USS Carney is a Flight I ship in the Arliegh Burke class that was laid down over 30 years ago. I believe her combat performance has shown that even the oldest destroyers in active service are still very capable ships.
@EnglishScripter Sure, these boats receive all kinds of refits and go through extensive maintenance periods. Same way an airframe or an armored vehicle would, but an old piece of equipment is still old. That's why it's impressive when they hold up.
My brother was on the USS Carney during that mission. He was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with combat c device) for neutralizing 3 of the attack drones during that deployment. Couldn’t be more proud
The people on this ship were sow aweome. They were so amazing that it brought tears . It reminded me of my father . LTJG WW2 LST #303 Philippines Studs!! Thank you to all❤❤❤
A big BZ to not only just the crew of Carney but the entire battle group, even if it was a unusually long deployment. Thanks to all now serving, those who have, and those who will in the future. FLY NAVY!!!
High morale is inaccurate and discipline in the Navy is abhorrent. But constant training and a need from the organization to consistently grind sailors to complete the mission is a constant.
Not saying navy training and readiness is perfect, but I think the results speak for themselves, these sailors handled business when it arose and did a pretty damn good job. Respect coming from army
BZ USS Carney. You got some! Recalling some gun battles with USS O'Callahan and USS Turner Joy ( and about 10 more destroyers on the gun line near the DMZ) and more as we closed out Vietnam. However, you all appear far sharper than I remember me. 🎉
Awesome video! I liked the interviews. Thank you to the officers and the crew of USS Carney DDG-64. DDG-16, DDG-22 and DDG-36 for me in the 70's. I was an FTG. Three deployments during the Vietnam War and two deployments after the Vietnam War. I think FTG's and FTM's are combined now into FC's which was the original rating years ago.
USS Carney is an Arleigh Burke-cla-class destroyer doing what destroyers have alqays done. They go ALONE in harm's way to face the risks that WARships face great crew and as usual with the USN, great training. Well done, all! --Bob Bailey in Maine
Not since Falklands War has a warship been under prolonged battle conditions. While Desert Storm had bouts of tension and threats, this ship was faced with a range of threats over a 8-month period. Lots to learn all navies. .
My nephew just returned from Dwight Eisenhower's mission in the red sea and he had the time of his live .. It was like a floating bro thel, but completely free. Everyone did it with everyone, even those with a spouse back home.
Related to the Eisenhower False claims from the Houthis said they hit the ship with missiles not sure if your Nephew knows about this 😅 (Don’t look at the comments talking about it, it will save you from a headache)
Those are America's babies and America loves each and every one of her babies. Don't let any one of them get hurt or injured because she loves her babies and those are her babies. America loves her babies.
We're counting on you guys to help maintain global trade. If there's some kind of morale busting component to this mission, I've never heard anything of it, so we're assuming morale is high for maintaining global trade.
@@TopFloorSnipa Well messes are closed regardless, but yah I seen that stupidity, whoever the COMBAT SYSO and COMMO ARE apparently even bought off on it. As a comm dude Id never buy off on it. I think it's safe to say shit went from 0 to 100 real quick on the Carney. That was 505Ft of American Diplomacy at work right there. And the Houthis learned the meaning of the word FAFO. Real quick.

Surely it's been refitted?
@@EnglishScripterYes. Of course. 🤦🏻♂️
@@frankeppenridge2027 So why does this post make it sound like it’s not been.
Laid down = built. Not as in laid to rest.
@EnglishScripter Sure, these boats receive all kinds of refits and go through extensive maintenance periods. Same way an airframe or an armored vehicle would, but an old piece of equipment is still old. That's why it's impressive when they hold up.
And a HUGE thanks to the crew of Carney and all our military who keep our enemies from our gates.
Thank you so much for your service! You couldn’t represent America any better. Much appreciated!

for the US that is a small ship lol the only ships that are smaller are the LCS

Seeing this gives me a lot of confidence in our Navy and all of the military. They are obviously well trained and have high morale.
