      The devs have said they don't want the game speed increase bc there's a chance that the game will miscalculate and leak enemies through your defense

      are there mods that make it less bright - because my eyes hurt when playing this game, especialyl in a dark room and i dont want to change my monitor setting because of my many (usually dark games) is to bright

    Hey man, longtime listener first-time caller here. I like the way you think about efficiency, it touches my process engineering soul.
    From an efficiency standpoint, what you want to do in a setup like that is to have a lot of lookouts with different priorities so that most everything gets marked. Then have every obelisk on Marked first and Most whatever on second so they split fire along the line. Since the lookout gives massive multipliers to everything and 360RPM critting is such a massive force, optimally you hit everything with exactly one obelisk. Obelisk switching targets is the slowest thing anyway.
    If you were to use AOE units like sawblades the effect should be even more pronounced. Every blade gains the bonus of every lookout. Whoo!

    With priority settings towards the late game, I've found it important to have a few slowest+near death towers around your kill zone to ensure the spawning guys aren't living past your kill zone, and far into your cleanup (progress target) zones.

    Just program the priorities you want in the lookouts and set the oblisk to marked slowest progress so all towers are firing where the lookouts say, otherwise they target a boss, tank or farthest unit

      I'd hardly if ever target "slowest." That could be a massively slowed but otherwise harmless unit. I'd use most (health/armor/shield) instead, to target something that has to be cracked ASAP, or fastest. If the fast unit is fragile, it'll die soon.
      About marked, yes that should always be the top setting, with the bottom two progress /most /fastest. It's a bummer that you can't set a lookout to the "inverse" of marked, to target something in range of a tower that deals damage.

    obbies appear to have target switching time proportional to the angle they have to 'turn' from their old target to new, so having them away from the arc and/or down a straight line [dartling top path from btd6] appears to be the best option.

    Great video! Hindsight is 20/20 but an Obelisk just behind your tower so it covered the lane to the South East but also as a last line of defense would have been good. The only reason I tried this run was because of your video. Thanks!

    About the lack of bathroom breaks, I think it's called "editing." If you just leave the game while no wave is running, it's static and you can cut the break out easily. In many games with idle action (say, Factorio), you could scroll to a place where nothing happens (say, map or oil pipeline), pause, and resume later, and edit the pause out with no visible traces. And if you want a solution for a stream (no pun intended), you can buy those via internet easily. Much safer than just an empty bottle.

      He was, but some other streamers may or may not keep a local copy, so some of them could both stream live on a dedicated streaming server and put an edited copy on YT later.
      BTW, portable urinals are common in many professional fields, esp. those where you can't leave your station even for a few minutes. I won't recommend any brands (no personal experience), but there should be some reliable solutions in the low (US$, EUR) double figures.

      There are free video editing software, hell people have made cool shit in windows movie maker. In fact, you can even just clip out emptier sections where nothing happens if you feel like it, even if it jumps most people will be able to catch up, and you just clip between parts where you actually do relevant stuff.

    I think towers should have synergy with other towers. Take this for example: If you place a ballista next to a flamer thrower tower It will add extra fire damage Dot, Or you could place a shock tower with a frozen tower for those towers to get a chance to stun a mob.

    Banks give 1psec plus increase rtotal by 20. Then you had the 1% total upgrade making it 1.2 but more and more added will scale up.

    According to the developer, the order of priority settings makes no difference, and having more than one of the same thing is treated the same as just one (as in, "progress / progress / most health" and "progress / most health / most health" are exactly the same). And the values for each different priority type get multiplied (for "most") or divided, with a minimum value of 1 (for "least"), with the resulting value simply being compared to the values for other possible targets in range.
    (I assume there's some constant value for "Marked" that competes reasonably well with other choices.)

    A row of lookouts and flame/spray turrets work too. ~3 turrets will match an obelisk hit per second, positioned lookouts will spread priority. If use both tower types much cheaper tower costs. Will benefit from research efficiency though, only research cards you want. You can even use ice towers as they combo with aformentioned and lookouts work well with them all. Lookouts job is to focus down and is the same as obelisks, but you can get AoE 'for free' as well as conditional without cards.
    I was happy to get one of the first vampire lair + ballista multi defence achievement. First 0.0% achievement.

    Did you know you can place mana siphons and mines 1 level higher and they just point down and still count. Also why does no one use the mines? they unlock 3g per mob and sometimes the extra health on tower can save runs.
    Edit: this has now been patched out but getting mines for the 3g is a nice boost and the extra health is cheap and saves so many runs.

    the obelisks MUST be set on "marked" priority to get the buff from the lookout tower. Also one obelisk must be in range of only 1 lookout tower, but 2+ obelisk must can be in range of lookout obiusly they will both target the "type of priority " set on the lookout tower.

