Honestly, I thought my Xander-sense was stellar, right up there with my Papenbrook-dar and Lowenthal Detection System.... and still never realized he was PoH or Motoyasu. Some VAs really just are everywhere. Even when you think you've seen the extent of it you realize you looked right past half of their appearances.
I have to say, regardless of one's feelings about the outcome, I just like how there's no bad blood between the two of them, especially since I can see that being canon. After all, both fight for good, so I can't really think of any legitimate reason for Goku and Superman to hate each other.
By their very nature, both Goku and Superman are gonna keep getting stronger and getting new toys to smack each other with until the end of time. It’s not unreasonable to expect Goku vs. Superman 4 in the 2030’s, to be completely honest. The difference between the two is that while they’re both absurdly broken characters, Superman’s level of broken makes Goku look balanced.
The one thing I was concerned with going into this was Goku losing at the cost of the fanbase starting another Internet war. But surprisingly no with a few exceptions the fight has been overwhelmingly positive with the fanbase and the ending of Goku and Superman laughing it off saying he’s down for a rematch was just heartwarming. Really capturing the heart of the characters and everything they stand for. I didn’t think it needed to be redone but seeing it, I’m glad they did it.
I believe at this point, most people just stopped caring. Either because they don't view Goku as this anime god to worship anymore, and/or just moved on to other things in life.
This was leagues better than round 2 which in retrospect, felt so contentious and was made out of spite against Superman. This at least gave love to both of their characters. With that said, running joke time of point at Goku constantly losing in Death Battle with, .5W/3.5L
13: 04 "Who are those two random people on the side?" Those two are Wendy Harris and Marvin White, two teenage super heroes in training. They were there for the audience of the show "Super Friends" to relate to.
Galactus is Marvel where as Unicorn is basically a planet-sized Transformer who's only life goal is to destroy all sentient life and his blood zombifies dead Cybertronians.

Unicron is from Transformers. He's a dark god that devour the previous universe before the last remnants kickstarted the big bang that led to the current universe. His brother is the god Primus who created the Transformer race and a fragment of his power is inside Optimus' chest called the Matrix.
I don't care about the fight animation or who won or lost. I just love the lovable dork energy that both Goku and Supes exude with their facial expressions and lines of dialogue.
This battle’s just pleasant vibes. To focus on the statistics and objective nature of combatants is not to reduce them, like Wiz and Boomstick said. It’s just damn FUN SOMETIMES!
You brought up the no limits argument a few times, but Ben Singer actually said that they threw that out the window. It’s just pure numbers and physics.
No, that was Goku Black vs Ultraman (one of the evil versions of Superman). Those were all different versions of Superman and Goku fighting their little hearts out in alternate universes.
No matter how angry people are about Goku losing and hating Superman, I will continue to support Superman. I will always be one of the few Superman fans (I don't dislike Goku, I'm also one of the Dragon Ball fans)
The Dragonball fan boys started pushing "You forgot God Fusion Goku." It literally never ends. And now they ones that are still salty say "well, at least Goku beats all the other Superman easily. So Goku has more Ws than Superman. Goku wins." Like it is just sad at this point. They want so bad for Goku to win that they are willing to take anything as a W. It has all gotten better, but Judas Priest some are just gripping at straws at this point. They complain that they use composite Superman but demand to use non-canon composite Gokus to win. To me, if Goku has to cheat to win, that is a HUGE L for him and he would agree.
You forget, Goku wasn't initially inspired by Superman, but by Sun Wukong. It's mostly the purposefully-mistranslated early dubs that made him look more Superman-like. (Also, Tournament of Champions has concluded, with Wile E. vs Tom set for Season 11.)
Unicron is basically Transformers’ Robo-Devil. On a PLANETARY scale of size. In terms of power… uhh… around like… if Salem had Goku Black’s powers, and the some. He’s also a recurring main villain in Transformers Prime (which I do recommend giving a watch), but his first debut was in the 1986 Transformers animated movie (also recommend).
I was initially disappointed that they were doing this matchup again, but after witnessing the battle itself, I can easily say this is one of DB's best! Goku and Clark becoming friends after all these battles is honestly very wholesome! Break out the fancy plates and cutlery! It's time for the planet eaters to satiate our hunger for battle!
