"It's being released as 2 diffrent games with DLCs for the other two paths, it sucks!" There's going to be a digital version with all three stories, besides, think of it this way:
It's around chapter 6 where the choice between Nohr and Hoshido happens, and there's rumours about there being 20 chapters after that, which adds up to the same amount of chapters as Fire Emblem Awakening, and we all know how that turned out (it was amazing).
And that's just for 1 path, the opposite path will be a DISCOUNTTED DLC if you own one of the version, so it's another 20 chapters at a lower price.
And then there's the third path, another 20.
That's roughly 3 games in *about* the price of 2 brand-new 3DS games.
I think only one version is coming out for North America

foxzygranpa I´ve reasearched quit a bit and actually just found ONE source that said they would only bring out 1 edition in the rest of the world.
If you look at Nintendos translates trailers, they always mention the "FE if: Hoshido" and the "FE IF: NOHR" TOGETHER, so i would not say farewell to our hope.
but at the end, its just what i have seen on the Nintendo / FE IF side so they can change it nontheless

The story was a 7/10 but Corrin and his minor involvement in changing anything made it 5/10. But the overall game is a decent 6.5/10.
The characters were awesome, the music was amazing, the story was turning out to be unique until some people had to needlessly die . . . Like at least let Ryoma S-Rank with Scarlett in the Hoshido route! Lol

Anyway.... whether it will make sense to have skin options will depend a lot on what we can see from your familly, if your parents are both white, and they probably are.... seriously, skin options won't make sense.
Nicolas Frasson I don't really care if my parents in the game have a lighter skin than me or whatever. I just want to create myself (African American male) in game. There are plenty of games with create-a-character mechanics where it seems like your a Japanese character but there are still options to make yourself look African American. Final Fantasy 14 A Realm Reborn and Dragon Quest 9 are some examples on my mind.

FF and DQ are just games with anime style characters, that doesn't mean they are Japanese obviously.
Ok if you want to make a black character despite said character coming from a Japanese familly, but I personally care a lot more about plot consistency than about "making myself in the game", I will even let him have his default name if I ever get to play the game (first I need to get a 3DS) as it will probably be his canon name.
But that is just my preference anyway.... though I think they should go with a character "nobody knows where it came from" in the next game, and then let people customize whatever they want without generating the "plot consistency" problem.
seeing how the dancer kept altering between costumes, i suspect the game would implement an "alternate timeline" kind of story, where the game actually encourage multiple replay to reach the true ending.

Psychic Trout i know that much, what i meant is what if the story actually uses the two routes as "alternate timelines". And just like Awakening's implementation of time travel, the new fire emblem would use said alternate timeline as an actual mechanics.

I am from the future where the Switch is the main Nintendo console. It has been almost 2 years since the Fire Emblem Switch's official teaser and nope we have nothing but the reveal trailer which is 2 minutes long and a glorious song to chant with.

Fire Emblem Awakening is one of the all time favorites on the 3DS. You gotta play that first before you play Fates! It's also a good way to introduce you into the fanchise.
And by "Choose Your Path" it really means you go to Gamestop and buy one of the two at random because they don't tell you what either side is about and then you're stuck with that forever.

Fates offers so many more maps, it is understandable they split the games, but I would prefer it if at least Birthright and Conquest where in 1 game, Revelation can stay DLC as it already is....

Awakening was hardly any good when compared to the rest of the franchise. It's actually pretty mediocre. Play some of the older titles.
You'll find Awakening isn't that spectacular.
However, this game looks like it could be the best in the franchise easily.
I've played all the games that were localized, way to make assumptions.
Path of Radiance is my favorite, but I would say Awakening is still very good, its only weak point is that the story wasn't well structured.
Jaekization dumb kid is dumb, i think awakening was better than all of those games due to the fact that it took the best parts out of every game and added them together. HAving kids, choosing classes, creating a character, switching classes and skills.....its just great...now go be a gen oner somewhere were you can actually trick ppl into thinking you are smart

3 things I'm hoping to see:
- The choices having a major impact on the story events
- wavering between sides, to give depth and ease the player into making the final decision around half way during the play through
- More depth in terms of morals and ethics if each kingdom to make them seem more dynamic and not just generic, "good vs evil" or "ruthless vs merciful" and just make them more similar in that aspect.

