    New to home making espresso. I purchased the Opera for around $600. US. and had a good cup in about 3-4 tries never having done this before. Your vids helped a ton. Thank you.

    We just bought the LaSpecialista Opera from ECS yesterday and loving it. Thanks so much ECS for all the time they spent going through all the machines from Jura’s to Breville’s and DeLonghi.

    Can the built in tamper on the Delonghi be adjusted to apply more or less pressure? Also, what's the highest temp for an espresso shot in the same machine?

    Does the La Specialista have a 3-way solenoid valve?

    Just bought the DeLonghi and love it. It had the highest star rating of any coffee machine out there. 4.9 out of 5. The Coffee is sweeter than my old $175 DeLonghi. After noticing myself it was sweeter a friend asked me if I added sugar which confirmed I wasn't just thinking it was sweeter. And that was decaf--not so good coffee. I don't see much advantage in having more settings on the grinder, once you find what you like I just don't think it makes a difference. I love the inside tamper that ensures the correct pressure, which also keeps things very clean compared to our old separate grinder (which I keep decaf in now). So far so good. I am having trouble with Latte art though. I'll search your channel for the tricks. Maybe you can do a lesson on the Opera.

      Funny, after making my own espresso drinks for 9yrs.. (old EC860), I've never been concerned about latte art, I'm the only espresso person in the house, AND It NEVER lasts that long anyway. 😏

    what kind of grinder does each use and how customizable is the grind? I'm leaning toward the Breville due to the seemingly better grinder

    Is the only upgrade on the Opera the frothing wand?

      @espresso247 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      No, watch ECS’s full video review to see all of the upgrades (spoiler alert: more grind settings, espresso cool, cold brew)

    My delonghi la specialista arte started leaking water from under it only months after purchase. Can’t believe I spent this much on an espresso machine and it was only capable of producing proper espresso for less than a year. Now pressure won’t go up, no crema and it pours 1/3 of espresso than it should. I’d avoid like the plague.

      There’s a 3 year warranty, if you contact their customer support team, I’m sure they’ll be able to help you out.

    just measure 18g of coffee and pour it into the chopper ;) your dose will always be perfect. No matter how the smart system will be haha.

    No competition - the Opera has more functionality, and in the majority of cases, you get a better looking and tasting drink. You do need to learn about dosing, though.

      You can get a great espresso from either one with a little bit of practice.

    I wasted 20 minutes on this 'showdown' to learn that the Breville coffee was "quite good, yeah it's good" and the DeLonghi was "a much better latte because the milk is so creamy". Obviously no need to taste the espresso.

      I’ve gotta agree with this. Not a very technical review… I would like to see differences in warm up times, how dialing in differs, as well as tasting comparisons of the espresso itself
