put IMPO way the beginning. Yeah it’s very narrow minded. But I haven’t seen anything positive for halo in like 10 years. Halo fell a long time ago and the heads of it now will never let it go back to the gamers first. It’s been made very clear that we don’t matter. So I mean make them listen, if we all stop consuming their product they will either have to restructure or fall. All the complaining people do on this game just might as well let it go. It was good back then and it will never be what it once was. The present of video games is micro transactions. Now weather that stands the test of time or not who know but the future of video games is bleak and I certainly don’t have hope. But again my opinion, you can have hope, I commend anyone who still has hope for anything now a days. Life fucking sucks and my hope has been long gone. Can’t even look forward to a video game anymore. It is what it is at this point. I just personally don’t think these companies will ever go back. They’re too far gone, they’ll go bankrupt before they get the fan first mentality again.
I hate to say it but I agree. Xbox doesn't know how to handle ANY of its IPs anymore. They let this happen to Halo. Why should we expect ANTHING of value from a company that let their flagship series fall into shit and irrelevancy?
@@PBart7I too also hate to say it but I agree! They need to shelve halo and make a spin-off halo game. They have not made 1 good complete game that all the fans can unanimously agree on as a complete good halo game. So essentially console gaming is dead. Gaming corporations have gone woke and the entire industry is against the male gamer, their main demographic…. So I have zero hope for games for the future. This Xbox series x is my last Xbox. PC in 5yrs maybe when my Xbox finally dies. May I take that into my next life.
I don't hate to say it. I just agree. Man true words have been spoken. Microsoft not having he player first mentally and propably never will. Shelving halo until they have people capable of handling it right. No more prerelease fun because you know it's corrupted in some way.... I am just glad I was there in the golden days. In a time when devs hid secret levels you might never see just because it was fun. Nowadays it has to always be about playtime and they have to promote everything.

343 is acting like a kid throwing a tantrum. WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE CAN'T ADD MICROTRANSACTIONS TO A COLLECTION OF REMASTERS?! That's it, we're never updating it again! (then they proceed to refrence the discontinued updates whenever possible)
To be fair, the changes to Reach were to bring it closer in line to how it looked originally, same with CE and H2. (though the film grain is still missing. I know some people hate it but i'd at least like it as an option so i can let it look just like the og release) Though ODST and H4 still need a glow-up to restore their visuals, it's a shame we probably won't get it now. Alongside casual Invasion, I wish we got matchmaking for Spartan Ops (H4 originally had this since its ass to play solo)
Reach is my favourite game of all time period. Sad MCC player count is dying and fkn INVASION is in competitive, like the game mode is the literal opposite of competitive. I would love to play it but can never find games.
It’s interesting to see the contrast between Half life 2’s 20’th anniversary and halo 2’s 20’th anniversary. One had a complete overhaul, improved mod support, and it was free. The other has been left to die, and had cosmetics made about it, for an unfinished cash grab.
Because Valve actually created their own games & they actually care about those game & their fans. They understand how important they are. Without those games & those fans they would be nothing today. On the other hand, Bungie crated Halo. Microsoft has just been cashing in the whole time. Sure, they funded the games, but they have nothing to do with their actual creation, they didn't put in any of the work. They only care about Halo if it's raking in money for them, otherwise they couldn't care less about the IP or the droves of insanely dedicated fans.
@@MeadeJ67I cared about Halo the same way Bungie did. Too bad they hired people at 343 that didn't know anything about what made Halo good. Not entirely MS's fault, is it?

What's funny is that the devs were doing this (with excellent stuff like Flood Firefight) just like Valve did until the MTX shit happened where Microsoft got greedy and wanted people to pay real money when Valve is happily doing updates free of charge. It's only after we told them no that they pulled the plug. It's pure greed and it's disgusting.

