- Hello, I've been using the 5.11 skylight pouch as a admin pouch, chest rig and hip pocket on my backpack for about 2 moths now. Super versatile little pouch for organization, hiking, travel, storage or anything else you can think of. Better than any other strap on chest pouch I own or have tried. Cheers
Great review with some good insights
Thanks! I appreciate your watching and making a comment. Cheers
I may try getting the survival chest rig with this and see how they fit together.
That’s a good idea. I wouldn’t hang too much weight off of the front of it, but that would give you an option for a full sized firearm. Cheers
The Vertx Long Walks waist bag that recently came out has this feature,to attach between backpack straps. I haven't tried it but it looks decent.
Thanks for the comment. I really like vertex stuff. Great materials and a more modern design than a lot of other companies. The waist bag looks a touch big as a chest bag. Through use, I’ve been gravitating to smaller and small chest rigs. Larger bags mean more sweat and bounce. I also tend to over load them. I found I have been using the 5.11 w/ teklock due to its size and versatility. If I’m carrying I use a HPG runners kit but this also feels too big. I’ve been eyeing the mystery ranch wingman chest pocket which can go between straps or be used as a hip/shoulder bag. Nice size. Cheers
@@mtnboy123 Have not seen the Wingman, it looks pretty nice. I have the 5.11 and HPG kit bags too. They do produce the sweats for sure. The search for the perfect setup is half the fun though.
Do you still recommend this over all the other packs? I'm trying to minimize sweating and won't be carrying pistol. I also don't want a crazy huge pack. I do like hill people and saw they have stubby runners pack, but not a big harness fan.
Yes, I do recommend it. Although I have an assortment of chest packs, I like that this is small enough to easily put in a travel bag or throw in the truck when I'm headed out. Because it is small, I take it more places and use it more often. I also, really like the versatility with the way I have mine set up. KISS
Any links for the tek lock?
