Friends, grandkids, I will be answering more of these tomorrow. This list is long!! lol Oh my gosh!! I looked this morning and the list of comments on here is way to long for me to answer everyone, although I wish I could! lol
@@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer Skyrim is a beautiful game, but it's also an old game now, most secrets found and sights witnessed. You however are a treasure trove of personality and knowledge. I tune in at random times when I fall into the Skyrim rabbit hole again, but I think I speak for most of us when I say it'd be upsetting to see you go. And nothing is a waste of time if you're having fun. If you're not having fun anymore, then it's a waste, so stay strong and have fun!
To be honest, I think it's just that they actually want to say hi to you and appreciate you and the priority is indeed not so much the game. - I'm not a regular viewer, I just sometimes click a video. But I've noticed this from the start. - But I think perhaps if you make it more interactive from the start, people will get involved if they're interested. - Maybe the title of the video could also be more specific about an objective or even pose a question there, which will make people pay attention for it. - I mean, the sad fact of TH-cam is that a lot of it is based on the thumbnail and title to get people's attention. I know this is not that kind of channel, it's not about clicks/views/revenue, but to get people engaged it needs a draw to get people to watch, and even then there needs to be something to retain the attention. - Just being honest as to what it could be. :) - And, by the way, you don't HAVE to change anything, you can just do it your way or however you want. But there's ways of doing things with the presentation that creates different outcomes.
@@bassackwardsmoron2865 I'm having fun playing and I play often without recording. I was talking about viewers responses never mentioning the video itself.
Ultimately Shirley, it's up to you, especially if you're not enjoying it yourself. I bet there are plenty of people out there who do pay attention but do not comment. However, I can understand your frustration, I really enjoyed hearing you talk to us directly and it's a shame more people did not engage.
@@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer I'll try to very much. I always thought you probably wouldn't want to be bogged down by comments. I will try to leave one every video now. Much love and many blessings GrandMum 💕🙏
Generally speaking, people who comment are a tiny percentage of the people who watch a video. People who make relevant comments are always a fraction of a fraction. I'm sorry that your audience isn't as responsive as you'd like, Mrs. Curry, but know that it doesn't mean you aren't appreciated, listened or respected for what you do. That said, I hope you dedicate your time exclusively to what makes you feel good. Love from Italy 🙏
I think people enjoy seeing you play, I’ve been subscribed for a long time and tune in from time to time just to enjoy you having fun. I think doing both acting as the person and having a conversation with a viewer is a good idea!
Hey Shirley. Admittedly I don't watch super often, but when I do it's always a nice experience. With a lot of people who upload videos to TH-cam, the interaction is less about the game and more of a chat with the person recording and the audience, so a video like this is appreciated in making it clear what exactly you're looking for (that being, focusing on the game and gameplay). I hope you find a balance you enjoy and that your audience enjoys, if that's what you want. About Skyrim, what a breathtaking view! It amazes me how a game that's, what, something like 14 years old by now can still be so gorgeous. Sometimes I'm playing the game and I just have to put down my controller and stop to marvel at a view I wasn't even trying to get. Say what you will, but the mountains and rivers and rough terrain of Skyrim looks so beautiful when you take the time to look at it.
I am so glad you appreciate the game as much as I do. I think it is beautiful! I love the fact that it allows me the chance to play or just explore or just stare at it's beauty.
I think people like seeing YOU. The game is the vessel that we get to experience YOU. That being said, most viewers aren't commenters. I haven't watched much, for some reason you don't pop up on my feed until just now, but I enjoyed watching you play skyrim in the past. I think ultimately its up to you and what brings YOU joy.
The things you do should be always things YOU want to do. I mentioned that before. I am a silent viewer and don't comment often, but i do watch the videos. But yeah, do what you enjoy. 💚That's content creation is all about.
Hi Shirley. If it means anything, over the years I have subscribed to a few hundred TH-cam channels and a few days ago I decided it was time to "clean house" and only stay subscribed to the channels that I still truly enjoy and watch regularly. Your channel is one of the few dozen that I stayed subscribed to. You and EVNautilus are the only two channels that I have notifications set to ALL for, because I never want to miss a video of yours. I have never commented before today, but thought I'd share this in case it helps with your decision. The decision is yours and I know your followers support whatever path you decide to take, and I know that if you do decide to stop posting that you'll be dearly missed. Whatever your decision is, do what makes you happy and know that if you do decide to stop posting videos, if or when you decide to return, we'll all still be here.
Please don’t stop making these videos Shirley. These skyrim videos wouldn’t be as entertaining without you, since you bring a serene and enjoyable experience to it. You and skyrim have gone hand in hand for a while now and It’d be a shame to see you drop it after all this time. Thank you for all these videos, they’ve made my day more times than I can count.❤
@@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer I don’t remember the last time I’ve commented on any youtube video, since expressing myself isn’t really my strong suit. However this video made me want to give you my support and let you know that people do enjoy your content immensely.
Many TH-camrs would do anything to get the number of comments and loving words you get, even if it's not "on topic" as you wish. I'm not sure people will be happy being reprimanded. It's just a matter of accepting what you get, you're very lucky in my opinion.
Good Morning Grandma Shirley I love watching your gaming Skyrim videos. My Granddaughter Danielle & I both noticed this last game video that you were talking to us and to your game videos. We enjoyed it very much! And it sounded like you were having fun too! So as long as you enjoy doing the videos I would love to see them. Love & prayers, GmaSue Corso & Danielle granddaughter.
Hi ! Yes, I know you and Danielle watch! Thank you for replying to this. Have a good day. Maybe I should just delete those people I was talking about. What do you think? It would bring my comments way down! But I wouldn't care. LOL Enjoy Susan. I'll be glad when I can see you all again.
