I really appreciate this video. Picked up a Sanborn for a great price and the reed galge broke in it. I was disappointed to find you have to buy the whole head which is ridiculous. Thank you!
I just bought a sanborn 60g air compressor and my reed valves blew aswell, there's a phone number right on the tank. I called and it was campbell hausfeld. It's still under warranty so they're sending me a rebuild kit. There is 3 different rebuild kits available for that pump but, they come with more then you need and probably cost a lot if it's out of warranty. But Amazon has just the reed valves for around $30 CAD.
Yes I saw those rebuilt kits for sale but the cheapest one was just a new head and gasket which was over $150. I bought this new for $400 several years ago and didn’t think that was worth it which is why I found adequate reed valves to replace the broken one with.
@@woodwardbeardsley2413 yes you are correct, the rebuild kits are pretty expensive. Since I've had mine for less then three months it's still under warranty so they're sending the kit for free fortunately. I did see the reed valves on Amazon for fairly cheap aswell.

That's exactly what I thought, seems ridiculous they don't sell the reed valves individually. Glad my video helped somebody save some money and time!
There's a phone number on the tank that would have sent you a rebuild kit for free if it was still under warranty.

.014 stainless steel feeler gage would also substitute for a quick fix.
