The moment you said that the Olay skin moisturizer wouldn't leave a white cast on darker skin, I liked immediately!
Yeah I would love to do a collab video in the future with youtubers of different skin tones where we all apply my favorite sunscreens, so everyone can get a better sense of how they look. Patients with darker skin types do really well with the cotz natural skin tone SPF 40, so that is what i usually recommend, but would be nice to know about others.
Please do! I'm scouring your videos now looking for more sunscreen. I'm a NW45 ish skin tone but I have Lupus so I burn very easily on the face. I've been using the Sephora brand 8HR Mattifying Moisturizer but it only has SPF 20. Also, in 2005 my mom had melanoma. She's the same skin tone. She survived but had to have half her lower jaw removed. Neither of us spend excessive amounts of time in the sun but I'm in Houston and she's in Louisiana so we're exposed to higher temps. My mom freaks out & gets sad every time she sees my face burnt.
Ugg I always have a problem with a grey cast with sunblocks it looks horrible and dirty yet no body else knows what I’m talking about when I complain the companies 1800 numbers think I’m nuts
It makes me laugh a little that you must be standing really close the shelves and what people must think 😂😂 I so appreciate that you do this, I’d never have the nerve to do this in public.
new to your videos, just discovered today. have you reviewed the ordinary?
Donna Duncan she did. Just look for dr dray the ordinary
If I was one of those people seeing her talk in the aisle I’d look around and pretend like I’m shopping and listen to her and take all her wisdom in lol
M B 😄mee too lol
I love Dr Dray! She does not discriminate! Thank you for not skipping over the “ethnic” section. 👏👏👏👏👏
thanks for watching
Hi Dr. Dray, it may seem insignificant but thank you for going through the ''ethnic section'' of skin care. ;)
Definitely not insignificant! We appreciate it!
🤗
She's the best
I was just about to type this! ❤️
🙌🏿😍
I cant believe how much these companies lie to us. So glad to not be under their thumb anymore. Thankyou for educating us and saving us money
Love love love these “shop with me” videos!!! Props for filming in public by going through each and every product in the aisle! 👏🏼💚
Thanks Ms Liah :) Texans are pretty friendly, so it makes it easy. Hope you are having a nice weekend
I honestly think this is the best video I've ever seen on TH-cam. It's not that I won't spend more because I do. What I like is that it's not always necessary and your professional, no nonsense approach is very much appreciated. I feel like I'm there getting assistance that I otherwise wouldn't have! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!! I'm storing this for future reference!! Have a great Monday! 😊
Lori Abercrombie yes I think she is amazing
Thanks!
Lori Abercrombie Yes,i totally agree & am storing this one also for future reference!! 👍🏽
Bought the Olay with SPF 30 sensitive today and I think I finally found an spf moisturizer I can stick to! Thanks doc!
Cracked me up with the NeverEnding Story reference and the Zeasorb AF. LOL!
lol
Melanie Cregger, me too! 😂😂
Melanie Cregger and the beard balm lol balmy beard 😂 lol
Been following you for a very long time. You are definitely the best Dermatologist here. Your content is relevant in 2022 as it was 3 years ago. Thank you.
I love sitting on the store shelve while you impart chemistry/product truths. Kind of like being a little gnome person. 🤗
Ha ha ha ha ha
Dr. Dray, I really like how you cover so many different drugstore products on your shops. Every outing is a new adventure and lesson in how to identify beneficial ingredients. You rock!
Thanks for watching!
These videos help me a lot because Walmart is the only place I can go and buy stuff for skin
:)
Dr Dray I'm not sure if you can ascertain which stores you find are most cost effective for the products you like?
Knowing you like Simple makes me so happy because it's one of the few skincare items I've ever used that doesn't make my skin freak out. The replenishing moisturizer is my life.
This is by far my favorite content from you!!😀😀You keep it real on what works!!