@@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer i think deleting comments that are just showing love for you would be a bad move. why delete positivity just because it isnt the exact comments you wanted to see? I'm not trying to be rude, i respect you a lot, but it is unlikely that all your fans will respond how you wish. i would appreciate any love and comments you get, and maybe only respond to the ones you want but deleting them just feels dismissive to the people taking the time out of their day to write something kind to you.
@@TheKikiNastyagree 💯 👍. I wish I had that many telling me they love me lol. As a matter of fact I can't remember the last time anyone ever told me they 'love me'. I've never had kids so it becomes lonely at my age 😢😢😢😢
987 thumbs up, 460 comments. I would consider that as someone out there is watching. You bring smiles and warm hearts to all. I'm not one that watches too often because I play other games and when I'm spending time on game videos, it is usually on games I'm currently playing. Perhaps there are others out there who no longer play Skyrim or just don't play it as much. For the ones that didn't catch on to you playing differently, please remember most of us have the attention span of a gnat:)
You aren't waisting your time, some people just love to listen to you, some people are too self conscious to comment/respond, for me I just love watching your content and soaking it in after a hard day, you have a viewer base even if its not huge, the people who say they love you are doing so because they dont want you to stop, the game is a factor in your content that people love, but they come here mostly for you, which in the grand scheme of the internet is rare, I hope you continue however if you choose not to that alright too its your channel, dont let this become a beacon of hatred for you dont let it burn you out again, we care about you, both your physical and mental health
I'm sorry you're tired of the love comments and heartfelt messages instead of more engagement, people adore you but they shouldn't feel bad because they aren't as engaging as you'd like down in the comments. not everyone who will watch a video will comment, not everyone who is subscribed and who cares about you will watch every video... but you have quite the blessed community here, which the fate of is ultimately in your hands and always was. this video has been up an hour and already had a hundred plus comments from your loving fans, that's something not everyone can experience and it might be good to step back and look at what you have, even if you've become desensitized to seeing nothing but loving messages, that doesn't make them any less sincere or valuable.
I personally enjoy when you do characters AND when you talk to us as you, at the end of the day I just enjoy you as a person and as long as you're enjoying it I'm happy to watch whichever type of video you'd like to do. Much love grandma 💜
@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer more often than not I don't leave comments at all, but I do enjoy your videos so I'm going to be more vocal about it going forward 😁
I'm not a super interactive person and fairly timid. I love your gentle and caring attitude and seeing you get excited. I dont comment very often anywhere, but i wanna let you know that no matter what you do, so long as it is with a smile, I'm with you.
@@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer I think it's more to do with previous ... incidents ... on the internet. Anonymity takes schoolground bullying up a level basically. No consequences for bullies, so the shier amongst us tend to keep our mouths shut to stay out of trouble :D :3 x
I think your new style of talking to us and being on camera again is really nice! I often watch your old playlists and had missed seeing you on camera during gameplay, so I think it’s been fun! That being said, I’ll watch any type of video you make haha. People probably just don’t always comment; lots of people probably relax and have your videos on while they work or do other things too - but hopefully these comments help!
Hi Jess! I love it when you talk to me. I also love the picture you use. I don't know why but as soon as I see it I'm happy and I smile. Thank you for being one of my regulars Jess!!!
@@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer aw shirley, I feel the same! seeing your videos and your icon is such a highlight for me! :) I appreciate you so much, and hope you're doing well! And know that i'm here to stay! No getting rid of me LOL.
I've never been one to comment much, and I havent seen the recent videos due to the busyness of the holiday season and trying to settle back into a "nornal" routine. That said, I couldn't leave this one unaddressed. I love hearing you talk to us grandkids (although at my age, I'm probably more likely to qualify as "son" than "grandson" 😉). Your return to the game inspired me to return to Skyrim also, after a year away. I'm almost ready to start a playthrough (still have some more tweaking to get all the mods working, including the "Grandma Shirley" mod 😁). You are an iconic legend in the Skyrim community, and I would hate to see that legend die out. Please don't give up on us!
I'm sorry grandma, I don't engage much, but for what it's worth, I come here for you. You could play any game you want, I'm here for it. The character role play is fun, but you yourself are the star in my eyes. Especially right now as I've got the flu, so watching you play and listening to your soothing commentary is a real lifesaver.
I'm glad that's helpful. Sorry that you're sick with the flu!! I'm mainly upset about no comments on the video because how else am I suppose to know what people think about things going on in the video.
Even if I have rarely ever commented and don't watch every video, knowing that you are here and doing this channel is not only heart-warming but is incredibly inspirational and reassuring.
Grandma, do what you like to do in the game and post. I don't come to your channel alot, but each time I'm here it makes me feel sooo happy and proud to see the gameplay that you do. I'm sure we all will support you with what ever you pick! lots of love
Hi Shirley! You have to realize that you’ve made quite a name for yourself!! Don’t let it get you down. Look at any big-time streamer, and you’ll see their comment sections and live chats are FULL of ridiculousness, or just people trying to get a “hello” like it’s an autograph. It doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy watching you play! But at the same time, if streaming is taking away from your personal enjoyment of the game, then maybe you should take some time to focus on you! No matter what, know that you are and forever will be a loved and cherished member of the gaming community!! ❤️
@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer I've commented in the past, saying you really keep the love of The Elder Scrolls alive for me. But I've been just lurking as of late 😁🩶
I watch your videos (or listen to them) when I am anxious and am struggling to sleep. Your stories are wonderful and keep my mind distracted from whatever was worrying me until I sleep. Because of this though, I am usually too tired while listening to trust my memory and give meaningful reactions to the content of your stories the next morning. I have also never played a game like Skyrim or anything like it before, and gaming in general is unfamiliar to me, so I always worry that I don’t know enough to make an informed comment. That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy these videos though! I love them. Anyway, I hope you continue to do whatever makes you happy.
when i click on your skyrim videos, its usually cause i like having your voice in the background while i play skyrim. your voice is so nice, and its kinda like having a second person there with you. This is very common for a lot of people who play games. and othertimes i watch cause its a very pleasant experience to fall asleep too(pleasant person and pleasant game). almost like having people in the house. i hope youll keep posting skyrim videos. wether you talk as the person youre playing or yourself. because i really enjoy these videos. but in the end, whats most important is that you enjoy it.