Half-Life is important to Valve, MCC is a gig to 343. They didn't make most of the games in it.
Also, add how Valve finished TF2's storyline after all those years, proving that they're also better than 343 when it comes to mishandling a franchise but later writing their own mistakes right
Well to be fair Valve gets all that extra underage gambling money, 343 only gets money from *new* sales
Halo never got the respect it deserves from 343. The lore breaking stories, redesigns, and multiplayer flops have disgraced this beloved franchise.
It needs the human touch but not many are capable of that these days unfortunately.
Microsoft hired people who specifically hate halo, and the customer.
The only thing worse than 343's chronic sabotage and mismanagement of the Halo IP is the fact that Microsoft has really never held them accountable for any of it.
because Microsoft IS 343. by sacking them they'd be sacking themselves.
...you do realize that over 90% of the shit people blame 343 for is microsoft's fault, right? this isn't just a 343 thing, because even most bungie employees will vouch for the fact that it's microsoft that keeps fucking them over, because microsoft did the exact same thing to them when they still worked on halo

@vincentmarcellino7183 is gona be even sader wen he pases away, but lord gabe looks like is in good shape AMEN.

Your comment doesn't even make sense. 🤣😂
I will never not be amused by gamers who expect a company like Microsoft to keep spending money on games nobody is playing. The MCC is dead on Steam, has been for 3 years. The average player count is less than 4000, Team Fortress 2 has 130,000. Do the maths.

This was one of the best halo retrospective videos I've ever watched, you are a mad lad.
Fun fact about Fallout 4, it's mod menu is pretty broken rn. Gotta love these game developers who can't get their shit together.
Halo studios is just 343i wearing a disguise but a really bad one like Clark Kent's glasses.
imo the problem with MCC is that what it started out as was clearly a marketing and live service platform intended to milk fans of classic Halo whilst advertising 343's upcoming games to them, rather than a genuine attempt to respectfully preserve the original series.
BOUBLE DARRYL
who else remembers this Vanoss GTA V video lmao?

Seems like greed is the main answer.
pretty shortsighted greed to remove longevity from a product
Halo MCC has its own sentimental value, I’m enjoying custom game browser (and that has been growing recently)! Happy new year🎉
I absolutely love Halo, but the mismanagement has got to be studied.
There is no way that CoD has stayed relevant IP year after year, even though at this point, it's become incredibly diluted, and Halo didn't keep up. Both of them were absolute power houses of online multiplayer games in the early 2000's how did we fall so far?

Just watched MintBlitz new video about the leaks and the Digsite team and all of this just has me thinking, "We lost."
The leak is the last good thing to happen to the Halo universe since Halo 3.
You can play coop with a mod now, it works really well.
@@aLTis94 I just feel like it's a no brainer that should be in the game without mods, and adding it would add a lot of value.
@@richpence it should 100% be in the base game. I bet it wouldn't even be hard for them to implement it.
You can kinda pick an Unreal game out pretty quick
It was the same with UE3, that UT3/Gears feel to everything
@@0lionheart And UE5 isnt even finished iirc?
Wish they'd change that
Halo 4 was the only good game 343 made
if they're soooo worried about profit
sell the MCC's rights
better yet, sell the franchise, they obviously despise the IP and the fans lol
When these sorts of videos start coming out, you know its over. RIP
There is a mod/s for arma 3 that has just about every weapon, vehicle, and (marine) armor from every game
The engine having the same name in multiple titles spanning many years is inconsequential.
Sad to see such a beloved franchise being killed by terrible decisions.
Bungie and 343 gonna go band for band on whos 10th anniversary "celebration" was worse 💀
Just take a look at how Halo Wars 2 support was secretly canceled and look at how MCC is being handled right now.

