- When I mentioned doing a feed trial with our American Bresse to find the FCR (Feed Conversion Rate), Chase jumped on board and sent a box of chicks to have his in on this too!
I heard through the grapevine that we have a similar growth rate.
We're using a custom American Bresse feed, formulated by Jeff Mattocks at Fertrell and made by Kraut Creek in Greenville, Ohio.

Good job! The bird I sent you pictures of with dark legs came from Chase . Both batches I got from him were alert full of energy and ready to go! Very healthy birds . Chase has all his chicks in a row that’s for sure!! 😂🤣
Hm, well... When it comes to a row, I prefer ducks. But these chicks from Chase will do. 😆
I’m about to set several Bresse and Ayam Cemani eggs. I also have a good flock of Seramas. We have a good group of baby chicks (hybrids) to do 😮eggs for next winter and beyond.

I put them stickers on my DIY incubator.
Do those wing bands stay in as the chicks grow? Are have to be replaced with bigger ones?
They claim they will stay in even in the plucker 😂

I bought some tags! I can’t get my self to do toe punch. Not sure if wing is better. But they didn’t seem to bother the chicks 🐥 🐣
I like the Idea of the numbered tags.
I think I'm pretty much gonna do one on one breeding and it would help me with tracking.
I can still get enough meat chickens for us and work on more details I want to see by one on one breeding/hatching few eggs at a time.
You never know this old senile boy may come out with the perfect Breese one day with all the beautiful traits before anyone else gets there. 😂😂
One thing for sure, I can always eat what comes out wrong. 😉
@@papawsplace my money is on you for sure! The taste is in the bresse! I’m gonna be the logo or slogan guy for you when you make it big! The French should be worried between you and chase they are gonna want the American bresse! Prudue should be careful also!!! ❤️it!