@@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer It seems like there's been some difficulty in feeling motivated for Skyrim and in making your TH-cam content for these past couple of years. I can imagine it's hard to find motivation to make all this effort if it feels like people aren't even seeing it or sharing their appreciation. As others have said in this video and in your past videos, please do what you wish and what is fun for you. Spend your time as you want it to be spent. An audience will enjoy your time only as much as you are enjoying it. And if you're not having fun with your show, then you don't need an audience for it. Ultimately, we just want you to be happy in whichever you choose.
For me, 99% of the time I’m watching TH-cam on my TV which is why I don’t comment as I’m usually watching a bunch of my subscriptions while eating dinner. But I watch just about every video (I’ve been here since Broud The Blade!) and am a subscriber.
Dear Shirley Curry AKA Skyrim Grandma If what you truly want is to stop playing for others and start playing just for yourself take that leap into a whole new world, But I do hope that I speak for many others when I say that watching you from time to time helps me with depression and lifts my spirit every time I watch you play, it shows me that even with age I can still do the things I love to do. I also look forward to seeing what new stories and places that you will discover and adventure. God bless you and May The Nine Guide You On Your Journey Forward.
I really enjoy watching your playthroughs at night before bed and eventually falling asleep to them with your voice in the background. It's very soothing, and it reminds me of the times I spent with my own grandmother playing games before she passed on in life. Do what you enjoy, Shirley, there will always be those of us here watching you - for you. ❤
I just started watching your channel's videos recently for when I'm waking up in the morning and logging in to do work. I find your videos relaxing and really help me get centered before I start an 8 hour day as I'm working from home. Personally, I'd love to see more!
Hello Mrs. Curry! I watch you every once in a great while, and I normally pay attention to the story you craft and play. I feel a little lost because I don't watch often enough to know the entire story so I tend to drift off and let it play in the background with you and your story serving as a calming and reassuring presence to my day. I feel like I want to start on of your stories from the beginning and sink into it like one would a good book, but I feel guilty with the time spent and I feel anxious/antsy to not be doing anything myself. However I have not been able to truly focus on multiple things at one time in years so by not giving your video my full attention I miss the story as it develops. I am not here to really answer your question. What I just shared was my perspective on your channel as someone who only watches on rare occasions. I appreciate and love your content. I'm not sure the youtube comments section is the best place for your viewers to discuss your stories. Perhaps a discord or sub reddit may be better? A different place for viewers to go specifically to discuss might foster a deeper conversation if that's what you hope for, kind of like a book club. Otherwise I think people just enjoy seeing you and having you be a part of their lives. If nothing more than to be that calming reassurance. They may not deeply follow every story you craft, but it is clear that you've touched and helped so many and been a part of their own stories. Whatever you decide, whatever will bring you happiness, know that you are loved. And thank you! ❤
Shirley respectfully you have to understand the novelty of you playing a game like Skyrim, there's an appeal there because you're an older woman playing a game generally enjoyed by younger people. I was around when you came into the limelight of sorts and I remember the sentiment was very much surprise and amusement, but it was all wrapped up in the feeling of sentimentality. You are something else besides the average lets player, you aren't a high energy try hard who seeks attention in a boisterous manner. You are a genuine person, someone who is known to all of us in a way. You are caring Matriarchal figure, like our Grandmothers, Mothers, Aunts and Teachers. In short you are familiar and so you are loved. On the subject of the game and people referencing the game in the comments, you have to understand that Skyrim is a game that's been out for awhile and so the engagement will inherently be limited by that fact. Not to mention you yourself are not a new player, so people prone to giving advice and watching for your reactions on new things is also limited. If you notice a trend with lets players and their engagement, you'll see that videos that garner a lot of attention are new games and first time reactions. So essentially the people watching you play Skyrim aren't here for those reasons, they're here for you. We're just along for the ride and we're content with you being you.
@@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamerapologies. I didn’t realize a lot of the comments were unrelated to the story of your gameplay. I will make a better effort in commenting, cheers!
Good morning grandma ♡ I've been watching your channel for several years but I don't usually comment because I feel shy. All of your videos cheer me up the second I see that notification. I love both ways you play the game; talking to us as your character feels more immersive, and talking to us personally feels more friendly. I think a lot of people just don't often comment on YT videos (like myself), or if someone else has said what we were going to say, we just like it instead of flooding your comment section with the same comment over & over again. But also, now that you've brought it up, I, at least, will comment more often ❤ We love all of your content, and we just like to see you happy, grandma.
Thank you. I want to know what people are enjoying in a video because that's what makes it worth my time. Otherwise I'd prefer just playing for myself, but I enjoy interacting with my viewers. Being shy has nothing to do with commenting on something in a video. No one sees you or knows you, so what is there to be shy about??
Would miss seeing you play but if that's what you want and or need to do to be happy I'll support you either way. - lot of love to you Grandma Shirley!