I feel like slowly but surely Halo Studios is removing all the bits of hope that I had in me, going from excited about their unreal demo to being nervous about Halos future.
I also feel like the blame falls mostly on Microsoft. I feel like Microsoft are the ones making HS pay Sperasoft, because they’d rather pay a “proper game studio” rather than a group of modders.
Microsoft and halo studios are one in the same.
@@jurassicarkjordanisgreat1778 eh, not really? Microsoft/Xbox are in charge of how much money each studio gets, and likely by extension are required to sign off on where the hell the money goes. They’d likely much rather have the money go to a formal game studio than a group of modders. I’m not saying this is the right thing to do, I’m just saying the blame falls mostly on Microsoft.
@@ChefandTheArbistor343i now Halo Studios was literally made by Microsoft to manage the Halo franchise following Bungie's departure. Microsoft owns them, and therefore they are a part of Microsoft.
@ I never said they weren’t part of Microsoft. I said they weren’t the same. Microsoft is in charge of literally everything financial, therefore shop prices, game prices, salaries, and out sourcing all go back to Microsoft and Xbox, Halo Studios don’t get the main say in those.
@@jurassicarkjordanisgreat1778 wrong, and MS has always been a hands off owner of these studios even openly stated by ex bungie employees, forza employees etc etc.

Can you stop caring about something so unimportant when the video is well made & the title actually does apply? What is the point of a comment like this aside from just being an unconstructive jerk? Don't answer that, I won't check back...
@@MeadeJ67What an unreasonable comment. We hope you stay true to your last sentence. 😂
That’s not how anything works, and shelving Halo isn’t the solution at all. That’s a very narrow minded way of thinking.
The community has been split and at each others throats over which game hit and which didn’t. When it’s clear with the demographics. No 343 game ever hit. Microsoft has failed Halo, they failed their handling of 343 and MS has failed Xbox. As an Xbox player since 2001. This is the end for me. Series x Xbox is my last Xbox. Like the OP my hope for the future of the gaming industry is dead. I have zero hope for the gaming industry. The last new big game was Fortnite. Let that sink in. Halo infinite failed hard, COD war zone got overran by cheaters, all CODs are like your playing the same game. SP games don’t hit to a player like me who likes online MP. Xbox cross playing against pc has made being an Xbox player feel like a delayed terrible experience on a slow piece of machinery, online MP pvp down to input delay and system deficiencies. The days of console verse console golden era is no more bc corporations have decided they want to maximise revenue as opposed to creating a good experience for the players. So essentially console gaming is dead. Gaming corporations have gone woke and the entire industry is against the male gamer, their main demographic…. So I have zero hope for games for the future. This Xbox series x is my last Xbox. PC in 5yrs maybe when my Xbox finally dies. Imma ride it into the ground and then maybe buy a Pc or in 5 it might be time to retire from gaming for good.
-As it were the end wasnt with a spectacular bang or anything of the sort it was with a sliver and a fizzle and then no more. Nothin significant about the end except for the fact that it happened at all.
-Halo 3 was the greatest online game ever. IMO. I’m still out here trying to finish the fight.
No one is talking about the sheer amount of work that went into this video... Laper, you've completely outdone yourself. MY GOD
INCREDIBLE VIDEO, the ending is ... Legendary
I will never understand why companies that make so much money are afraid to pay people or make things cheaper. Or better yet, treat their products with the respect it deserves
Born to love Halo, forced to watch Halo fall. I was there at its peak and it was beautiful. That wave is what gamers have been looking for ever since
To be fair, the changes to Reach were to bring it closer in line to how it looked originally, same with CE and H2. (though the film grain is still missing. I know some people hate it but i'd at least like it as an option so i can let it look just like the og release)
Though ODST and H4 still need a glow-up to restore their visuals, it's a shame we probably won't get it now.
Man invasion was my favorite when me and my brother played and were completely in sync, and now it's impossible to get a decent match
Loved og invasion
I cannot imagine a future without Halo MCC.

TBH what helped kill both Halo Wars was also the Meta. When an RTS turns into "how fast can I complete this match", that's it, the RTS is on the verge of death.