One thing I like is that they got the characters more or less right, and yes that matters: how they think is a part of how they fight. Their motives for fighting likewise are a big part of it; Superman and Goku would fight differently if the fate of mankind were at stake. That's something the previous matches got absolutely wrong, the cavalier way they treated earth. This match, at least, seems to be set on an earth where there are no people to get hurt.
If there’s one thing I’ve loved about this season, it’s the commitment to the characters beyond their abilities and there are so many bits that highlight their personalities. The ending to this one is my favorite by far in this regard Superman is humble and sweet and Goku doesn’t care if he dies as long as he gets to fight someone strong. This is def the best of the trilogy and I really hope this is the last one. I hope Goku and Superman can still be sparring buddies and good friends :)
Unicron is from Transformers. He's a robot the size of a planet and voiced by Orson Welles. He was the big villain in the first animated Transformers movie back in the 80's
18:11 no, this is not a continuation of the last time. In fact Ben Singer (the voice of Wiz) wanted this entire episode to stand apart from the other 2 fights and be its own thing. He also despises Goku vs Superman 2, saying it was his least favourite episode and how he wanted to undo that episode. so that's why they didn't even bring up the "Superman has no limits" thing, whereas that was their whole argument in Goku vs Superman 2
To answer the number/month thing, they actually have the same roots. Originally, we had a 10 month calendar, but good ol' not egocentric at all Julius Caesar wanted to name a month after himself, and some other roman leaders, so we got 12. Originally, the 5th month was called Quintilis, the 6th Sextilis, 7th September, 8th October, 9th November, and 10th December, these just derived from the latin numbers, unum, duo, tribus, quattuor, quinque, sex, septem, octo, novem, and decem. These are used in large numbers to indicate orders. Million is based on mili, the word for thousand, but past that it goes to latin numerical prefixes, bi meaning two gets us billion, the second illion, trillion from tri meaning 3 is the third illion. Nonillion is the 9th illion, novemdecillion is the 19th illion, vigintillion is the 20th, etc.
The ironic thing is no matter who wins people will be salty which is sad since both these characters could literally careless in a fight for the strongest…It’s more in character for them to be friends and want to help each other become stronger! Which is why I’m glad this “ending” gave them both the love and respect they deserve with a happy ending sequence after the fight
One thing I want to expand upon for you is Superman shoulder-pressing the weight of the Earth, because it's even more bonkers in context. Superman was holding up the weight of the Earth _without_ access to sunlight, and held it for five days...because that was how long it took him to begin sweating. No joking, the entire point of the test was to collect a sample of Superman's sweat, and that's how they did it.
Unicron is from Transformers. Specifically Transformers the Movie from the 1980's, but used in later material as well. Unicron eats planets. Galactus eats planets. I think you can guess why fans want them to fight each other.
Unicron is basically transformers Satan, that eats planets.... Galactus also eats planets and that is why they are matched up. Also this is by far the most requested DB in history of the channel people have been wanting this one for YEARS
I knew Superman was going to win, but I'm still glad they gave the characters one final hurrah and did them justice. Still wish Goku would win in a death battle though, maybe in the future they put him up against someone else now that this one was made
Goku would win if he is from DC universe bc the universe is old that they state it's nonetilion years old, he would take that experience and journey the infinite layers of universe in DC to train and get the knowledge
I think the highlight of this episode are the actors' performances. Michael Kovach and Xander Mobus have outstanding performances as Goku and Superman respectively.
@@ligtningdog6399 . In the real world, as far as I have learned at least, Life Force is a poor translation of Chi. Although chi probably can include life force it actually seems to mean any and every type of spiritual energy. Especially since their is Human chi, earth chi, heavenly chi, and I think even ghost chi. Chi being the spiritual energy fabric of all reality and even physical matter, it should be capable of DBZ type stuff if only used by a powerful being like Superman.
@@ligtningdog6399 . We humans might mostly be known to only use chi for boring things like health because we don't have strong enough chi to fight Kryptonians or even very strongly effect the physical world with it.
I heard something along the lines that one person read through every single Superman comic over the course of a year to get every single feat they could do for this episode. The compilation of notes was over 400,000 words, which is bigger than Harry Potter Deathly Hallows by something like 150,000 words. Not sure if it's true so take it with a grain of salt. If so, that's dedication! Next time is one I've waited for for 8 years. The battle of the planet eating gods! And yes, Unicron is from Transformers and is basically robot Satan
Superman does have limits. He has infinite potential for growth (basically he can keep growing so long as he keeps absorbing solar power) but he's limited to how much he has stored at that time. So at any given time, he does have a finite amount stored up. It is possible for him to run out and he's done it in a few different series before.