I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Sometimes people click on videos to relax and tune out. Not everyone wants to interact, but it seems even the people who don’t want to interact still want to say hi to you and tell you they love you. And since I have your attention- hi I love you.
hi! i understand your predicament. the thing with posting gaming videos is that people generally watch the games because of the person playing it, not just because of the game itself. showing appreciation for the person playing the game is often more common than the gameplay itself from what i've noticed about other people who post gaming videos too; but that doesn't mean no one is watching the gameplay. a lot of people who watch videos don't even comment or like or anything; they just watch, and i understand how that can be frustrating: to feel like all of your effort is going to waste because it looks like no one is appreciating it. the truth is, you are an icon in the skyrim community, and that isn't going to change. you are known and loved across the world. it's a shame you don't get to see all of the love for you and your content just from youtube comments. i personally really enjoy watching you play the game and i know there are others who do, too, even if they don't comment. even so, it's your choice on whether you continue to post or not. if you enjoy talking to us, you could maybe try out livestreaming? i know that's an entirely different thing, but it would mean you could interact with your audience as you play live, and you'd get to see reactions and comments in real time. it might be hard to get going initially, but it is an option if you feel that youtube isn't working for you. much love from australia!
Please keep going grandma! I adore watching your videos. I rarely comment on TH-cam videos but i watch your videos from beginning to end and love still getting to adventure through skyrim with you while im doing housework!
I'm watching your videos from time to time but the thing that keeps me going back is you having fun. It doesn't matter if you're in character or out of character. And true I love your roleplay ideas for characters and their backstories but as I said - you truly having a good time is of paramount importance for the videos. Greetings Grandma ^^
I'm not a regular viewer, but I think it's good that you let people know how you've been feeling. Often a lot of creators dont engage much with their comments, so comments can feel a lot like throwing words to a void. Many viewers likely just enjoy the content and didn't even think about the comments. Also I'd like to say your voice can be relaxing. The long form nature of your videos makes them decent to listen to as someone falls asleep. The stories you tell are meaningful to many people. Whether you want to talk more as yourself or as the character you're playing. Do what makes you happy. Do both even if you wish. I hope your passion doesn't burn out, but don't force yourself to do something you dislike. ❤
I have been really enjoying this series! I am just a silent watcher! There are many of us! I love when you role-play and make the voices and the backstories. Just the other day, I was rewatching your alchemist series. But I mostly also watch to hear you chat with us, that’s why I also watch your vlogs! I’m just shy Grandma!
Unfortunately some people don't have time to watch, but that doesn't mean we don't care. Also some people gave never played or seen the game, or are brand new commenters. We simply enjoy the company, like best friends sitting on a couch. Also, the TH-cam algorithm doesn't push this channel as much as other channels. If you love it, continue making videos. If you're unhappy or discontent, maybe start a new game like Fallout. You have 1.3+ million subscribers at your command. Say the word, and we obey. Always be yourself. We all love you
I say the word "Leave me comments about the game please". That does no good. This is why the algorithm isn't good. Most of those people never talk to me about the game or never came back. There is a HUGE difference between the Subscribers and the Commenters!!
it's not about the game, we've all played this game already, we know how it looks. we want to see YOU experiencing game for the first time and having fun with it like we had.
Hello Shirley, I love watching your videos. I have to say I don't watch all of them or not in their globality but I love to watch them from time to time. As a creator of content myself (I'm an illustrator), I realized that the engagement of people towards my work was going down gradually... I thought it was maybe a lost of interest... Maybe it is, but I noticed also that my use of social media was changing gradually: I was less commenting, liking, engaging with the content I was watching. And it seems to be the case for a lot of people... So it's a combination of these factors that lead to the situation you're facing now when you feel less seen, less followed. So if I can offer you an advise, it is to create for yourself, for your own pleasure. Share it with the world without wondering what people want to see. Do what you love without waiting for comments or likes. I don't know if you monetize your videos, so this would be another issue but I don't think this is the case. If it's only for your pleasure only that you're doing this, please continue. It's cool.
I watch/listen to your Skyrim-Videos every Night to relax and fall asleep. When I miss too much I‘ll replay the Video the next Night. I rarely leave a comment under any Videos on TH-cam. With 3 Kids under 5 I have Limited time to watch anything. I hope you keep making Skyrim content. But I want you to enjoy this, too. Have a good night, me and my 4 Months old will be listening to you the Next hour PS: that picture you took for the Video is beautiful. Your Videos give me a whole new expirience of the Game.
Shirley, I really, really enjoy watching your gameplay. I rarely speak on your gameplay because I don't want to interfere with your play. I get lost in watching. I did enjoy your more relaxed style of just talking in simple conversation. I just responded in my head as you chatted like a real conversation. Just as you couldn't see me watching, you couldn't hear my answers, that doesn't invalidate either of our sides. Part of the magic of what you do is sweep the viewer away in your moments as I watch them unfold. Just know when you said, "I can never stay on the path...", many of us were thinking or saying, "I can't either! I wander all over the place no matter where I'm headed." and chuckled. Having said all that, please do what makes you comfortable.
To be honest I rarely ever comment on stuff I watch, but I just want to say, you are a very wonderful person to say the very least! Do whatever you want, I say. I'm sorry the engagement isn't quite what you'd maybe expect.. I guess that's just how it goes online these days (?). The fact you've got people viewing, even if they're not commenting, I'm sure they're paying attention to you and enjoying what you're doing! Honestly I just don't know what to say.. I'm sure others have also mentioned similar better than I ever could! I wish you all the best and whatever you end up deciding to do will be fine, I'm sure of it! :]
Hi Grandma, I don't comment on things much but I know I speak for many when I say you are a treasure and it absolutely warms my heart to see someone enjoy an amazing game for what it is and want to share that enjoyment with others. You should keep doing what makes you happy, and if that's playing skyrim for yourself then so be it but I know that you and your content make the internet a better, more wholesome place and you never fail to brighten my day.