Thanks! Glad you liked it Ms Sarah and hope you are having a Happy Monday :)
Thank you so much for doing these "shop with me" videos! These are my favorite videos that you do.
I recently discovered your channel, and I absolutely love your content! I have been watching a lot of beauty "gurus" on youtube for a long time, and they are always talking about what you should and shouldn't use in your skincare routine when they actually have no idea what they are talking about. You have taught me a lot about skincare, and have also saved me a lot of money with your suggestions! Thanks for keeping it real!
:)
This is exactly how I feel! Thank you Dr. Dray you are my fave TH-camr!
So true! hearing those gurus express their "obsession" with high-end fragrance filled products is scary. I've dropped Dr. Drays info in the comment section of a few channels a couple of times. Even sharing her info through IG DM's 🤷🏽♀️ passing along the wealth and saving a few of their subscribers 😂
You can’t trust most gurus because a lot of them do sponsored videos and don’t disclose it. Even getting the products for free through PR can bias a review.
Beauty gurus are nothing more than paid hucksters. Most of them aren't even professional makeup artists, let alone dermatologists or aestheticians. Notice how every new product is their "holy grail" yet you never see them use it again after the sponsored video.
These are my FAVORITE videos. These videos save me so much time. Know what works and what does not. My five year old and I have sensitive skin and I could not get figure out what to and not to buy. The labels are so deceiving. My kiddo, my wallet and our skin thank you so much. Didn’t need to pay our high co pays just you to break down what not to put on our skin. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
i bought that foot repair ointment you recommended and my feet are finally smooth and soft! i recommended it to my friends too. :)
Running out to get it tomorrow!
Oh my goodness, you are magic! I, at 58, still don't know my products for nothing. I was just in Walmart looking at product and gave myself a headache. Thank you so much for doing the legwork. Now I need to go back and buy myself some good face products according to Dr. Dray! I wish I lived closer to your office, I have had no luck here in Maine finding someone like you to help me. Thank you again for another wonderful video. Have a happy, healthy day............Mary
:)
I use Wal-Mart brand baby soap three in one. It's the only soap/shampoo/bodywash I use. Anything else makes me itchy, or gives me an eczema outbreak. I use coconut oil and tea tree oil as a conditioning treatment, and for a moisturizer. I use aloe vera gel on my face. I get it all at Wal-Mart.
I enjoy this type of videos. Not only are they informative, but for me it's really fun to see all those products that I haven't seen in the shelves in my country for years, not to mention all the new stuff.
Lesson learned: I'm spending way too much on my skincare. 🤦♀️
:)
Yeah turns out the simpler the better
The worst is all my skincare is useless because of FRAGRANCE!!!
My skin suffered until I stop buying my skincare from Target/Walmart/drugstores. But I have insanely finicky skin...no tea tree oil, no sunscreen, no lavender, no salicylic acid, no benzoyl peroxide, etc.
AlphaDog Elite3 Fragrance doesn’t equal useless, but it best to afford.
I love when you take us into stores and show us what is good and not so good. These kind of videos are so helpful for me as I get overwhelmed with what I should try for my very dry sensitive skin. I shop a lot at Walmart and I'm not able to order things online so thank you for doing these videos. Have a great week.
We completely agree, Julie! 😁
Browsing the shelves of stores is super relaxing for me, so these shopping videos are the best🙆♀️
These videos are awesome. I’ve watched like 6 today because my skin a year postpartum is muuuuch different than my younger self! Living in the interior of Alaska (and being from Florida), I suffer from SUPER dry skin. Your video about Simple waterboost gel cleanser changed the game for me!!!!! And when you recommended CeraVe moisturizing cream, I knew you were smart because it’s the only thing that works for my daughter’s eczema!! Thank you so much!!!
You should do a review on really traditional products, the kind that our moms would use, like Ponds. Thank you for all your opinions!
I'm floored how expensive Ponds is now? What?
