Pakistani here...you are very right pervaiz sir. My very own mother whose not even very religious or a housewife who doesn't interact with the world..she stops me when I argue with her about stuff not prevelant in our society.
I am surprised the hall is half empty. If you give a first year biology exam to Pakistani PhD. They will also fail this exam. The country can not move forward unless we change our system of education.

What a funny program. Dr. Hoodbhoy is delivering a lecture in his memorial lecture. Memorial lectures are arranged after death of a person. Shame shame shame on the standard.
Not correct to compare Pakistan with Israel. The people of Israel are largely Jews from Europe. They were very much a part of the European intellectual tradition. Israel has that as its foundation. Pakistan should compare its intellectual standards with the rest of the Islamic world. In that it fares very well - maybe 2nd only to Iran.
Science without religion and religion without science both are incomplete. But don't rely too much on science.
Religion has nothing to do with science.