I enjoy your channel. You bring such a relaxing experience with each of your videos, and Skyrim is an enjoyable game to me even though I've never played it myself. All in all, I love watching your videos, and they make me very happy, thanks Shirley!
Hey Grandma!! I just left a comment on the other video from 3 days ago when you asked which way we like to watch you play, but I'll say it again here in case you didn't see it, I vote for you to play and talk with us! I think I prefer it that way. As opposed to talking as the character. I laughed alot while I was watching that video haha! I'm working on a project for you so I'm finally able to sit down and catch up on your last few videos as I work on it 🥰 I hope you're staying warm!! Since I'm only 2 hours North of you, I'm getting all the snow too! It's snowing again right now. I even had to call off work Monday cuz my car wouldn't start! My car is a wimp in the cold.. I even let it run for 30 minutes the night before so that wouldn't happen.. but it did anyway 🤦 oh well! ❄️
Seeing the calming image of the game makes me want to finally get Skyrim and actually start playing it. I fully appreciate the videos and fully appreciate the time and effort that goes into the videos.
Hi Grandma, I watch from time to time - I adore you get into the roleplay of the game character. People are watching and absorbing, but the comments they make may not necessarily be of the game. I think it’s because we’ve all created a relationship with you, and we genuinely enjoy watching you game, so our comments tend to err on the side of creating a connection with you. I know it’s frustrating not getting much engagement in-game wise but don’t be put off it.
Finding these scenic locations in Skyrim was one of my favorite things about it when I played. It makes me feel like an adventurer more than any of the quests.
Hi Grandma, I've never commented on one of your videos before, but I enjoy just watching you roleplay in your own way, the bit of chat is really nice every now and then too, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who watches and doesn't comment, maybe we should be more engaged and comment more!
hey shirley! im a casual watcher, and i just love listening to you talk while i go about my day, i'll be honest i hardly comment or give my opinion on the gameplay because, while i love RPG games and D&D, i never played Skyrim, so i dont know much about this game, still your gameplay is enjoyable to me, and i hope to play this game too when i have the time!... and hopefully when i understand the game better i hope to be able to give you my opinion and be able to comment with more confidence :) much love from Brazil
Shirley, I'm 53 years old. I've been a gamer since I was 12 years old. Been playing Skyrim since its release in 2011. PLEASE don't stop making Skyrim videos!! For me personally, it doesn't matter what you talk about when you play Skyrim. It's about sharing the experience of the game with other players, and seeing you get to certain places in the game that I've also been to. To give you some perspective, I've watched your Skyrim videos in the past while painting Warhammer miniatures, I have you on like the same way as watching a podcast or a documentary. It is so enjoyable watching you enjoy a game that I also enjoy!! Plus it's so awesome to see another gamer who is not the typical age we tend to assume most or all gamers to be!
I definitely love watching the Skyrim content. I just got back into it again. I’m not one to always comment though. I would like that you continue to play. Absolutely. Either way it’s totally up to you. As long as you enjoy yourself.
I feel this 100%. I was doing stock trading videos for a while explaining EVERYTHING for FREE. And people either wouldn't engage or say I was scamming. I finally just stopped. And I'll retain the information for myself. Regarding skyrim, I've always wondered if you've completed the Thieves Guild and what your favorite quest has been.
I understand the sentiment,I’m not an avid viewer, even if I do enjoy watch you play the game,I feel like I don’t really have a word here but I also don’t want to just say “do what you want!” Like the others,so I will just say ,there are people who will just say hi an hello if you continue but there will also be people even if they are few who will see and enjoy whatching your gameplay or just your presence in general, but if you feel like you would enjoy the game more if you played while not recording that’s also fine.
I personally just like to listen to you as you talk, you could play any game in any style and we would still love to watch. Skyrim is a beautiful game and it's fun to watch but you are the main draw. I'm sorry if it bothers you and If you decide to stop that fine. Thank you for your time and your story's. Best of luck and happy adventures
@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer I struggle a lot with anxiety and commenting on public forums usually, I have commented once or twice on my public account on some of the things I've enjoyed about your content. personally I like the way you breathe life into the characters and how every story feels like a new experience. I do apologise for my lack of interaction. I can't speak for everyone else however. I think you should do what you feel is best to you, of course if you wish to take into account our opinions and thoughts I think you'll find the majority wish for you to be happy with what you play/upload/partake in. if it brings you joy it'll be more likely to bring us (fans of you) joy. I look to you as a comfort creator, you remind me of my grandma whom I lost, and I also find your content very soothing and relaxing to just have on when I want to unwind from the anxieties in my life. I particularly like the approaches you have for certain playthroughs, you definitely bring the stories to life. and although I am not a responsive type of viewer I hope this feedback helps. take care of yourself, God bless. whatever you decide you have my support as someone who got introduced to you as the gaming granny who played one of my all time favourite games (Skyrim obviously). Thank you for that, and for you.
Love Skyrim, love watching you play because you take your time, enjoy, and talk about the things I do or don’t like. My girlfriend and I both started playing Skyrim again and she aspires to be like you, she anticipates she will play the game for decades. So it’s always fun seeing someone enjoy the game as much as we do in a genuine way, and it’s also funny when you get annoyed by things that we also get annoyed by, like when a follower is constantly getting in the way. We can share all these similar experiences and enjoy them by watching. If you enjoy making these videos I know a lot of people enjoy watching. It’s your channel and you can choose how you like to play and interact, it’s all up to you. It’s good to make a video how you did here and interact with the community. If you ever didn’t want to make videos because you were no longer having fun people would understand, at the same time people are always delighted to see a new video from you As long as you’re having fun!
