He does feel rather strange but I'm enjoying Terry quite a lot. His combos look incredible imo. Glad to see the regular uploads mr.domination. I look forward to what comes next!
Simple answer is, as an SNK game player, Capcom gave Terry some Fatal Fury/King of Fighters tools in Street Fighter which would naturally feel weird to someone who doesn't play those games.
That being said, for the first hour I played Terry in SF6, he felt so bad to me personally because of what I'm used to coming from those games. I've since come around but I literally had to relearn how to do things with him and just think differently when using him.
Edit : Rising Tackle has always been either a charge input with Punch, or a DP input with Punch. The thought being that while the attack is a kick, he's launching himself in the air with his arms. Buster Wolf has also always been done with Kick despite being a punching attack because he's propelling himself forward with his legs. Capcom just being true to how it's always been.
I thought he was damaging with his arm spin instead of the legs. Was he kicking with rising tackle?
@@lordanzu8763 It's both technically. He kicks upwards and his spinning arms while propelling him can also hit people.

I think what he's feeling with Terry is just stuff to get used to. pretty natural for me, coming from mostly KoF and Manon. Smash Terry obviously would be pretty different

Being mostly a CVS2 Terry player I wouldn’t mind this Terry, but I generally play Mai more these days so waiting for her

Now that you mentioned it, it really looks like he should dp with kick, I remember Juri used to have a kick dp in V and they changed it to a punch.
tbh rising tackle has such a stupid animation, it makes tatsus look like they make sense lol
none of the special moves in street fighter make any sense or almost any fighting game
As a casual KOF player for years and a SF player since SF6, I'd say I also feel weird about this build of Terry. He does feel KOF-ish but the movement feels more stiff compared to the other SF characters. Not liking him so far
Would be cool if he had short hops but would probably be too broken
I think idom's finally enjoying a bitta the ol' unga bunga. But also, totally agree. His normals and specials do feel oddly organized.
Juri's dp is with punch and she literally kicks you. In the anime, Rising Tackle all he does is flip upside down and punch you a bunch of times.

The only weird thing I'm seeing currently that I'm not understanding is the amount of dp cancel out of tackle from cr.mk target combo. Half of them the dp whiffs and I don't know if it's another spacing dependency thing or if I'm thinking it's all h tackle and it's not because that's what causes the sliding knockdown
I feel like Terry is more so effective if you are confirming. And some of his specials like down forward kick only chain off of Hp or Hk so he’s technical as hell. But he’s a nice addition.
Yeah, only reason I can’t pick him up easily. Some of his button layouts are weird. Because his shoryuken is animated with his legs, I’m always pressing kick buttons instead of punch.
Man, I kept trying to dp with kicks, too! My poor brain suffered on day 1.
See i also felt that terry was weird because i played him on KoF but then it hit me this is Fatal Fury Terry, after that i realized that his specials are what make him quite good, his level 2 brings so more damage and i find it more useful than going for his level 3, also the built in lane swap combo can be quite good to add some damage from time to time
SNK fighting games are 4 button game. Capcom is 6 buttoms. Basically some moves are different because of the extra 2 buttons for Terry. With that in mind, Terry is very easy to play.

iDom, I agree that DP should be a kick bro, it was also throwing me off.
Idom drop Manon NOW. With JP, Luke and Deejay getting buffed Manon is in for a world of pain. Rashid or Aki is a good choice for you.
I been saying this for a while, that iDom should switch. Watching him play Terry is amazing. Why not pick Manon back up once she gets buffed. In the meantime just go with anyone else eight now
I definitely hope he drop manon, I think Terry would actually fit him

@@duxnihilo I really want iDom to try out different characters and just find more more character which he loves. This way he has answer on the world stage. Most pro players, including iDom (used to) always main more than 1 character