But he can also dip himself to multiple stars or the sun or even blue or white one to recharge fast given how fast he can travel the galaxy now. Basically superman is like a rechargeable battery but his charger dosent take hours to fully charge him up and he can overcharge.
Exactly! Superman's power is directly proportional to how much solar energy he has (the more solar energy he has the stronger he is). He died fighting Doomsday the first time because he was fighting at night, all night. If he left Doomsday alone to take a sunbath, DD would have killed thousands of people while he was gone. Supes kept fighting until he was weak enough/ low enough on solar energy for DD's attacks to kill him.
The main point of Death Battle is peak vs peak. Goku at his current peak is still leagues behind Superman’s highest known peak which should be Prime One Million. Even though Prime One Million doesn’t really have any established feats to go by, Prime One Million is still the far far far future version of All-Star Superman who was basically sun dipping for over 15,000 years that basically turned him into an immortal golden entity that is beyond godly. We can imagine the stupidly insane power boost that has to be.
@@jenniferhamels1176 Yeah, I know. I don't disagree with any of that. I'm just saying he does have limits because a lot of people seem insistent on saying he has none at all.
Goku is goofy. Superman is goofy. It only makes sense that they'd be friends. Two goofy dudes are just sparing and having a good time. I think Goku is super happy to have someone that strong to train against, and Superman is thrilled to not have to completely hold back when fighting. It's gotta feel good to let loose every so often.
One thing that is good to note is that there are *some* feats of strength that goku could scale to in order to keep up with superman. Like when Jiren shoot the World of Void. It's stated that its a void filled with infinite nothingness, so goku could keep up in strength, however, i think superman has JUST enough counters to win
if you want to look at in another interesting way...they did wipe out the universe. something canonically superman could and probably has survived, (they do say he can't be wiped from existence), while goku technically needs a universe to live... that ending makes it look like Supes is waiting on his buddy to wake up after sparring...
For the next Death Battle preview, Galactus is indeed Marvel and Unicron is from Transformers. While it may sound silly to put Galactus against a robot, Unicron is actually an insanely powerful robotic god-like being. It's actually probably a closer fight than most people might assume.
Goku vs Superman yet again. Another battle that never stops. But in this situation it ends multiple times, with the same result. And Goku who never stops searching for more growth, will always be back again to try and defeat the impossible. We’ll see more hairdo’s more impossibly increasing feats more and more as Goku, Vegeta, and now Gohan and Piccolo search more and more heights to surpass. And the hunt will never end. (In Gohan and Piccolo’s case it’s more to insure they can be more of a safety net for whatever disaster Goku and Vegeta make worse or accidentally blow out of proportion.
DC and Marvel had several crossovers, so yes, Superman has met the Avengers multiple times. But no, Marvel cant own Thor. That would be like copyrighting Jesus.
yo Kyle. Unicron is from Transformers. :) so it's gonna be a Marvel VS Mattel fight. :) also, Galactus can fight on par with the fantastic 4 and silver surfer while starving. he also has a gun called the ultimate nullifier. what does it do? it wipes out anything it's pointed at. even whole universes. :) also, when Galactus shows up, he's everybody's problem. and i do mean everybody. :)

- Superman is voiced by Xander Mobus who also voices Ren (Persona), Toge, Todo, & Juzo (Jujutsu Kaisen), Yusuke & Otsuki (Mob Psycho 100), Momoshiki, Inojin, Shizuka, Sukea, & others (Naruto), Motoyasu (Shield Hero), Quant, Changsoo, & Levin (Tower of God), Tatsuhiko (Bungo Stray Dogs), Adi (Marbel Future Avengers), Richard / Kogoro (Detective Conan), Steven (Pokemon Master) also was Walker & Announcer (Pokemon Journeys), Yahaba (Demon Slayer), Masayoshi & Chocolat (Komi Can’t Communicate), Jean (Spriggan), Master & Crazy Hand (Super Smash Bros), PoH / Vassago (SAO), Mimic & Mayor (Shantae), Fuyuki (Oddtaxi), Fallon (Sirius the Jaeger), Alexei (KonoSuba), Billy (Burn the Witch), Welfin & Bean (HxH -2011), Iairon (One Punch Man), Christopher / Gargoyle & Abbey / Hydra (To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts), Sparkling (Cookie Run: Kingdom), Kenya (Erased), Terence (JoJo), Juzo (Blue Exorcist), Coda (Suppose a Kid from the Last Dungeon Boonies …), Neutrophil teacher (Cells at Work), & many more
Honestly, I thought my Xander-sense was stellar, right up there with my Papenbrook-dar and Lowenthal Detection System.... and still never realized he was PoH or Motoyasu.
