I loved the story of the Wrexham community fighting to keep their team alive. Just glad Canadian Ryan and U.S. Rob have done well by the team and the community instead of it being something goofy.
I appreciate that Rob & Ryan take the fans very seriously and know that, ultimately, they have to protect the fans' investment in Wrexham at the same level they protect their own financial investment in the team. In the "Welcome to Wrexham" series, they even specifically say that it's fine for the actors to look a little ridiculous, but that the community and the fans are NOT to be ridiculed.
While McElhenney doesn’t have Reynolds’s money, he has more than meets the eye. He owns 2 Hollywood production companies, and produces three hit shows that broadcast globally. He also has part ownership in American retailers and tech startups.

Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground is the 3rd oldest professional club in the world and it is the oldest international stadium. The Kop is getting demolished and redeveloped to increase current capacity from 10k to 15k. Wrexham was a town, but recently upgraded by the Queen to a city.

It's important to note everyone is overlooking one glaring fact, Wrexham dropped out of the league system due to extremely poor management, they had enjoyed many years in the upper leagues even reaching tier2 and being a very good team in the past, but most people seem to be conversing like Wrexham is some small provincial town in the dark depths of Wales, this isn't a story of underdogs as such, this is a story of overcoming adversity and returning to where they belong, and yes this time maybe even looking at improving on past glories.
Watched wxm since 1975. Born in wxm. Also me and my wife were the first to get married in wxm football ground. 2009. Amazing to see what is happening here.
Foster was at Wrexham in 2005 on loan from Stoke city, I think it was league 2 level, the level they were just promoted to, Sir Alex's son Darren was also there, while watching his son he spotted Foster and signed him for man united the following transfer window. He signed for United to be the 3rd choice keeper, and played mainly reserve football, for a couple of years, was given a chance to be number 1, wasn't good enough unfortunately but played at the top level of English football for about 12 more years. He retired this past off-season, but was brought out of retirement about 2 weeks ago to play for Wrexham as the 2 or 3 main Gk's were injured.
The guy played more than 350 games and had the all time record of number of saves on the history of the premier league, also number 4 in penalty saves, and played for England, that's a first rate premier league goal keeper, even if he was never the biggest name out there.
I live in Michigan. I don't have a Football team to follow. I can't root for an Ohio Team like Columbus or Cincinnati, and don't even mention rooting for a Chicago team. I watched the docuseries on Hulu and then I watched any Wrexham televised games that I could on Hulu/ ESPN+. They have me hooked like a fish, and yes, I'm from The States. Somehow, my sister was about to get a Wrexham jersey, still pissed about that. I fell in love with the story but, I like the system of promotion and relegation. We don't have that system here. I like the idea of having every game matter. I know that money doesn't equal success. Our Seattle Mariners team is worth 2.2 Billion and has never won a World Series. Our football team Seattle Sounders have been doing quite well thou. Food for thought.
But in the minor leagues, they're owned by MLB teams. So when a player is doing well on a minor league team, players move up individually. Like the office blokes were saying, there would be a good reason for a great player to stay where they are. It is their choice.
Wrexham brought ben foster in because their starting keeper went down to season ending injury with like 3 weeks left in the season. He was superior to wrexhams reserve options. The social media is a pleasant bonus but they brought him in because Paul Mullin as great as he is, can't play goalie lol
I don't profess to know anything about Ben Foster but "22 million views in the first 10 minutes" after posting a video sounded...extraordinary! It looks like the most popular video on his channel was posted a year ago and has 4.4m. Still a lot, but a far cry from 22m! He does have one recent video on the Penalty Save that has Ryan Reynolds in the thumbnail and that has gotten 3.6m in just two weeks. But still a wee bit short of 22m in 10 minutes ;)
If you add up all the years (9) and hours (?)Jalen has devoted to football since high school to get to the Super Bowl last year, he will probably be earning about 50 cent per hour for that time that the Eagles will now benefit from in terms of revenue.
So a couple of Hollywood actors bought a soccer club and the team is improving but people are worried that if they get bored and sell the team, the team will decline? Very interesting.
I think Ben Foster said he gained 200k followers over the first week after he joined the club and took very little for his salary due to thinking this would be the case. There will be some players taking less to go there because they’re then getting endorsements they never would’ve had before. Some want the fame too. Reynolds, McElhenney, the CEO, and Shaun Harvey are really smart people and I’m sure they’re setting the foundation for all the financial issues being brought up.
