My Pouring Medium is the Valspar Ultra 833124 Base C high gloss: MinWax gloss varnish ~ 3:1 ratio to start, adjusted for consistency from there, aiming for a 2-3 second trace when mixed with paints.

We've all had those days. In the end, this turned out really, really nice. Love the colors & the composition is great. Thanks for sharing that we all have bad days. Saturday I scraped a canvas 6 times, went back Sunday and completed what I needed too & love the results I got
I hear you, Anita, 🧡some days it just doesn’t feel like it’s right in no matter what you do. Things are coming together, I know when I start sensing a day like that I just pack it up and say I’ll come back tomorrow. No sense wasting time and frustration.

LOL - I actually really like that drag and pull part you don't care for, Louise. I like that part a LOT. 🥳🥳Yes, I've had paintings go like this. Just yesterday, in fact! It was not a swipe - chaos dutch pour with way more chaos than I'd intended. 🤪🤪LOL🙄🙄 It had good parts at the start, and others that were like - UGH! and I kept attempting to fix them. Yeah, it was one of those things where doing more and more and more was sort of not going at all where I wanted it to - ever. So annoying! Grrrrrrr. I do very much like the final outcome on your piece. Mine came out fine for something I'll add to it later on....so it's all good. As far as your Lazy Susan here, I could see many people really liking this for their kitchen or dining table - or wherever. It is stunning! 🥰🥰

Louise those colors are so cool to swipe. I did a canvas using similar colors with puddle pours and swiping. That painting is hanging on the wall in my husband’s home office. He said sorry that one is not for sale it is mine. 😊😊😊❤❤❤

I think your lazy Susan art is awesome and your clips are so easy to listen to as opposed to so many whose (sorry) screechy voices are difficult to do so. Love your perseverance and cutting out of unnecessary long parts of clips. I’ve subscribed. I just know I’m going to get hooked. Tx for your beauuutiful art. Very inspiring. Such a pity that Floetrol is hard to come by in South Africa and if you do its exhorbitantly priced but well get there with experimenting with all sorts of other stuff. Thank you, Charlene, you and me both about doubts, but you got a couple choices drive on and keep trying or give up and scrape it, and since the first part of the first swipe was so good I figured it was worth continuing., I don’t think I have a favorite color palette, I love different color palettes!

This is really cool. I was just thinking....my husbands most hated phrase!!! What if you did a transparent base on a lazy susan and then a swipe in these colours. That way the wood would show through as negative space? I really love those earthy colours and you could stain the wood like you do the stick pieces you get. You'd have to sand the finish off first though. My brain never stops, I just wish my brain would coordinate with my hands so I could actually do these ideas!! ❤
That’s actually a really good idea, Joey, 😘however, the Lazy Susan’s that I get from IKEA are not what I would want to expose the wood of. It’s not even a solid piece of wood on top. It’s a compilation of probably three or four boards, so I definitely wouldn’t want that to show through. there’s definitely some coordination between the brain and the hands lol😅
@@LouiseMcKayArt That's too bad, they do actually look like a nice grain on the computer screen. Speak for yourself! My brain goes a hundred miles an hour with different ideas that would never ever work in the "real world".🤣😂

For a moment there, I thought you had painted a bird. It's given me an idea for a cross over style. Swipes to start with to create the basic shape. Then a silhouette painted over that, bird, dragon, bear, what ever the artist started in the swipe.
Now if that Lazy Susan gets too rambunctious, make her stand in the corner, or sit on a chair.

Louise, we don't make mistakes here, only happy accidents. If there's a log cabin, it's best it's left undisturbed, the way Bob Ross did in his paintings.

Hi Gail, 😘thank you so much. I don’t know why you have trouble hearing me, I went back and listened and it’s pretty audible, so I will try to turn up the volume next time. But I don’t wanna blast everybody else out.
Liquitex advertises that their pouring medium makes bubbles dissolve. If you have any of the Multi Pro left, you might want to add a tablespoon or two and see what happens.

So pretty. I'm wondering if there is a reason to put all the paint on the palette knife with the cell activator versus putting the colors on the canvass and then just swiping through with the cell activator I've seen it done both ways, but I don't think anyone has said why one over the other. Thanks!!!
Thank you, Dee, just preference. I guess I’ve done it both ways, both ways work just fine. I think either way yields practically the same results so I don’t think it really matters. If you want less spilled from the palette knife, then lay your colors down and then swipe with the activator.
