  • Here's why the Pixfra Ranger R625 thermal camera is particularly suited to spotting and filming birds, bats and all manner of UK wildlife. Whether that's for your profession, such at bat surveys and ecology, or a birding hobby.
Dave from Thomas Jack gets out in the Warwickshire countryside to put the Pixfra Ranger R625 to the test and explain it's key features and capabilities; with thermal camera footage kindly supplied by Neil at BatAbility and Tony at E3 Ecology.

Been looking to invest in a thermal monocular,so there are many about ,I've been looking at the Guide range, and although the sensor isn't the size of the Pixfra shown the Guide do one with a focal lens of 50mm which looks to have a very good image quality and is near on £400 less,is that really the case?,although seeing youtube vids don't always show the true image quality.I'm unfortunately not near enough to go to a store that has a range of thermal monoculars to look for myself

Biger lens doesn't mean high image quality, it means that you can see further, but meanwhile, you will lose the field of view. It's important to figure out what kind of target and how long is the distance you may observe.

A quick double tap on the button closest to you. (Same again to turn it off)