Carmen Gomez yes!
@@isabellac5669 Seriously? Ponds is cheap as chips, here in Canada. A regular size pot is $ or $7 bucks. I use it to remove my makeup before cleansing my face. Unfortunately, we dont have the fragrance free one here in Canada yet.
i didn't really start taking care of my skin until i was 40. honestly, the barrage of products was too hard on my adhd brain. i had no idea what i needed or where to start. i am 44 now and because of you i know exactly what skin care products are best for my aging skin. IMHO my skin looks amazing! i have never worn make up, so sunscreen and mascara is my jam. thank you so much for what you do! keep on keeping on!
I’m a guy and I recommend Every Man 2% salicylic Face Wash !
I've been using Differin for approximately 3 months after watching your video and seeing results! KP decreasing and people have commented that wrinkles are reduced. Just wish I could do something about eye bags, lol. Really appreciate your no nonsense approach to skin care. Love Hada Labo products too!
Ugh I love when she does this. I LIVE for these videos!! She is my favorite You Tuber. 😍😍😍
:)
Dr. You are my new best friend. Thank you for sharing your wisdom, humor, and honesty!!!!
You're so nerdy and dorky and so informative on skin care ! I love it. Thank you so much! What is your opinion on Derm. physician Assistant?
Thank you ❤️
I love going shopping with you!!!! I really like that you give us options at affordable prices and show us we don't have to have all this stuff that is over priced and not good for our skin. You seemed extra chipper in this video too love it!!!! Thank you for great content.
“Atreyu!!!!”......I’m dead🤣⚰️......that was a classic 80’s movie!!! Appreciate the field trip to Walmart!! I have learned a plethora of information from you ma’am! 😊
:)
Dr. Dre’s comments on beard products gives me life!
"In the cage"...lol. You crack me up. Your videos never disappoint. Thx!
Wayfaring Stranger that part cracked me up too!
Just bought the Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer, and although I have only used it once, I am feeling positive that this is going to be my ‘go to’ for awhile!! Very hydrating without being greasy or shiny. My skin loves it so far. Thank you for your store walk throughs, as it makes shopping for skin care so much less overwhelming.
I love your videos, been a fan for a while now! You've inspired me to SPF multiple times a day and to go to school to become a dentist! Wishing you happiness, safety, and success!
:)
I can testify to the great results from Kerasal. As a life long runner my feet were a mess and I went in for pedicures at least twice a month just to keep my callus at bay. Since taking Dr. Dray advice using the Keasal my heels and toes are really nice again. They are soft all the time and the nails look super healthy.
:)
I love these videos from a medical professional. The beauty gurus are always using $500 worth of products, which in my opinion, doesn't appear to be working for them. Lol.
Pretty Accountant yes especially since most of them end up getting fillers anyway!
💀😅
Yes other wise they’d lay off the Botox and things to make them look totally different than enhance their beauty
Exactly. Like, how can I trust you when you slather on layers of makeup?😞
Right?! I used to think expensive products meant “better results” & that’s not the case.
Thank you for your no nonsense, keeping it real video on skin care products. I love your content and especially these types of videos. Besides being informative you make me smile. My skin is better because of you. You’re awesome!
glad you enjoyed
That Teddy Ruxpin doll lol!!! When my brothers and I were little my mom bought the talking and singing mechanical one for my youngest brother. He was COMPLETELY terrified of it. My mom would tell me each night to go turn it on for him because the creepy thing read a story as you fell asleep. He would BEG me to please not turn it on (he had undiagnosed autism at the time and could not vocalize his wishes to my parents, but I think I understood because I was also a young kid). I would walk out of his bedroom and tell my mom that I had turned it on when I really hadn’t. I would just hide it in his closet so he didn’t even have to look at it. He still thanks me to this day and we are 35 and 40 years old lol!!!
Rebecca 🤣😍
lol my son didn t like him either. He deliberately broke him. Poor teddy!