I'm usually a silent watcher. I enjoyed them mix of commentary the other day. I'm afraid I won't be engaging much yet as I have a bad case of muddle brain at the moment from Covid. Play as you wish, of course, is always my answer to creators.
Completely fair to be feeling this way Shirley, I am a new viewer however I have recently tuned into your current series and have been enjoying what you have done so far in your adventure as I have recently just started playing Skyrim for the first time, I would also just like to say a great big thanks to all your videos and dedication to your audience I think you are a beautiful person and ultimately you should put your happiness first foremost but what you do in the end is entirely up to you like others have mentioned, Much love and appreciation keep doing what you love All the best.
@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer I love how you read storys especially in the Skyrim world being able to tune in and listen feels magical, This was the first time I have commented I believe 🙂
I enjoy you talking to us, I haven't tuned in in a while... but this video felt nice. I no longer have any living grandparents and hearing you once again say "Good Morning, Grandkids!" made me so happy... as I'll never hear that from mine ever again.
Been watching for years, glad you can find the game fun after so long. Even if just for yourself I hope you have a good one, but I am glad to hear from you. I saw a video at some point from someone about cooking in Skyrim, I've never tried cooking in Skyrim but if you happen to know any good stuff in Skyrim that could help I would appreciate it. Hope you have a good new year.
Dear Shirley, I just stumbled upon your video today, what a gorgeous voice you have, listening to you talk about anything would make my happy. With regard to your question, even though I haven't seen you play Skyrim, I would say do something you love instead of catering to what you think others would like. Best wishes and happy new year from snowy Canada.
Grandma Shirley I love listening to you speak, especially when you talk to us. I appreciate you so much, and your play throughs with your characters. It gives me ideas and inspiration in my own game. Your true fans will always be here for YOU. Thank you for another video 🥰🥰🩷
I don't know that I've ever commented before but I watch a LOT of your videos for the gaming and your storytelling. I love your imagination and what you come up with for your characters. We're out here I promise!
Sometimes it's necessary to take a break for mental health. I enjoy watching you play, although I'm not on TH-cam a whole lot. Do the thing that makes you feel the best. If you grow to miss what you didn't do, you can always change when you need.
I love riverside chats. Honestly those locations where you can see the fish jumping just capture me and I have to stop and watch a while. I still recall the first time I played this game, 11/11/11, and walking away from Riverwood and seeing the fish jump at the first falls. I was just stuck. I must have stood there in game for twenty minutes. I had the music low and was just listening to the water, the birds, the breeze moving the trees (and the trees actually moving). I was just stuck, and knew then I would be captured by this game for a very long time. And then there was this wolf ...
Good morning, Grandma! I don't comment on many TH-cam videos, so sorry for frustrating you! I just want to say that I enjoy both your Skyrim videos and your vlogs. Hearing you interact with the audience is a calming way to start the day, and watching your adventures as you play the character is entertaining. Ultimately, I think you should do what you enjoy the most.
Good evening, grandma. I've been a subscriber for a while now, but tend to watch late at night when I'm relaxing in bed. This is only the second time I've commented on your videos. I'm sorry I've been a bad grandson - I will do better! I think what most of us grandkids want is to spend time with you and see you enjoying yourself. Skyrim is a beautiful world. I find it peaceful and relaxing, at least whenever you're not in combat. I've never actually played the game myself, so the world of Skyrim is still pretty new to me. Ultimately, though, if it's not fun for you anymore then please don't feel obligated to spend time on it. Personally, I get just as much enjoyment watching your vlogs and live streams.
One more thing to add: Have you thought about live streaming your gameplay sessions instead of prerecording? I know it might be difficult to keep up with reading chat while trying to play a game, but maybe that would be more rewarding & help you feel more connected to your audience (rather than feeling like you're recording and no one is paying attention)
I’ve only been subscribed for almost a year, and sometimes will comment but I’ve watched some of the videos. About Skyrim one of my favorite moments is at night with the northern lights and when the sun is coming up which is absolutely breathtaking! Hope you continue to make videos when you feel like it, and don’t push yourself too hard.
I've been watching and loving you a long time sister...I'm a senior also, albeit a different breed than most! Don't be salty, I'll wager that most of your die hard fans don't usually comment...we still watch and love you though! 🤗
Shirley, we've always loved watching you play the game, both as the characters and as yourself. What we enjoy about your videos is watching YOU experience the game in the ways that make it the most fun for you; it ironically reminds us of our childhood, grandma shirley
Do you think it is something I have never seen in all the years I've been playing? In the middle of which picture?... the place where I'm at in this video or did you mean in the middle of Skyrim? Let me know where you ment and I'll go look.
Friends, grandkids, I will be answering more of these tomorrow. This list is long!! lol
Oh my gosh!! I looked this morning and the list of comments on here is way to long for me to answer everyone, although I wish I could! lol
@@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer take your time, I'm sure you have plenty to read on and many opinions, enjoy the rest of your day!
@@michaelmonstar4276 Thank you very much for your comment which was the most helpful on I received. Thank you! :)
Ultimately Shirley, it's up to you, especially if you're not enjoying it yourself.
I bet there are plenty of people out there who do pay attention but do not comment.
However, I can understand your frustration, I really enjoyed hearing you talk to us directly and it's a shame more people did not engage.
So true, only three times in all these years. Maybe that's what we should be doing, commenting more often. Cheers ☕
@@MarbleThumbs Agreed
Thank you!
