its kind of telling how togashi messed with gon in this arc. remember back in yorknew city, gon got mad at the phantom troupe for killing innocent people, simply for getting in the way of what they wanted? and now here is gon, willing to kill an innocent girl to simply get what he wants. the parallels between gon and the king in this arc are brilliant.
is it really the same if gon doesnt kill the royal guard than it wont just be a little girl dying it would be all humans dying or many right? sure thats not gons main reason but stilll.
@@sheluwu gon would slowly torture, peel the skin off a thousand innocent civilians before neatly arranging all their organs and bonesinto one giant pentagram if it would bring Kite back
“What kind of war is it, if nobody’s died?!” What’re you talking about? The war technically started when the ants started attacking. Plenty of people have died already.
Exactly. Tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people have already died from the ants eating them. And if she wants named people the bee girl and bow dude that got his brain poked ate it awhile ago. Also KITE? Hello??? You know, the entire reason Gon's tweaking???

There's no way she said "give him some character development" regarding Killua, when he had the most of it in the entire anime. Meanwhile Gon is stagnating since Ep 1.

poor Killua...at the end of his rope, trying to keep a grip on Gon's sanity when that's NOT HIS JOB, but he just cares so much...truly, this arc is pain
The yo yo talk is interesting. Togashi’s body is notoriously constantly betraying him thus obviously leading to numerous hiatus. the original audience has certainly aged out of the era that Gon and Killua were created in but it still has the dated feeling to it because the story has not aged or been completed within its own time. That’s gotta be some tough creative decisions to be made during all these long breaks; do I acknowledge the hiatus within the story or do I carry on as if there was no break. I believe the world trigger creator acknowledged some of that during one of their long breaks to recuperate. Also how nice of Meruem to let Netero feel like a big man again.

ok actually in a previous video i mentioned weird translation decisions in cruncyroll subs & apparently they fixed one of them! when pitou says gon's fangs could reach the king's throat (an accurate translation), before the subs said something like "his power level could be equal to the king's!" or some shit like that which was 1. ridiculous & 2. like just completely not what they were saying 😭 so i'm glad they changed it lol! bc it used to confuse/mislead a lot of reactors in the past
Killua: I know, I'll lie that I'm worried about Gon's mental state and that'll trick Palm! Killua 0.001 seconds later: oh fuck these emotions are too real help help help
Its kind of interesting how both of Gon & Meruem's moralities are both tested and with completely opposite responses Gon is, for the first time, being confronted with how selfish he is and the fact that he is willing to let an innocent girl die if it means getting what he wants. It shows that he's an emotionally unstable *monster* deep down who's simply had the convenient excuse of "he's just a kid" up until this point. It makes his question to Chrollo about "Why kill innocents just tk get what you want" even more hypocritical. Hell, even Killua is starting to see it. Whereas Meruem is a *literal* monster who went from seeing humanity as just cattle, to caring deeply about a blind girl $ appreciating their matches, preferring to talk things over with Netero rather than fight him and showing signs of actually respecting humanity as a whole as a sentient species, survival of the fittest be damned.
Netero vs Meruem is a very short fight with a very long build up, but it was definitely worth the wait, also, I don't know why, but I thought the moment with Pouf making things worse for Pitou happened in like the 110's so I thought we were like still 20-something episodes from the end of the arc, but we've only got 10 episodes left, it's almost all gas now until the next arc, and even that arc I enjoy thoroughly and I can only hope you enjoy it half as much as I do
