It’s a shame that Richie never got to send Gismonte and Bevilaqua to slip and fall school.
It's too bad he wasn't around long enough to invest in HUD.
Except for that one fellow booty?
Those two kids were too stupid to see that initially, Richie pretty much implied (said with saying) that he was interested in mentoring them under his belt. They were even clearly vibing together. Rare occasion that Paulie didn't have foresight. Could've charged passengers fares after Ritchie drove the Lionel up his backside and been able to send his Ma to Green Grove.
It's ironic that Ritchie was going to drive a Lionel up Paulie's ass; while Paulie's dad was run over by a trolley. Very allegorical.
Or, he could've just kept the Lionel, and sold it to Bobby for a profit.

I’ve always loved the formalities with the mob, Richie just tells Sil and Paulie to come on in and take a seat and relax, even though 10 seconds later it becomes pretty heated and usually is what these sit downs turn into. 😂 it always cracked me up that before a tense exchange, they’re buddy buddy 10 seconds beforehand.
Why do you think Italy always switched sides in the middle of wars?
reminds me of the season 6 war. They'd seemed so amicable before this. The mafia isn't a family or friends... it's sharks willing to share bites on a whale carcass. Though if one gets too close to the piece you're eating, you'll dine on some shark yourself.
Legend has it, to this day Rocco Demayo is still scouring Essex County looking for his tough reputation and the jackeeeeeeeet.
Out of all of the show’s characters, Richie was the only one who truly frightened me. He was menacing 24/7.
I like how when Matt and Shawn visited Ricky, he never even turns to look at them and his back is at them the entire exchange. The way they mean nothing to him is hilarious and almost old school
Old school wouldn't bother with a punk like Richie.
I thought old school was all about respect now it’s about not respect you back in the old day people are the worst just like the show says with Ritchie and feech

Nah Tony looked like was trying to be nice to him tellin him to not get invloved with the betting. But they know hows these addicts work
I'm not sure they knew how deep it went. Richie just wanted him to make the payments. He was very angry when Dave was at Tony's game later, so it couldn't have been a plan. The bust out was just them taking advantage.
I feel bad for many characters in this series who were taken advantage of by organized crime but Dave Scatino isn't one of them.
Ritchie just treated him like any other customer who was a deadbeat and Tony really did do almost everything he could to keep David from joining the executive game.
He warned him multiple times about when he allowed him to enter.
Then when Tony was asleep he kept grabbing thousands of extra dollars in credit for himself to keep playing.

@@darth856Vito hung out at a different club after he inherited the Aprile crew.
We all wanted to see the showdown between Richie Aprile and Tony Soprano, the only villain who really put the family in trouble. Also, the character development that David Proval gave him is really incredible. Richie's vital gaze, his immolated and unwavering expression, visual anger, and all his essence, is what left him as a cold and exact character for evil.
It really is pathetic its end. As well as Luca Changretta in Peaky Blinders
His end was perfect because that is how real life is, things happen unexpectedly. Chase was never in the business of giving the audience what they wanted.
Uncle Ben was the only one to damage Tony.
@@mikeg2491 Chase was always contradictory to the audience, or don't you remember the revolt at the end of the series? It's fiction, man, therefore there is a right to say that Rcihie Aprile needed a good atmosphere and transmission of the script.

If it wasn't for Janice and for Tony's behaviour, Richie would've been a loyal ally. He deserved more time on the screen
He didn't respect Tony's position as number one, he still saw Tony as a kid. That doesn't work for a captain/boss business relationship.
@@tony_dogs of course, but Tony didn't do much in Richie's behaviour too. He took Beansie's side over his, then there was the davey scatino thing in which, imo, Richie was 100% right, and the Jacket thing, in which Tony could've at least pretend to like the gesture. And I tend to think that if it wasn't for Janice, he would've stayed loyal despite all of that.
Yeh, imagine that war with New York with Richie, Feech, Furio, Tony B, a non junkie Christopher (dude was a slick shot), all working under Tony. It would be a different story
@@DistantLights mikey palmice as well if he kept working under JR and eventually have a mutual relationship with Tony and ride for the gang against NY. Mikey was a hitter. Gene and Gigi were clackers as well.
Well the common theme is that all those guys who “went away” all had a lack of respect for Tony either directly or indirectly.
I’m no intellectual but I think that was one of the themes Chase was trying to show. That the main character was a poisonous cancer even though we all loved him and rooted for him.

Matt and Sean would have prob gotten somewhere in that life if instead of trying to whack Chris, maybe spent more time learning the game from Richie. The three of them could have made eachother good money which would keep Tony happy and Richie in a good mood! Could have saved eachother’s lives pretty much if you think about it.

Richie was an interesting character. He beat and crippled Beansie for essentially nothing. But Richie tried to talk Davey out of borrowing more money and tried to talk Davey from going into deeper debt by going to more games.
The thing with Beansie is that Richie and he worked joints together, basically owning certain things in a partnership. Richie felt that Beansie should have kept splitting their shares, or maybe just sending anything at all while he was in the can.
In an old school sort of way, you could see why Richie felt he was owed dues as he was pretty much the one taking the fall while Beansie kept on.
He doesn’t understand the new way of doing things, which is what leads to his hatred of Tony. But other than that he usually wasn’t that unreasonable.
