  • Award winning Australian swivel arm chair complete restoration.
This Iconic chair was designed by Fred Lowen in the late 60's and manufactured by Tessa in Melbourne. I've shown the entire process of the restoration with lots of tips and tricks with upholstery and timber refinishing.
    Hope you enjoy viewing, Tristan

Exceptional job! The chair looks like it just came off the factory showroom floor.

Your chair took an impressive array of skills to remake. Great job. My only critique is the music. I would rather hear the sounds of your workroom.

I totally agree, Lisa! Music adds nothing to the video.

Thank you kindly! I'm taking the feedback onboard and working on getting the audio better minus the music.

I just found your channel, and I subscribed because I'm kinda picky on what restoration videos I watch here on TH-cam, but seeing your attention to detail is incredible, especially on a piece like this. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you! I think it helps showcase the timber

I don't like the color but that shade is exactly what they would have used. A deep deep blue, would be my choice.

What fabric is that, it looks almost like suede, but a little flimsy for suede. I love how they used the metal inside the legs, very well made. You are an animal with the sewing machine.

It's a soft nubby textured fabric. Been very popular in Australia over the last couple of years. The designer did an amazing job to create something that not only looks good but still functions well after decades of use.

Excellent job. That chair looks wonderful and very comfortable. I wish I could sew like you do, you’re truly a master at it. I don’t suppose if you’re going to use music in your videos that you could have something besides generic synthesizer music. The stuff your playing is truly annoying and way to loud.

What music did you use. It sounds similar to The Lost Years or LazerHawk

It's mostly ELFL from Epidemic Sound

Stop the insane background music. People like to hear the sound of the work being done and not that ear numbing sound. For that reason I think people would be put off. By the way nice restoration but could not enjoy watching it fully due to that repetitive tune.
