Springfield use top material and their weapons are fairly priced, the best in the business for less...that still does not say that all handguns are not over priced, caused most are....i have the 3" EMP, fires everything, for under $800
I have the bul. It is a step above but hard to get and quite a bit more money. Waiting on my prodigy compact to come in now. But the bul UL is longer in grip and makes it more difficult to aiwb carry. I doubt the Springfield is anywhere near the same quality BUT my other prodigy I put some extra money in and they are superior to the bul when set up the way I wanted them with quality milled parts. In the end I have the same money in both with the prodigy being a better gun. Prodigy is a good gun stock but it's an excellent gun to build on over time, with the end result being a better gun. Both guns use mim parts. My upgraded prodigy is all milled high quality parts at the end result for the same price.
@@aaronhome27which bul do you have? I have both Tac and EDC Pro’s both are better than the maxed out version of Staccato P which I ended up selling the value you can’t beat. Springfield’s issues early were a turn off as I have to send mine 5 inch back twice in less than a month to be fixed. Again to each is own. Bul comes with everything plates, 3-4 magazines, even the frame pin if you don’t want to run the magwell. Also they are available more now as we speak on the site if interested honestly not that hard to get.
Unless it's changed recently, Bul Armory double stacks use their own proprietary family of magazines. If you already have a gun that uses standard 9/38 Staccato/Checkmate mags (or SA's Duramag for that matter) like a Staccato, Tisas, another Progidy etc. this can be appealing for magazine compatibility. If you were, say, considering a Staccato C or CS - with their proprietary mags- or aren't already invested in the standard 2011 platform, then this isn't a real con for the Bul. However, the Prodigy 3.5" compact is currently the smallest traditional patterned 2011 on the market, with a 0.4" shorter barrel than the Staccato C2 at 3.9", so it's magazine compatibility is a plus.
the new Staccato HD line I believe finally has swappable mag releases. at the very least it has an ambi slide release which I've been waiting for for years.
I like SA 1911s. I wish they offered this with a Commander length barrel/slide (4.25") and the Officer's frame, like the old CCO that Colt made many moons ago.
Great review of an excellent firearm. I need to start budgeting for one. Just a curiosity question, is there still the high level of hate from the boneheaded move that the executives at Springfield made years back? Or is all that in the rear view mirror with all the great additions to the product line like with the Echelon and Prodigy lines? I’d like your take on it H/S. Thanks.
Hmmm my reflex holds 11 and a 15 rd mag which is not really a good option for ccw but the fact that it is so thin and i can get 11+1 I don't see the advantage of this. Otherwise good looking firearm
Maybe a winter /fall carry but after carrying my RAMI for a few years I think this might be too much for carry like the RAMI ended up being. I'm used to my p938 and p365x now. Hard to go back.
Nope last time I bought a gun from Springfield armory it didn’t work and I was out $800 and who still carries a 9 mm I bet that goes nice with your purse girl
That's absolutely awesome and I love my Springfield Armory handguns
Not Friday.... Hammer video always makes my day and Springfield pew pews is icing on the cake! Nice grouping young Hammer!
Looks like a nice option
5" comp for range/race
3.5" for carry
great pair for the money
Next purchase
this is a larger and thicker version of what I wanted the S&W CSX to be.
BUL Armory pistols unbeatable. Nobody has issues with 3.25 in UL. Nice looking. Tempted
I need this in my life

Wouldn't the new Bul UL be a better option for a bit lore Money?
Correct IMO.

@@Barry_Garzait hasn’t changed but base mags run $55 for Bul for the most part on those models.
VERY NICE...
Again, these companies would sell more with mag release swap option tor lefties…i know its the 1911 issue with the trigger but others are now doing it

Going to stick with my Echelon. Prodigy, since its release, has been a mix bag.

Considering indeed
How many lbs is the trigger pull ?

Did you fire any HPs out of it???
Just read all these 1911 haters sprout their lying nonsense....
A little cheaper than the bul armories, but you can put basically whatever upgraded parts you want in it.
The Bul is a bit more expensive so that you don't need to upgrade any parts.
look very balance

Wonder if it’s coming in FDE
It is
At that price point; not just no; but never.
4.25
still shipping with that crappy a13b plate, i see.
No thank you. Good explanation.

That gun looks extremely chunky, i would not buy it or carry it. The whole trend is towards skinnier and lighter, not this!
I instinctively would not trust my life to a double stack 1911. They’re cool, but they’re finicky gamer guns.
First!
Hard pass for me, after having so many issues with the 4.25” version I lost the confidence in the Prodigy
no one cares about the bad batch you got and gave up on ? ever hear of bad batches smh
@@яИерихонthey must have a bunch of bad “batches” my friend had to do the same which kept me away from them.
@@BeatsPatron17 I bought the Prodigy 6 months ago assuming that they fixed all the issues from the “first batch” and I only had issues with it.
Imagine if people took that same attitude after the Gen 4 Glock issues. With that being said, I would wait a bit to see if it has any teething issues