Kyle: superman has no limits
Kyle: I’m picking Goku again
Whyyyyyyy!
I believed in him
Next fight is one that a lot of people have been looking forward to and pretty much all of them say it should be a season finale. Marvel's Unapproachable Cosmic Devourer vs Transformers' All-Consuming Chaos God
If there's any scene that deserves to be called epic, it's when Freiza says "Oh my God, you can grind meat on those"
"I think I peed a little"
@@chefbreccia2642 remind me who said that one
In the comic where Superman and Wonder Women fought with Thor is a DC and Marvel crossover over they did in the 90s or 2000s. All three of them wielded Thor's hammer.
Thye did say Superman once punched Brainiac hard enough to the point his other versions also felt it. The versions you saw when Superman hits Goku three times are GT Goku VS Superman Blue, Goku Black VS Ultraman and Xeno Goku VS Cosmic Armour Superman.
Fun fact: they got the smash bros announcer to voice superman
This battle is so, SO good. The song is called Super, by Brandon Yates.
Once again putting up a Death Battle OST reaction series up for consideration. Id love to see it!
Ahh copyright would definitely be a problem
@theduckgoesmoo damn, good point. Don't you do them for RWBY tho? Or have you run into problems there too?
@@vick7868 got tired of dealing with it so I decided it wasn’t worth the hassle. Every day for the past week they’ve been taking down my old RWBY reactions that have been up for years
@theduckgoesmoo oh... that's unfortunate. I'm sorry, I really like those reactions.
I will say then, would you consider listening to the songs on their own? They always drop the name of the song in the credits after the episodes. I'm in your server, I'd love to hear your opinions on them.
If you pause around 20:40, you'll see Goku and Supes playing Rock, Paper, Scissors during their fight.
This battle’s just pleasant vibes. To focus on the statistics and objective nature of combatants is not to reduce them, like Wiz and Boomstick said. It’s just damn FUN SOMETIMES!
It's funny they say he's not Jesus but has the heavenly ability to examine souls
12:30 To the other 4 people in North Dakota, where are you. I’m hopelessly lost and I ran out of food two days ago.
“Does Goku finally win?”
*NOPE*
Unicorn is from Transformers, also didn't know if you saw it but it's been one of the single most hyped up matchups ever
Infinte page book.
Me: Technically he had help from Wonder Woman but to quote Boomstick, "Hey Whiz, what's half of infinity, In-Flopping-finity!!!
The Dragonball fan boys started pushing "You forgot God Fusion Goku."
It literally never ends.
And now they ones that are still salty say "well, at least Goku beats all the other Superman easily. So Goku has more Ws than Superman. Goku wins."
Like it is just sad at this point. They want so bad for Goku to win that they are willing to take anything as a W.
It has all gotten better, but Judas Priest some are just gripping at straws at this point. They complain that they use composite Superman but demand to use non-canon composite Gokus to win.
To me, if Goku has to cheat to win, that is a HUGE L for him and he would agree.
the thing is I can name more than 10 Superman's who can beat Goku. They only said to make the Goku fans happy.
“Galactus” is from the Marvel Universe. “Unicron” is from the Transformers Universe.
You forget, Goku wasn't initially inspired by Superman, but by Sun Wukong. It's mostly the purposefully-mistranslated early dubs that made him look more Superman-like.
(Also, Tournament of Champions has concluded, with Wile E. vs Tom set for Season 11.)
Strange that there wasnt as much salt and rage compared to the others
Ig 10 years really changes things
Sure it does.. even though there will always be that one person
By this point, people stopped treating Goku as the end-all-by-all figure of ultimate power.