How do we request videos for you to react to? I really want you to react to Ben Foster’s matchday vlog of when Wrexham got promoted - it’s amazing, all the celebrations and the pitch invasion and he wears a chest cam during the game.
Reynolds is part of a bid on a US hockey team the Ottawa Senators as well. The Senators are still deciding, but I'd say the Wrexham stuff has definitely added to the appeal of having him be part of the ownership.
Ollie Palmer launched a clothing line. If they can continue to maintain that global hype than I think more players would opt for Wrexham over a slightly better club for their own brands, and they can always nab older more experienced players at the end of their careers, someone like Aaron Ramsey should be a player who they keep tabs on when he's done at the top level he could be a huge asset against league 2 and league 1 opposition.
Do you think Deadpool wears a wrexham jersey in Deadpool 3?!? He did the announcement and had his gin in the announcement. He is good at promoting his brands.
@Office Blokes React The thing that really turns me off of EU Football isn't even the sport. It's the salary cap, they need one so there is some parity.. You're telling me the teams owned by giant Oil producing Middle East companies are the best? Well no shit. Everyone should have the same amount of money on every team and let the actual team play win the games
Exactly Chris. NFL and NHL worth watching. I don't watch MLB anymore because it is broken --no cap. My team, Pittsburgh, will never win it all again unless they institute a cap. I believe that I read that the revenue from the Yankees TV contract alone is more than 3x that total revenue Pittsburgh has from all sources. What a joke--and Yankee fans actually think they are winning something on an even scale when they do well. All of those titles should have asterisks and at the bottom of the page beside the asterisk it should read something like: Yankees had more money by far to buy their championships each year than any other team." They have two NFL teams in NYC and Pittsburgh still has more SB titles than the two NYC teams combined. Now THOSE are real titles.
Both systems work well and have their own benefits. The premier league isn’t the competition those large teams are after, they are competing every season to try and qualify for and win the Champions League. Not having the salary cap allows players at the top to earn higher salaries and creates super teams so the viewer can see the pinnacle of what the sport has to offer. The NFL does a great job because of the salary cap and it creates extremely competitive games amongst all teams, but it doesn’t punish teams for losing by kicking them out of the league, so it allows for innovation and experimentation to try and find the latest and greatest strategies for success in the league. The worst option is the way the MLB does it where they have no salary cap, so you end up with and handful of super teams, but then no relegation of the worst teams who refuse to spend any money (Oakland), so they never have to bother to try and improve.
As an analogy, though flawed, is Green Bay Packers of the NFL. Small town but their fan base reaches state-wide, BUT it is also a brand which stretches across their state lines into the rest of the U.S. and even internationally. Green Bay has a head start as they date back to the beginning of the NFL and they’ve had many championships, so that’s their “hook” along with great players that continually are a part of their franchise. Population of Wisconsin - 5 million. Population of Wales - 3 Mil.
Ryan and Rob have already reached out to Gareth Bale about joining Wrexham. Probably a joke and no way it happens...BUT...Bale is in the same camp as Foster with the social media pages and things. They could work a similar contract if he was interested.
Reynolds is rich beyond the dreams of avarice.... And he still hasn't got near the money needed to compete on the level of EPL clubs. Chelsea dropped what? £325 million just in the last transfer window? Never mind current player, managerial, and staff wages, taxes, stadium upkeep, and a thousand other crazy expenses. His best bet is to keep plugging away in the hope that the club's value will grow, along with sponsorship, and potentially other well heeled investors. If he and Rob get them to the point of being a reasonably competitive championship club, it will be a huge coup - a truly impressive feat of which they and the people of Wrexham can be justifiably proud.
Here's a conundrum for you. Many many people can't stand soccer. Not because of the sport itself but the type of people involved - in the higher divisions. Prima donnas getting too much money, owners that use the club as a place to show off once the super yacht has lost it's appeal. Lets not even get in to the dramatics of falling down when your ear has been flicked and taking your shirt off on the pitch if you happen to do what you're overpaid to do - score a goal. Will Wrexham lose it's appeal once it goes up the leagues and attracts tossers? Just because a player has more skills doesn't mean they will be good for the team. Many many new fans from around the world (me included) did not like European football, but we liked the old fashioned, down to earth football Wrexham/Notts and the rest in this division showed us. Don't lose that Wrexham, having 6 Ryan Reynolds won't help becoming just like the rest. (well maybe a bit)
Good video but 5 facts about Wrexham not in the video are 1. The racecourse is the oldest stadium in the world 2. Wrexham is the 3rd oldest professional football club in the world 3. Wrexham used to be a town but was made into a city by the queen last year 4. Ben foster played for Wrexham before he went to man utd 18 years ago 5. The welsh government/Wrexham council refused to pay anything towards the new kop extension. So Rob and Ryan are funding it in other ways Up the town 🎉
They council have agreed to fund it. Which will include a hotel, some improvements to the local railway station and transport infrastructure. I think they now see the vision and had no option but to support it.
