Murano is very nice to drive, considering they are not expensive to buy and quite good on fuel (for the engine size of course) you just need to assume the risk of transmission failure… Which might happen or not if you’re lucky and treat it well

I have a 2010 Murano and i just love it. It has the bose stereo and great bass. Drives great and AC blows cold. Love the styling of the vehicle and the wheel set. Oil easy to change love the v6 power and reliability I have had this vehicle for about a year and a half. Would like to find a convertable version somewhere though. Love your review graat job

After researching some similar midsize SUVs, this one showed up: seemed reliable, good crash tests, nice looking. We found an 09 with almost $200k but was 1 driver, with all service being done at their local dealership. Praying this is a blessing to the family and brings her many years of safe, happy driving.
Really good cars man! This is one I'd trust to be reliable for a long time. We just hit 198k in ours and still drive it about 500miles a week for work!
I do appreciate the 'sections' but I didn't notice them and there are no title but good job. Typically, I go to reviews only for reliability, good/bad things about engine, etc. You may want to cover that as a first point as everything else takes way too long and requires patience. Cockpit... don't care about, etc.

Wow! That's hardly any miles for a major failure. I really wish Nissian could get that CVT transmission figured out; their motors will literally last forever when maintained. Yearly transmission services help prolong the transmission's life a ton! But it's still the weak point unfortunately.
I miss my 09 awd. I had to let it go due to wiring issue. So I upgraded to a 15 awd. I wish I would have done further research. I miss the 3500 lbs of towing capacity compared to only now 1500 lbs
We really missed the fuel economy of the Murano. We'd average 20-23 on the highway out of it with the 3.3l. Switched to an 08 Honda Pilot with the 3.5l and that average dropped to 17-18 at best. Liked the Honda a little better, slightly better storage, 3 rows of seats, and a much better AWD system. But the Murano's are nice too and actually get the mileage you'd expect from an SUV of this size, they drive a little nicer too. Now we have an expedition with the 3.5 ecoboost that gets around 20-21mpg on the highway, not a bad truck, it's just too big. But if the pilot only gets 17-18 why not have something full sized that gets better mpg and can tow? Hoping to get it sold and try something smaller again. I too have been learning to do a lot more research when considering a vehicle, but biggest thing for me is get out there and do lots of test drives to decide! Even then, you never really know how you'll like something until you've had it for a year or two.
@@dakotacollett4065 electrical issue. First I thought it was a bad battery. Next I thought it was the alternator had it repaired | replaced. Kept having the same issue. I towed it to the dealer and had them do a diagnostic on it and found out it was the wiring harness for the engine. Basically all the symptoms | issues of a failing engine wiring harness

Oh interesting. I'm having to dig into window tint laws unfortunately with a new project, coming to the channel soon. These are not bad suv's. We really enjoyed having this one and miss it. They're also fairly easy to work on and overall reliable. However, I would highly recommend avoiding them because of the CVT or automatic transmission issues they're infamous for. Car drives great. Axles seem to go out quite often. Bad design there. I've replace one twice and all of them at least one. A piece of crap. Add to that, the fact that at most the transmission will last 200,000 miles if you're lucky. Once the transmission goes, it worthless. Replacing the transmission will cost more than the car is worth. But it's definitely comfortable and fun to drive for being a piece of crap.
Yes, the CVT is the biggest downfall of these vehicles. I could recommend them if it wasn't for the transmission at $4,000 a pop and guaranteed failure haha. I agree the body of the car is built cheaply and there are a few components that become wear items on this car. I suppose luckily it's pretty easy to work on? The engines are great, great SUV in terms of comfort and fuel economy, but that transmission... Sold this car right at 200k on the original CVT.
Agreed with other comments... AVOID... This is Not a car to buy used. Especially not with miles. UNLESS it is flawless with paper service records for literally everything AND the transmission has been recently replaced with warranty.
Great question! The "screen" you see in the car, is just a liquid LCD / pixel screen - all it displays are radio information and climate control. There is no straight-forward / inexpensive way to add a backup camera to the S unfortunately. However, you can add an aftermarket backup camera to any car... If you needed to add a backup camera to the Murano S, you would need to purchase an aftermarket kit to replace the Radio to a double din / something with a screen & camera capability. Then the camera would have to be wired into it from the back of the car... Checkout www.crutchfield.com/car/outfitmycar/mycar.aspx for some of the best kits - they walk you through exactly what you need for your can and what it would cost. Some kits do have a separate monitor or other options than needing a new radio head unit. You could add an independent monitor or even a rear-view mirror with a screen in it for the camera. There are a lot options if you need a backup camera, but there's unfortunately not a great inexpensive way to make it work seamlessly with this car without some upgrades / modifications.

Thanks for watching! I'm not a certified mechanic so you might do some more research online. The trans is really the only weak point on these cars, but there's no real time frame as to failure. Some suggest it happens early on if it's going to - around 120k miles. However, I've seen plenty of high mileage cars on the original trans - like ours over 322,000km (200k miles) when we sold it still driving great. The biggest thing is to have the transmission serviced every year or at least every 48,000km. The 3.5l v6 is a great engine and should last a long time when maintained. If it weren't for the transmission these would easily be over 400,000mile cars. Just get your oil changed using full synthetic every 8,000km & take care of everything and it should take care of you.
I have a 2009 Nissan Murano, I have had it since I had 26000 miles. I have had the air conditioning replaced at about 60000 miles, new transmission at about 80000 miles which I had. Extended warranty for that thank God. Now it's got 212,000 miles and was just told it needs another transmission. So I'm going to say your transmission will be going soon. I love my Nissan but it's a headache for problems.
Wow you've had that car a long time! Ours has been a work car since new, but still works great, drives great, and is super comfortable. If it was in better shape, I could see owning one of these forever. It's too bad the transmissions are junk, the 3.5l v6 would literally run forever. While ours is in perfect mechanical condition otherwise, it was just in for transmission service and I was told the fluid is horrible & chunky. It's failing... be interesting to see how long it lasts. Just at 200k. Funny you say they are a headache, I'd much rather work on an Audi than a Nissan, but maybe it's just what I'm used to? Are you going to put a second transmission into yours?
It really depends on the trim level you buy, mine was the most basic edition sold in 2009 so no bluetooth. However many do come with it and other features like heated seats, backup camera, proximity key, etc.
Unfortunately not if your car has the same radio the one in the video has... I believe there is an old school Aux port though you could use a bt receiver with

You don't have a backup camera because you have the S version.

Unfortunately not on my model... The higher trim levels, however, do a proximity key which you do not have to insert

yes they do come with bluetooth.