Hi Dr.Dray , I am a huge youtuber follower and I can’t say how much information you have given me compared to all the “beauty gurus” , I’ve saved so much and learned so much! Thank you so much!
thanks!
I love these Videos You Have Changed my Skin and Choices so much more then you will ever Know. Thank You so Much for All the Skin Care Help.
:)
You must be so confident to walk around a shop I really admire you I love this video so informative xx
Would you do a series on Lush skincare??? I'd love to hear what you have to say about it
Aleisha Rockett I am guessing because their products are highly fragrant, Lush may not get a thumbs up?
@@gabbebelle they are also high in organic, healthy ingredients, so I'd still like her professional opinion via TH-cam lol.
organic and healthy means nothing in skincare. Lush products are full of essential oils, plant extracts and heavy fragrance. You're better off splashing water on your face
Just no. Please don't do that to your skin. Lots of essential oils and fragrances and abrasive particles.
Lush makes products for people who already have perfect skin who want to pamper themselves with skincare products. There’s no science behind any of their products. And 99.999% of them are acne, break out, irritation bombs that would’ve just been better off as candles or mixed drinks.
I really love on how not biased you are in giving your opinions. Keep making quality videos! Love from Malaysia 💞
thanks!
The Olay in the cage 😂 Hysterical and yet so full of accurate and useful information. Thank you once again for making a wonderful video! xo
:)
I love your personality even looking back at older video like this one you just make me smile 💗
Therapy: expensive
Dr. Dray making jokes about skincare: free
😂🙌🏻
As a young woman, and on my way to becoming a doctor myself, I value your dedication to serving the public the knowledge needed to make informed choices about skincare, so I thank you for this channel and for not oversimplifying your parlance. A vlogger/TH-camr with multisyllabic words in their lexicon is quite refreshing, so Bravo to you :). I wear non-aluminum containing deodorant, and in the NY heat, it can be challenging to remain stink-free. I would like to know if you would comment on or even test-drive Every Man Jack's non-Aluminum Deodorant, Nuxe body deodorant and Primal Pit Paste? Thanks, Dr. Dray!!
These videos are awesome! Also, your side commentaries are hilarious!
thanks
I love that u list all the products u like u reccomend 💟
I’ve recently found you and definitely vamped up my skin care based on everything you recommend and sunscreen!! 😂😂 even have my friends on my skin care rampage
:)
Lexie Walt SAME!!!!! Rampage!
I swear by the Neutrogena Anti-Wrinkle night moisturizer. I’ve used it for years, it’s my favorite Neutrogena product.
I will love to see you doing this kind of review of products from the pharmacy section from Ulta store plus a review from La Roche Posay, Exuvian, Dermatologica, Vichy, Skin Laundry sections, and the Korean skincare too very much appreciated thanks
Angelous 777 I use to study with Dermatolgica. Very expensive, and many skin care salons don't carry it! I didn't find any benefits! You have to know how to use the products only professionals can utilize, so everyday consumers can't get their hands on them!
Thank you! I’ve been binge watching your videos from the very first one! I got to the one where you showed how the kerasol works on you’re feet, so I bought some. I’m 3 days into using it and I’m super happy with the results, I was impressed after the first night. Also, it reminded me of how I sleep much better with socks on! ❤️
I screen “shotted” so many things! I’m definitely trying your at home “pedicure trick.” Love your videos as always!
:)
GM! I feel like I got a little treat b/f going to work! I go to Wal-mart too many days a week and get vexed at the products, wanting an "inside look" on what really works. I trained as an Esthetician five years ago and have not been in the loop but plan to be more in as I am going to open a 'healing place' business o retreat...but I digress. I really enjoyed your professional point of view and plan to watch more. Do more like this!
Simple is my absolute favorite makeup remover because I have super sensitive skin and eyes. The Micellar water is the best! Too many products have too much fragrance in them.
