It's not only what makes sense post-Streak breaking for Brock, it's respecting Taker and his position in the company as well. Booking correctly is not only looking into the future, but remembering what happened before and emphasizing the important moments so they're not lost and wasted by poor direction.
Streak should have been ended by someone else who needed a major push. Brock is already a beast w a monster resume full of accomplishments.
Bray Wayat, Daniel Bryan, Rusev or Seth Rollins could have benefited and it would make sense.
@ultraloyalservant2felineov41 You have a valid point but Brock ending the streak wasn't to simply give him a push but I believe Vince thought that Brock was the only person who could handle that kinda heat that came with breaking the streak. And Undertaker being Undertaker understood about passing the torch and putting guys over for the benefit of the business
No one had the credibility or the momentum to end the streak but Bray and Seth. Hindsight is 20/20 but look at Bray now? Thank god he didn’t get that. It would’ve been terrible. Making others so that they can make others is the big business goal of WWE. Its all about the icons and the idols and if you can generate that out of nothing then you are at the peak of your game. Brock and Cena knew how to play the game.
I felt like I was alone on this take when Taker's streak ended. So many people talked about the streak being wasted on Brock and I remember getting criticized into oblivion when I said that Brock breaking the streak meant that he was able to use that momentum in a way where others can benefit as well as use the streak in a way where we wouldn't predict.
I remember that Summerslam match vividly when Lesnar tossed Cena around and I kept saying; "They're still using Taker's streak. Now it's being used to turn Lesnar into a monster".
I talked about how Reigns was now using the momentum of the streak when he unified the titles by beating Brock which gave more credibility to him holding the titles for as long as he has.
Hearing Cena say this vindicates my stance lol