The classic protagonist move would be to reject both paths and make his/her own path where both sides can experience a happy outcome though the trailer does make it seem like this isn't an option.

nope, looks like you have to live with your decisions and can't have it both ways. Another game that did that is the strategy classic Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together.
NoCryinRyan Yeah but if such an ending exists in the game, I wonder if they will allow the player to reach that ending on their first playthrough or make it mandatory for the player to complete the Hoshido and Nohr ending first.
It'll probably be a 100% completion thing; the Tactics Ogre remake let the player see all the paths when they finished the game once.
Aiddon Yeah that sounds like a proper manner to implement it. I don't own a psp and have only recently started emulating the Tactics Ogre remake.

I am still passing because of the ending. I only saw a part of the ending and i was traumatized. which is sad, because BR looked really good (in it's beginning) but of course thats only my opinion because I get traumatized by such things,

I have an issue with this. While the idea of diverging storylines is FANTASTIC and actually benefits the game by improving the already massive replay value that Fire Emblem has, the fact that Nintendo is treating this like a DLC opportunity, sickens me. The fact that the game in the Japanese version Auto-locks the other route out once you choose a side and sells it as DLC is more than disappointing, and I find it shameful that Nintendo has gone this route.
In Awakening, we had extra DLC chapters which I find ok because none of those chapters had any real impact to the base story of the game in which we were playing. If on the other hand is essentially making it that half of the adventure that we're playing is completely blocked out to us the player unless we buy it. Not to mention the Japanese physical copy of the game is explained to have one of the routes already cemented in, basically blocking out the choice of choosing which path. Basically, even if you wanted to go to the Nohr, your copy of the game may force you to follow the Hosido path, and you're stuck playing a path that you didn't want to play yet, with the only way to get the other storyline is to buy the DLC.
The only way I could be satisfied in the end, would be if the entire thing was left open and both paths are possible during repeat gameplay without the spending of any money. Cause honestly, would you REALLY want to pay $20 just to get the other half of the game that you already spent $40 on?
***** Like you said that's the Japanese version. Given how they've mentioned no such thing for the NA and EU versions, I believe they are considering just making it one game for the US release. Even if we do have to pay for DLC to play the other storyline I think it's too soon to judge whether or not it's a bad thing. If there are only a small amount of chapters on each side than yes that would suck but if each side of the story was as long as Awakening's story (which was about 50 chapters if you include the side missions) then you are essentially getting two great fire emblem games for the cost of one and a half fire emblem games, which is pretty good.
35linkmaster They say that the game will diverge starting Chapter 6, and given that FE:A had about 26 or so in the main storyline, there leaves some pretty decent story there. I do however want there to be impactful choices, because in Awakening, every choice you had in the game really didn't mean much because the outcomes was the same regardless. Here, it seems like choices matter a lot more, so I hope that there's going to be more impact.
Personally though, I still wouldn't want to pay anything that has to do with the actual storyline. Any DLC chapters that don't impact the story (Like the beach chapter, the hot springs chapter, and the evil future one in awakening) I'm fine with paying for. But anything that relates to the actual storyline, I feel it's a bit of a cop out. You may think that it's like 1.5 FE games, but the way I see it, it's the same storyline, but with different characters.
Actually the two versions are becoming 1 in the english release, which is why they're such a long gap in release dates.

Being a dragon, showing my affection to the ones I love through skinship, getting married and having children, the epic song Road Taken, etc! Did anyone else notice? The first words being sung in this trailer are the last ones being sung in the previous one. Specifically, when the dragon creature (maybe Kamui's dragon form) is reaching towards Aqua as she falls.