:)
Hi Dr. Dray❤ I recently came across your channel and you're so helpful. I suffer from hormonal acne. Never had a bump in my life. Just turned 40 in Dec. I really love your channel. Thanks so much for sharing
😂Your sense of humor is one of the best! “Atreyu!” 😂😂😂 Love this video!
I LOVE these videos! You should do one with online skincare shopping like at Sephora or Ulta! Would love to see a video how about to fade dark areas on the body like knees and elbows!
Finally TH-cam recommended me something good! Thank you for your amazing content!!!
First time commenting, I always enjoy these videos. So often it feels like the consumerism often tricks us to spend way more than is necessary for achieving good results. I also really appreciate the information about the men’s skincare. My husband struggles with finding an effective routine!
"Look at this in a special cage" So funny :D I love these types of videos! Thank you so much for taking the time to make them for us :)
Thank you so much Dr. Dray. I started my fragrance free skin care routine this week because of you and the great information you share with us. ❤️
Does it work
Evans lalalalalala I will let you know, I just started
Another amazing video. Thank you so much. So much good information. As a beardsman the beard oil makes our beard hair softer the one with fragrance you discouraged I actually own and smells amazing (maybe it’s like your love for shampoo fragrance). Beard balm also softens the beard but also provides a bit more hold, for taming a frizzy beard. LOVE the thumbnail for this video. Maybe title should include men’s drug store products. Would help more men find you and take advantage of your invaluable information and fingers crossed enable you to get more users. Wish I could double thumbs up this video. Watched it twice already......!!
I want to shout about Differin from the rooftops! I can’t trust people who don’t like retinoids. I didn’t know about the Olay zinc oxide option, love that. Hopefully, more drugstore brands get on the wagon. Also, My dad has used Murray’s for over 30yrs! That was a nice flashback to my childhood.
I don't know if it is because I am sick and I can put my full attention to the video, but so informative. I loved it. Thanks for adding men stuff. Even though my husband is a stubborn person. I will get him the one you talked about who knows maybe he change his mind. He is always complaining about how harsh it is the razor on him. I used to pay a lot of money in expensive stuff. I love PCA though. Used Jan Mirini and clogged my pores so bad. I could feel pimples underneath my skin. Now using Cerave not such problem. 😘
feel better !
This video is so great Dr. Dray! So very helpful and professional! Very no nonsense and honest, thank you so much!
Thanks!
Dr Dray can you please do a video on anti perspirants? For hyperhidrosis.
Johnny Bensimhon She actually has a video for it! It’s one of her Friday Q&As
I just found your channel & I am in love. This is what I’ve been looking for. What will work and what won’t. Why it wont work and why it will. Explanations. It’s all very educational and I love it. Thank you so much. My skin is very complicated and all over the place & finding your channel was a start to amazing skin. ♥️
thanks
I friggin love these videos, oh your sense of humour, u got me lol in a quiet environment. People are looking at me as I type my comment, don't care, thank for the info and the laughs, you made my day
:)
Great video! I have been using Palmers Milk on my arms for several months, and the results have been terrific. The dark spots have faded dramatically.
I just love these kind of videos! Very helpful information....thank you for all you do to help us!!!
:)
Love that Olay sunscreen! I also love the Olay Sensitive Skin Face Cleanser. It doesn’t make my skin tight like the Cerave Foaming Cleanser. Something in the in Cerave Hydrating Cleanser and the Neutrogena Hydrating Gentle Skin Cleanser burns my skin. Hope you have a great week Dr. Dray!!!
I noticed the past few weeks the Cerave Hydrating Cleanser burning my skin, too...but I got a new Cerave Hydrating cleanser at Ulta and so far so good---haven't found it anywhere else.