@@GurgieGirl Of course! That's what I've asked for so many times.
@@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer I'll try to very much. I always thought you probably wouldn't want to be bogged down by comments. I will try to leave one every video now. Much love and many blessings GrandMum 💕🙏
I always turn off the comments and live streams when I play.
You would enjoy the game even more when everything is turned off. Trust me.
This is very true.
😗🍑
I am so glad you appreciate the game as much as I do. I think it is beautiful! I love the fact that it allows me the chance to play or just explore or just stare at it's beauty.
I watch at night as I'm lying down on my bed until I fall asleep. It's like a bedtime story for me
I'll be honest, sometimes I only last for like 5-10 minutes til I fall asleep. Can't help it.. Granny's voice is really soothing and relaxing
I think people like seeing YOU.
The game is the vessel that we get to experience YOU.
That being said, most viewers aren't commenters.
I haven't watched much, for some reason you don't pop up on my feed until just now, but I enjoyed watching you play skyrim in the past.

Thank you! Do you comment to me when you watch?
@@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer I don’t remember the last time I’ve commented on any youtube video, since expressing myself isn’t really my strong suit. However this video made me want to give you my support and let you know that people do enjoy your content immensely.
Many TH-camrs would do anything to get the number of comments and loving words you get, even if it's not "on topic" as you wish. I'm not sure people will be happy being reprimanded. It's just a matter of accepting what you get, you're very lucky in my opinion.
Noooo grandma we love the Skyrim videos 🥺
Good Morning Grandma Shirley
I love watching your gaming Skyrim videos.
My Granddaughter Danielle & I both noticed this last game video that you were talking to us and to your game videos. We enjoyed it very much!
And it sounded like you were having fun too!
So as long as you enjoy doing the videos I would love to see them.
Love & prayers,
GmaSue Corso & Danielle granddaughter.
Beautifully said. Gratitude goes a long way! ❤
Very well said.
Grandma obviously doesn't like the OPs comment, she liked the others. She seems frustrated.
I personally enjoy when you do characters AND when you talk to us as you, at the end of the day I just enjoy you as a person and as long as you're enjoying it I'm happy to watch whichever type of video you'd like to do. Much love grandma 💜
Thank you! Do you leave me comments about the game?
@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer more often than not I don't leave comments at all, but I do enjoy your videos so I'm going to be more vocal about it going forward 😁
I enjoy watching you either way you talk to us, in character or as yourself
That wasn't what I was mainly asking
I'm not a super interactive person and fairly timid.
I love your gentle and caring attitude and seeing you get excited.
I dont comment very often anywhere, but i wanna let you know that no matter what you do, so long as it is with a smile, I'm with you.
I don't know you, I can't see you, so what is there to be 'timid' about??

I just discovered your channel! Please don't stop, yet! I enjoy watching people play it still!!
Even if I have rarely ever commented and don't watch every video, knowing that you are here and doing this channel is not only heart-warming but is incredibly inspirational and reassuring.

I like hearing you in character, but it's nice hearing the real Shirely talking to the camera also. 📖📜
Do you watch and comment to me about the game?
@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer I've commented in the past, saying you really keep the love of The Elder Scrolls alive for me. But I've been just lurking as of late 😁🩶
Hi Grandma, I only started watching this series today. I love it. I really enjoy the Grandma Shirley narration.
I love watching your videos! I'm not great with comments, but I really love listening to your stories and your gameplay!
I don't enjoy posting it if no on comments about the video
No matter what, the skyrim community is so proud of you! Thank you for everything!
For me, 99% of the time I’m watching TH-cam on my TV which is why I don’t comment as I’m usually watching a bunch of my subscriptions while eating dinner. But I watch just about every video (I’ve been here since Broud The Blade!) and am a subscriber.
Dear Shirley Curry AKA Skyrim Grandma
If what you truly want is to stop playing for others and start playing just for yourself take that leap into a whole new world,
But I do hope that I speak for many others when I say that watching you from time to time helps me with depression and lifts my spirit every time I watch you play, it shows me that even with age I can still do the things I love to do.
I also look forward to seeing what new stories and places that you will discover and adventure.
God bless you and May The Nine Guide You On Your Journey Forward.
I hope you will leave me more comments, and about what you are watching in the game, too. :)
I watch the gameplay but I don’t comment much ever. You’re my favorite Skyrim TH-camr, I love the roleplaying you do
Not commenting doesn't let me know if anyone is watching the story
But also, now that you've brought it up, I, at least, will comment more often ❤
We love all of your content, and we just like to see you happy, grandma.
Thank you. I want to know what people are enjoying in a video because that's what makes it worth my time. Otherwise I'd prefer just playing for myself, but I enjoy interacting with my viewers. Being shy has nothing to do with commenting on something in a video. No one sees you or knows you, so what is there to be shy about??
@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer That makes sense! And now that you mention it, I don't know why LOL it's just the internet
Would miss seeing you play but if that's what you want and or need to do to be happy I'll support you either way. - lot of love to you Grandma Shirley!
I understand what you mean shirly, Im a creative when I make something I want people to analyze it.
I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Sometimes people click on videos to relax and tune out. Not everyone wants to interact, but it seems even the people who don’t want to interact still want to say hi to you and tell you they love you. And since I have your attention- hi I love you.