Wrexham is all the news here in the states, people are wanting to purchase their merchandise but they can't make it fast enough, when Wrexham and manchester united play in san diego in july there will be alot of fans from the states there rooting for Wrexham, Ryan just buying a house in Wrexam he's not going anywhere.
Foster gives them good exposure, but he doesn't get 22M views on anything he does. :P He has 1.4M subscribers on TH-cam, and his latest Instagram post got like 40k likes in the first 12 hours. Decent numbers still, but let's be real here. =)
Missing the point guys! Ryan sold 3 companies for $Billion + the £350 he has, Robs money, and Salford/Altrincham/Anyone cant rake in hundreds of Millions through TV money and blue chip sponsorship deals, + future Blue Chip investors+ Hollywood investors n Global Recognition/Star power. 15,000 fans every game when new stand built, and 24,000 shirts sold in National League? Everything about Wrexham which will only rise as they progress! The Salford UTD 5 haven't actually put anywhere near the money Rob n Ryan have already put in, and the UTD 5 barely go to games! Beckham has no real Salford involvement, more focused on Inter Miami!! Wrexham will be knocking on Prem League in 5-7 years.....Luton, Blackpool, Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Brentford.....Blackpool! Need I say more!! 24,000 shirts, and 15M social media followers across all platforms by end of nxt season! How many shirts did Salford sell, and how many social media followers do they have! 🤔
Behind reynolds is DISNEY !!!! Expect huge money not by sponsorship ( where they have rules ) but from the merchandise of movies and shows and oh boy that money would be crazy !!!!
I disagree with the opinion on the Love Island guy. They want footballers who happen to have a social media presence, not social media influencers who can have a kick about at an okay standard. Paul Mullin, their star striker, is easily League One standard. This Love Island guy is nowhere near the same level. If the Love Island guy elevated the standard like Ben Foster has, then great. If not, it won't happen.
In a later stage, also bigger clubs will come to take your best players. And most of the times you can't buy back the same quality. This even goes for the biggest clubs. It does look nicer to work your way up, as a club and city, than to buy the license of a league team. I don't support any other club anymore, than our local club. I used to like early 90s Chelsea, Leeds, Newcastle. Few foreigners, but excellent ones like Zola or Asprillia. But I am afraid from now more and more clubs will lose their culture, to follow the City' s of today. City was kind of a cult club, now it's just a copy of the Real's and PSG's. This will bring down the Premier League, it's take huge risks or stay behind. Look at Italy.
Yea I get what you mean but I think it goes without saying for any club that competes globally they are going to attract support from around the world, Man United is no different, they were huge in Asia especially when they had Park Ji Sung and played their preseasons in Asia. I think strong cultures are reserved for smaller clubs these days, Barcelona has the Cules but they alone wouldn't fill a 99K seater Camp Nou. Borussia Dortmund keep their Ultras in the Yellow wall section of the stadium and the rest are fans that have traveled far and wide.
My husband lost his mind on the other day when they won and got promoted. We’re way over here in California, and he’s become an ardent fan of Wrexham. So I’m thinking they have fans all over the place now. Oh, just fyi, Ryan is an Irish name, not Welsh. It’s also my son’s name. Just throwing that in for no reason.

Wrexham brought ben foster in because their starting keeper went down to season ending injury with like 3 weeks left in the season. He was superior to wrexhams reserve options. The social media is a pleasant bonus but they brought him in because Paul Mullin as great as he is, can't play goalie lol
The team has incredible chemistry they go up to championship league quickly. Big money will come from sponsors
Please watch Ben Foster’s video of the pitch invasion with body cam! It’s so good! 🏴 🏆
Manchester United FC v Wrexham FC at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, CA for Jul 25, 2023 big game for Wrexham
You guys should watch castle built over 53 years ago by one man. The name of the castle is Bishops castle in Colorado.
If you add up all the years (9) and hours (?)Jalen has devoted to football since high school to get to the Super Bowl last year, he will probably be earning about 50 cent per hour for that time that the Eagles will now benefit from in terms of revenue.