:)
Dr. Dray I love African black soap but it´s funny that nobody knows why it works or how it works
Jamie Galarza I tried it... found it super drying. :(
Kelli Sherwood it definitely isn’t a fit for dry skintypes but it also depends on what kind you bought. shea moisture’s abs isn’t real abs and can give you burns+++any abs you buy shouldn’t actually be black, contrary to the name. it should be brown and black and have a kind of messy/breakable consistency.
Bought mine online years ago when i had jaw acne from pregnancy it helped alot
@@XenusMama I have oily skin so it helps with keeping my skin clean and also less shiny. It may not be for other skin types though.
Thanks for clarifying about the PCA bar vs Palmers and what makes them different! You answered that question AS it first dawned on me!
So enjoyable!!
Thanks again for helping me save my money on product's that aren't worth my money 😊
Happy Monday 🌻
:)
OMG your Vlog was excellent ! I’ve tried so many new products and learned so much because of your frank and honest reviews. I’ve loved every single one of the sunscreens I’ve purchased. Today you were exceptionally good and funny!
:)
Lol when she said the sunscreen was the only Olay product she recommends the very first thing in my head was "the onlay Olay".
Yes the market is huge and trust me it makes then nicer to look at touch. You should research the making of black soap its wonderful.
:)
I love these videos, it feels like I’m in the store with you. I love going to the store and seeing and the cool new products lol.😅
Glad to hear you enjoyed :)
Agree! It’s so fun and I’m learning so much! Thank you Dr. Dray!
This is TH-cam gold! Make a sub series going into stores reviewing related items. I love when you rip on products, telling us what nonsense is displayed on labels :D
i have a playlist of these videos btw
Enjoyed:)👍🏼 Love the drugstore skincare tour and recommendations (YAY) from Walmart!! Happy Monday;)🤠🐶
Happy Monday Ms Susan :)
The simple micellar wipes work wonders on my skin and don't leave a residue!!!! Highly recommend :)
I feel like I'm turning into a sunscreen obsessed vampire by watching your video lol. I love these videos too and also the videos of you going around Houston because I live here as well. ✌️😋
P.s thanks so much for going through some men's products.
I live in conroe
Please please do one of these for personal lubricant. Your knowledge of the chemical effects of these products would be a great help to women looking for an effective and safe product for our most sensitive area. Thank you in advance.
Love this one. Thoughts about Shea moisture line? The curl line really agrees with my hair thoughts on ingredients?
You are amazing. Being so generous and sharing your knowledge with us. The dermatologist I pay to visit does not offer any information at all. Even though I am asking he is quick to run out the door after prescribing me retina 0.1.
Thanks for watching!
@@DrDrayzday Hi Dr Dray. I was wondering if you could help me with a situation. I have some bumps on my lips that develop out of nowhere. They are the skin colored bumps accompanied with a rash that is on the corner of my mouth (on my face near the lips). This seems to happen only on one side. I went to my derm and he does not know whats happening and prescribed me Ala-Quin. It seems to get better when I use it but then when I stop it comes back with a day or two. I do not know what is causing this.
I’m so happy you talked about hyperpigmentation!!!😆
These are by far my favorite videos please never stop sharing these with us and your skin looks amazing!!!!
This is my favorite type of your videos!
Thanks!
Dear Dr .I am addicted to your vedios . After seeing 4-5 vedios of yours and I feel like all the other beauty vedios are fake . I have tried sunscreen and a couple of beauty products you recommended and it really make my skin so good . Otherwise my skin was dry acne prone rosacea type . Thank you
I wish their was a app where I could scan a item and it could tell me if it’s ok to use
I found your channel last night and now I’m watching this video and adding things to my shopping cart online. I’m a huge fan now 😍
thanks
Your skin looks fabulous! Whatever you say is good, I will buy.
Yes!!! I was just about to post a question asking if anyone could remember the ointment you recommended for the feet. Kerasal! Going to check it out. Thanks again for your helpful reviews. Please, please, PLEASE keep them coming!! ♥️