And I’m at the part of the video where you asked for interaction. Why don’t you find out where the river is coming from?
hi! i understand your predicament. the thing with posting gaming videos is that people generally watch the games because of the person playing it, not just because of the game itself. showing appreciation for the person playing the game is often more common than the gameplay itself from what i've noticed about other people who post gaming videos too; but that doesn't mean no one is watching the gameplay. a lot of people who watch videos don't even comment or like or anything; they just watch, and i understand how that can be frustrating: to feel like all of your effort is going to waste because it looks like no one is appreciating it.
the truth is, you are an icon in the skyrim community, and that isn't going to change. you are known and loved across the world. it's a shame you don't get to see all of the love for you and your content just from youtube comments. i personally really enjoy watching you play the game and i know there are others who do, too, even if they don't comment. even so, it's your choice on whether you continue to post or not. if you enjoy talking to us, you could maybe try out livestreaming? i know that's an entirely different thing, but it would mean you could interact with your audience as you play live, and you'd get to see reactions and comments in real time. it might be hard to get going initially, but it is an option if you feel that youtube isn't working for you.
much love from australia!
Well, leave me comments about what's going on in the story
I know there are many of you, which doesn't help me a bit
Well, it isn't for the first time. I've played Skyrim for years and years
Hello Shirley, I love watching your videos. It's cool.
I love watching you play Skyrim and watching your experience and your love is generally loving to see how you do this
I watch/listen to your Skyrim-Videos every Night to relax and fall asleep. When I miss too much I‘ll replay the Video the next Night. I rarely leave a comment under any Videos on TH-cam.
With 3 Kids under 5 I have Limited time to watch anything.
I hope you keep making Skyrim content. But I want you to enjoy this, too.
Have a good night, me and my 4 Months old will be listening to you the Next hour
PS: that picture you took for the Video is beautiful.
This is my first time ever seeing a shiley curry video. my interest is peaked
piqued
Leave a comment about the game once in a while :)
I fully appreciate the videos and fully appreciate the time and effort that goes into the videos.
friend have you not yet tried skyrim?
Then I hope you leave me comments about the story
Hi Grandma,
I watch from time to time - I adore you get into the roleplay of the game character.
I like the adventuring. Do you leave me comments?
Great scene; love watching the clouds go by but very worried a saber cat was about to pounce on you!
Hi Grandma, I've never commented on one of your videos before, but I enjoy just watching you roleplay in your own way, the bit of chat is really nice every now and then too, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who watches and doesn't comment, maybe we should be more engaged and comment more!
Well, people who never comment is my problem
hey shirley! im a casual watcher, and i just love listening to you talk while i go about my day, i'll be honest i hardly comment or give my opinion on the gameplay because, while i love RPG games and D&D, i never played Skyrim, so i dont know much about this game, still your gameplay is enjoyable to me, and i hope to play this game too when i have the time!... and hopefully when i understand the game better i hope to be able to give you my opinion and be able to comment with more confidence :)
much love from Brazil
Hope you leave me a comment once in a while :)
This is so cool. A grandmother that plays Skyrim. I just found your channel. I hope you keep playing. I cannot play. I will watch.
I love the background and I do watch every video over and over
I personally just like to listen to you as you talk, you could play any game in any style and we would still love to watch. Skyrim is a beautiful game and it's fun to watch but you are the main draw. I'm sorry if it bothers you and If you decide to stop that fine. Thank you for your time and your story's. Best of luck and happy adventures
No matter what...I'll be here watching if you choose to post. Whatever makes you happy is what matters most.
Who doesn't love Skyrim! I have no idea how many playthroughs I have done or watched. Keep on doing what you do my dear!
Were always watching grandma!
Whatever you decide to do!! We will always love and support you! ❤️❤️❤️
Support me how? I want comments about the video.
I love both the characters and when you play for yourself. it's really whatever brings you more joy from the game that brings joy to me. god bless.
Do you ever comment to me on the videos, what you like that's going on it?
You are Awesome
I love reading peoples comments and what they are saying about the game I posted that day. Do you leave comments for me about the game?
@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer I love how you read storys especially in the Skyrim world being able to tune in and listen feels magical, This was the first time I have commented I believe 🙂
I enjoy you talking to us, I haven't tuned in in a while... but this video felt nice. I no longer have any living grandparents and hearing you once again say "Good Morning, Grandkids!" made me so happy... as I'll never hear that from mine ever again.
Leave me comments then, about the game from time to time. Glad to see you here.
But I want my TRUE fans to talk to me about the video
👍
Good morning, Grandma! I don't comment on many TH-cam videos, so sorry for frustrating you! I just want to say that I enjoy both your Skyrim videos and your vlogs. Hearing you interact with the audience is a calming way to start the day, and watching your adventures as you play the character is entertaining. Ultimately, I think you should do what you enjoy the most.
What I enjoy most is reading comments from people who are watching the video, saying something about what is going on.
very nice video,,thank you very much shirley curry,,wish you many views and many subscribers to your very nice channel for the new year
Do you comment to me about the videos?
@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer yes, your videos are very interesting, thank you very much for your nice channel
Love you Grandma! 👵
I've been watching and loving you a long time sister...I'm a senior also, albeit a different breed than most! Don't be salty, I'll wager that most of your die hard fans don't usually comment...we still watch and love you though! 🤗
Good morning, I still love your videos ❤️, I congratulate your commitment to Skyrim.
Shirley, we've always loved watching you play the game, both as the characters and as yourself.
What we enjoy about your videos is watching YOU experience the game in the ways that make it the most fun for you; it ironically reminds us of our childhood, grandma shirley
I love watching your videos their awesome
Please don't end with this. I really enjoy your channel. Always so calming to watch your videos.
Go to the pine tree in the middle of the picture and see what's there
Do you think it is something I have never seen in all the years I've been playing? In the middle of which picture?... the place where I'm at in this video or did you mean in the middle of Skyrim? Let me know where you ment and I'll go look.