What was the club that Eddie Howe took from League 2 all the way up to the Premier League? I have forgotten which club that was.
So a couple of Hollywood actors bought a soccer club and the team is improving but people are worried that if they get bored and sell the team, the team will decline? Very interesting.
welcome to Wrexham is a great show
Ryan Reynolds also owns a Marketing Company.
15500 will be the capacity after the new kop is built
Finally some football talk.
This wasn’t a reaction video, it was a podcast with a few clips.
Isn't Ottawa in Canada?
@@bendover7841 Yes. Yes, it is. Excuse me, I need to go find an off-grid bolt hole that isn't in the Canadian wilderness.
Wrexham was named a city this year by king Charles
Ollie Palmer launched a clothing line. If they can continue to maintain that global hype than I think more players would opt for Wrexham over a slightly better club for their own brands, and they can always nab older more experienced players at the end of their careers, someone like Aaron Ramsey should be a player who they keep tabs on when he's done at the top level he could be a huge asset against league 2 and league 1 opposition.
Lol the intro
Reynolds has Irish and Scottish ancestory
Wrexham is NOT the oldest football club in the world, the oldest football club in the world is Sheffield FC.
Population of Wales - 3 Mil.
always love the videos, but that background hiss/squeal is a little rough. you might want to check those cables or put a filter on the final render
Wrexham could get 20 million for the front jersey because of the exposure
Ryan Reynolds just sold one of his companies for 1.25 billion this year money isn't an issue for Ryan
1.35 BILLION for Mint mobile according to Google
Good video but 5 facts about Wrexham not in the video are
1. The racecourse is the oldest stadium in the world
2. Wrexham is the 3rd oldest professional football club in the world
3. Wrexham used to be a town but was made into a city by the queen last year
4. Ben foster played for Wrexham before he went to man utd 18 years ago
5. The welsh government/Wrexham council refused to pay anything towards the new kop extension. So Rob and Ryan are funding it in other ways
Up the town 🎉
They council have agreed to fund it. Which will include a hotel, some improvements to the local railway station and transport infrastructure. I think they now see the vision and had no option but to support it.
Wrexham is all the news here in the states, people are wanting to purchase their merchandise but they can't make it fast enough, when Wrexham and manchester united play in san diego in july there will be alot of fans from the states there rooting for Wrexham, Ryan just buying a house in Wrexam he's not going anywhere.
Foster gives them good exposure, but he doesn't get 22M views on anything he does. :P
He has 1.4M subscribers on TH-cam, and his latest Instagram post got like 40k likes in the first 12 hours.
Decent numbers still, but let's be real here. =)
This is the most I've seen you guys talk about a subject. Can really tell you guys are passionate about "football." Good to see and keep it up guys.
Ted Lasso vibes
Ben Foster doesn't get 20 million views. The most was 4 million if I remember.
Premier League promotion? Against Man City? Curious. Viva la Norway! 🇳🇴
Wrexham is now a city.
I lasted 2 and half minutes, you know absolutely nothing about football or wrexham.
They’re gonna pull a Leicester
Behind reynolds is DISNEY !!!! Expect huge money not by sponsorship ( where they have rules ) but from the merchandise of movies and shows and oh boy that money would be crazy !!!!
great video, big in the USA, Aaron Rogers is officially a NY jet...
This may become a new fad... Is Will Ferrell or Paul Rudd eyeing a team to buy??
Nah them a do a Donald Trump let somebody else fund the progress Great content 😂😂😂😎👊🏽
Sunderland is back in Championship
I disagree with the opinion on the Love Island guy. They want footballers who happen to have a social media presence, not social media influencers who can have a kick about at an okay standard. Paul Mullin, their star striker, is easily League One standard. This Love Island guy is nowhere near the same level. If the Love Island guy elevated the standard like Ben Foster has, then great. If not, it won't happen.
Come on guys, don’t forget about Newport county!!!!
Oh yeah! Sorry! Was there last season too in cup 😂
10:34 FX channel here in USA
Big gaps in these guys knowledge laid bare here. Wrexham 1st and 2nd. 2nd team indeed!
Me I think the reason the us got involved is for American football. And there soccer league no proof but came on it's sports.
I’m a Wrexham Fan. Only one club for me. No Premiership main club for me, so don’t agree with you there.
Love sports videos because you can see hoe bored Dave gets.
It’s a city
guy on the right thinks hes mr knowitall
