I can not WAIT to show my daughter this. I have naturally curly hair so I have never been that great at helping her with hr straight hair. She has a bit of a very soft wave but always wants more curl. Being in 8th grade she is just learning how to work with her hair and I am not much help. So thanks for such a great easy to follow video. Also you look EXACTLY like Rita Hayworth! Look her up because she was a gorgeous red head who had the best hair!

Something that has really helped me with heatless curls is to tie a silk scarf around my head so that my hair doesn't get frizzy or fall out while I sleep :))
I'll totally be trying this, so many heatless curl methods are just SOOO uncomfy bc I'm a side sleeper lol

@@AnnabelleJoyHooper How did you get the headband out of your hair so easily? It was a nightmare trying to unwrap all of the hair from the headband. It was tangled so badly, especially the back. At one point I thought I was going to have to cut the hairband off my head. My hair is much longer than yours so I'm wondering if this doesn't work for long hair?

So pretty!! I would recommend rolling those front curtain bangs away from your face instead of towards, it’s a lot easier to style them that way :)

Where I live this technique for curling hair has been around for generations aswell as using cotton "rags".
What do you use for the band??
@@Deelitee I cut about 4 inches off the bottom of an old T-shirt, cut the loop to your size, fill it with batting, and stitch it together.
Don’t fill the batting all the way to the ends. You want to leave a few inches so you can tie it together. Put a couple stitches at the end of the batting so it doesn’t come down to the tie ends.
I hope this makes sense. It really is easy to do. Good luck.
I tried this last night and omg it was so flipping easy and it even worked on my long hair, I just layered it over itself and gently took it out in the morning. It looks flawless and beautiful. Thank you, it's incredible and I'll probably do this every night

@@DAnn-wi7nmI have wavy hair already, so maybe that had something to do with it but mine stayed all day, I had oiled my hair generously the night before. And added a touch of hair spray as well after I had brushed it out. I hope this helps!
Ha! I love this! An added tip for women with super-long hair (22+ inches): You'll need to combine two or more headbands (or bathrobe ties), and use huge sections going all the way around your head with one, then overlapping it with the other or you'll come out looking like Cher at the 2017 Billboard Awards. Not necessarily a bad look, but probably not for the office. ♥

I feel this! My hair is down to my hips and if I do this method it ends up in knots. I can’t quite visualize what you’re explaining but I will try to figure it out!
@@alieaton4254 I got you, sis. This is the video I learned it from. You can experiment with how you wrap your hair around it, but this is the best method for my hair (also down to my hips) and the most comfortable to sleep on.

This is a great idea!!! I can't tell you how many nights I slept on very large curlers when I was young back in the 1960's and 70's. This should definitely be the way to go.
I was there with you! My mom was a hairdresser and every Saturday night I was put in foam rollers. Talk about difficult sleeping! I guess I got used to it. 😂
Finally…. an overnight curls video… where I don’t hurt my neck or lose sleep… and it’s not complicated… and it actually works. I’m going to start doing this all the time and think it will help me keep my long hair instead of just cutting it off😂

This looks exactly how I used to wear my hair back in 1978, when I was 17-18 years old. My hair was blonde, though. I used to set it with pins and soft rollers, and then a curling iron to "fix" the front curtain bangs.
My hair used to be gorgeous like yours when I was younger I had really a lot of body wave and curl and when I did that it was crazy curly but you gotta pull it out brush it like you did absolutely beautiful gorgeous I gotta start doing this again to get my body back up in my age🥰
This is life changing ❤️Protip Use a wide tooth comb to brush then out of you prefer a more loose curl.

DAY ONE OF TRYING THIS TO SEE IF RESULTS ARE CONSISTENT:
It’s 4:22 in the morning as I’m writing this but felt this was obligatory because of what I just noticed, lol. I haven’t gone to bed yet(shocker) and I’ve just done this, and I have noticed two things:
*_(1)_* Because my hair is naturally thick and curly, instead of leaving some gaps i between hair strands the headband is completely covered at the sides and back, lol
*_(2)_* I now look like I’m from a foreign country because of my skin and the design of the hand band and I’m loving it.
Because it was completely covered at the back I didn’t need hairpins and I just shoved the remaining strands into the existing loops of hair and it seems sturdy, lol.
I’ll update in the morning if I remember but I doubt I will, lol.
EDIT TO DAY1:
Woke up and took everything out, and was disappointed to see my hair barely curled and flat. I let it dry for a bit and fluffed my hair, to see that I forgot my hair type!! 😂 I have naturally curly hair but had no idea how to maintain it, and this helped a lot!! The curls are tight but not Afro and they are voluminous when a bit of coconut water is sprayed and massaged! Didn’t give the result I wanted but the one I needed, lol. Was very comfortable to sleep with and had no issue apart from being paranoid because I didn’t put the pins in, haha.
DAY2:
Did 3 sections of hair instead of whatever I did the first time. Ended up liking it more but I forgot to brush it out afterwards, lol.
Day3:
Didn’t do it last night but can still see the effects from the two previous days!
Washed my hair out thoroughly this night since it really needed it, lol.
Day4:
Kept my hair in a bun all day but when I loosed it out I still had neater curls than usual!

I’ve got the same headband and done this for the last 2 nights and it is honestly a game changer I’ve lost zero sleep and done them quite tight I’ve tried so many different methods and struggle with sleep every time this method I’ve lost zero sleep infact I’ve overslept and the curls when I undo it honestly is so beautiful best method ever so thank you

Just retired 30 yrs as a hairdresser and owning a small successful business. Amazing Technique. However, I never use a comb or brush with curls. I always use my fingers. Best tool money can’t buy. Using a brush or comb when do we curls can be a recipe for disaster as it may and usually will make the hair frizzy. I recommend putting a smoothing cream like Bed Head “ After Party”. (It has a glimmer shine and is very very light product.) or a light serum. These products will NOT make hair greasy or take too much of the curl out, but it keeps the spirally shape, and eliminates any frizz. Put product in one palm, use fingers to grab product. Start at mid way and work towards ends. (it holds curls longer) continue to “ separate curls,or “comb with fingers”...never spay on top of head, this usually gives “helmet head”...Lift hair at roots then spray. I also spray my palms really good, rub hands together quickly and “scrunch” from the roots. Starting from top of head work to the back of head. Anyway just my 2 sense.lol. You did a fantastic job and you explained it simple and clear. Not only am I very impressed, I’m going to try this technique tomorrow. Thank you so much for sharing
