The best part of Ochette is that she can virtually cover every weakness in the game with Akalã and Mahina. I chose Akalã so I could use most of my monster slots for AOE Elemental attacks with some AOE Physical attacks as well. For this of you who don’t know. Akalã can exploit every Physical Weakness and Mahina can exploit every Magical weakness.
I made her my main because the hunter's story seemed interesting to me, and I have 0 regrets; she's awesome and her pokemon mechanic is super fun and useful

I can image someone using this onomatopoeia, “gau” as a characters name in a jrpg. Maybe in something a little bit old. Maybe as some kid’s name that grew up in the wild. Something like that

I just play Castii (inquire nicely) or Partitio (flip goods) and call it a day after Temenos put me to sleep when his interrogations with willing participants who didn't change their reactions after being beaten, stopped hurting my brain.
The voice cast for the travelers were very good, I was pleasantly surprised. My only qualm was Agnea, the forced, fake “Southern bumpkin” accent was grating. I feel like they should have had her go all the way to comically Southern, but the strained accent to make it seem natural was not my favorite. Even Partitio, who I expected to have more of a deep “Italian Mob boss” voice at first glance, really grew on me since he was such a happy and nice character.
I chose Hikari as my protagonist, so I'm not really interested with another physical damage dealer especially since I'm about to start chapter 2 and having issues where he's sometimes hitting the soft damage cap against bosses
I feel ashamed for having sat out this game for so long. I kept saying "eh, when it finally goes on sale, I'll check it out." Then the Steam holiday sale hit, 50% off popped up, so I bit. Now I feel like I RIPPED OFF Square Enix! This game would've been well worth $60! I never expected it would be this damn good.
if you are an english reader then i reccomend using eng voice cuz jp voice and characters dialogue in eng will likely not match so is can be irritating through the whole game plus the eng VA is really good and that awoooo can't be cuter 😂
And this, is why I play with Japanese voice acting. Americans always screw up the English version, look at Dragon Ball Z. Terrible voice cast, recommend Japanese version with subtitles
