Beautiful armchair. This piece is of family heirloom quality. Great job. I hope the family that gets it will show more respect to it than the people who threw it out. The original woodcraft used to make it was excellent. I am impressed with this unique piece and today to copy it would cost a fortune. Just the arms alone are solid hard wood and must have been carved from a seriously big piece of timber. Thanks for sharing this with us.

When stripping, always scrape with the grain of the wood NOT against the grain.

If you’d soaked the wood& clamped it together you wouldn’t have needed to put bits of wood in the gaps & you would have gotten a better finish

Thanks for your perspective. In the past, people made fresh wood so it would shrink when it dries. If you soak wood and clamp it, it will be missing the bottom

Ni las herramientas ni los productos son adecuados. Una pena porque hasta las pequeñas tiras de madera que se han puesto para tapar las grietas se ven. Lo siento pero esto no es una restauración