Not to mention the aren't truly fighting to the Death, They're seeing how powerful each other can be
Unicron is basically Transformers’ Robo-Devil.
Galactus is indeed Marvel
Galactus eats planets
Unicron is from Transformers
Unicron eats planets
I love how clean the animation is when Goku goes UI and dodges Superman
oh man after so many years the rematch we all have been waiting for
Unicron is basically a world/planet eater from Transformers.
Unicron is the planet eater of the Transformers. He is a transforming death moon.
Man it really has been a year since you last did 100 videos in one month, you're a legend and time really flew by
15:54 this did not age well 💀
Yup it aged like milk or the moldy cheese he sells.
Fun fact: Superman's voice actor, Xander Mobus, is actually the voice of the Super Smash Bros. Announcer/Master Hand and Joker from Persona 5.
"Your not gonna do this for a fourth time"
Wow, you called it in the worst way
27:39 - You can see the Super Smash Ball there. I wonder if that's a hint for next season...
GALACTUS VS UNICRON!
BATTLE OF THE PLANET-EATERS
LET'S FUCKING GO
I’m surprised you got this out so quick, great reaction
Wdym "So quick"? He always releases Death Battles on Wednesdays.
@@fireball1249 apologies I’m new here, just the actual original video has barley been out two days
Well I have to record and edit it in the same day to get it to the patrons a day before it goes public
@@theduckgoesmoo so you had it done a day after the video dropped? That’s crazy man, do you do your own editing?
One thing I want to expand upon for you is Superman shoulder-pressing the weight of the Earth, because it's even more bonkers in context.
Superman was holding up the weight of the Earth _without_ access to sunlight, and held it for five days...because that was how long it took him to begin sweating.
No joking, the entire point of the test was to collect a sample of Superman's sweat, and that's how they did it.
He is so powerful
Since you mentioned you didn't know If Unicron is basically the transformers version of Galactus
14:54 Well I think Ben10 recreated the universe from memory as
Alien X.
Also this is by far the most requested DB in history of the channel people have been wanting this one for YEARS
Goku literally called it “Super Saiyan Blue” because he bit his tongue trying to say the actual name.
Personally, I want to see Superman vs. Goku in a second Epic Rap Battles of History sequel which is long overdue in my humble opinion!😉😋
18:04
P A I N, you did not in fact learn your lesson
How many of us REALLY do?
@@BlazeWriter fair XD
I knew Superman was going to win, but I'm still glad they gave the characters one final hurrah and did them justice. Still wish Goku would win in a death battle though, maybe in the future they put him up against someone else now that this one was made
Goku would win if he is from DC universe bc the universe is old that they state it's nonetilion years old, he would take that experience and journey the infinite layers of universe in DC to train and get the knowledge
Unicron is basically the Transformers equivalent of Satan.
Superman here is the same VA as Jimmy Firecracker in DBZA
I think the highlight of this episode are the actors' performances. Michael Kovach and Xander Mobus have outstanding performances as Goku and Superman respectively.
12:41 Wait a second, can SuperMan really use Chi?
But then shouldn't his Kryptonian chi be powerful enough to basically Kamehameha?
Theoretically
Superman uses the real world version of chi. As in it's helps health body and mind, not blow up stuff.
Yes Superman has had chi and a ultra instinct form for about 20 plus years now.
Is there really that many!!!
Unicron is basically planet sized Transformer and evil god of the Transformers universe.
Unicron is from Transformers
Unicron is from Transformers, he’s essentially the Transformers version of the devil, and just like Galactus, he eats planets
6:10 But didn't Future Gohan eat a senzu bean and still not grow back that arm he lost to 17 and 18?
Pretty sure he didn’t because there was one left at that point and he gave it to Trunks instead
Oh. Thanks.
The song is simply called "Super"
Unicron is the evil transformer planet eater.
3 times, you said you thought you learned your lesson but that’s the third loss in a row going for Goku.
There’s a couple reasons why I picked goku
Wow shocking superman win for third time. I'm superman fan and goku fan and other characters.
DC and Marvel had several crossovers, so yes, Superman has met the Avengers multiple times.
But no, Marvel cant own Thor. That would be like copyrighting Jesus.
You really need to watch that actual Dragonball anime, not just the abridged series. It's great.
A good death battle would be a tag team one. Justice league vs avengers
Superman and Goku vs Thor+Sentry
