RHCP have always been one of the bands that is on everybody’s radar and although I really enjoyed several of their songs, I never got around to really hearing them for a long time. They have written songs that will be in eternity’s playbook for sure.
If you absolutely need to buy one album by this band I'd have to recommend BloodSugarSexMagik (1991). The whole album is just too godamn good from start to finish. 80's Peppers although a very underrated and underappreciated era is probably not for everyone, when BSSM was released it was such a massive success and probably one of their best selling albums next to Californication and Stadium Arcadium.

Not true. I've never been an addict. But I've definitely grew up around it and seen it. And this song hits hard. I've gone under bridges to find my dad. I've walked in on people OD'd. This is a beautifully sad song. But so is life
