The guitar at the beginning of the lyrics is a little sped up, "sometimes i feel like I don't have a partner..." it lands a little before it should.

When the second verse started I thought it was fast too but realized the guitarist is just more badass than I am. =P On a serious note... this song was played slower Live a few times in the 90's. Tempo tends to differ more often when your drummer isn't the one setting it. This version is spot on with the recorded stuff I found. so... SING FASTER! xD jk Cheers.
In the verses the fourth chord is wrong - it plays E, B, C# minor, G#, A. The G# should be a minor chord

Hmmm. The only thing i can suggjest is try turning the volume down on it Then sing louder. Then adjust the song accordingly to your voice so you can hear the music and not the voice

To me also... the verse parts seem a bit faster than the original.
The part is too fast is between the lines, you have to give a sec more when ending a line and starting another one.