    Cool run!
    When looking at the stats in the end, IMHO the cost of the lookout towers should be considered. 38554 DMG ÷ (36940 g + 69747 g) = 361.37 DMG/g.
    Got my first win today with a similar setup, including a few ballistas but without lookouts. 1st try ended at lvl 40 because of mana (the lack of it). On the second attempt it worked nicely!

    You really need a heavy focus on poison damage on pretty much all of your builds, along with "enemies are slowed when poisoned." Getting slow on enemies is a must-have.

    Just did this with only obelisks, no lookouts, and it was really easy. I'm not sure the lookouts are needed. I had 200mps at the end and was building obelisk as fast as I could afford it and nothing got anywhere near to getting through. everything melted immediately. having some targetting just slowest is great, it melts portals so you clear them up without spawning too much.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm quite sure that if you put first target to progress, the secondary target will never proc. For example, with most shield as 1st, the secondary will proc, if there is nothing to aim with a shield. However, with progress, there is always something that has most progress to aim at, if the tower can reach it.
    So when you had 1st progress, 2nd marked, your obelisks and lookout towers were not syncing like you wanted them to sync

    For some reason there's a pause when an obelisk changes target because its previous target died, but there's no pause when it changes target on its own. Strange.

    I don't think it was efficient in the end, when you spent 5000 gold on new tower that deals 200 damage, when you could upgrade lower level existing ones for ~200 gold per upgrade to deal ~50 more damage.
    For example, 1:33:49, this tower has been standing there for a long time, but still level 6, upgrading it's armor damage for 174 would bring it's armor damage from 14x33 to 15x34, that's +48 damage.
    I guess you can't just compare the damage like that, because new tower gets better with time and upgrade is just one time boost, but I feel like you should upgrade everything to around level 15 before buying new stuff at that point, and also upgrade the new stuff right away, because it won't have enough time before the final boss to upgrade.

    Marked should def be priority near lookout towers and then set the priorities you want on your lookouts. You don’t want to miss out on that damage my man! =]

    Seems more cost effective on universities to have each university be only 1 of the things.
    10,10,10 is lower chance of upgrade than 0,0,30

    Obolus kill things faster if they have a lot of health and the only target that one person because you'll go full health does your Health and they'll go to the next one but if he keeps on switching it's slower that's why if it's on progression is better

    Correct me if I'm wrong but couldn't you make the Obelisks actually finish the job before moving onto the next target by going for example Least Shield>Most Shield>Progress, then it should target any enemy with a shield first, and completely remove it before moving on, right?

      Hmmm... maybe? Would be interesting to try. Its pretty hard to figure out exactly how targeting will work exactly because it's a weighted priority system I don't quite understand and having enemies with very different stats can cause weird behaviors (especially when oogie is in range)

    They wrote in the game tips while loading that the order of the filters doesn't matters. then why you're making such a big stuff from putting marked on 2nd instead of 1st targetting rule ? wouldn't targeting rule marked be overwritten by 2 progress rules ?

      Most Health seems to get the planes to reliably target Oogie. Add in Most Shield/Armor as well if you want to be sure

    I don't understand why you don't just have all Obelisk set to Marked and then vary Most/Least Health, Amour, Shield on Lookout priority as they progress down path. The range difference really doesn't matter then.

      Sure, marked targets take more damage reducing the firing duration/mana drain required to destroy said target

    Hey! Great video and i hope to help you, did ya know that it's best to specialize your universities, like, you have 3 universities that each one have 3 area's of studies, so, it's more cost-effective to only upgrade in one area in each, one in health, other on armour and the last on shield, you get a better bonus overall with the same amount of gold spend if you studie all three on each one

      @@ACRPlaysGames yes and no when you get up in cost in practice (dependant on how manny you actualy have), mathematicly, it is the same, but in practice, focusing is technicly more consistent after you get to the 400-600 upgrade cost). i wish all universities where all addative, with over 100% just being chance for extra after garanteed. as in 144% total chance hp = 1 garanteed, and 44% chance for another +1. It would make the universities more consistant (or my rng is just trash, as i have so manny runs where i have 12 universities, lvld to 500 cost, and still go so manny rounds without getting a single bonus

    Spreading the percentage on universities does not sound good mathmatically. Specially when you could get a lot more if one of each set of three could just have a 15% or even a 20% if you specialize each.

      It's the same expected value with a higher variance. It's a summation of independent binomial distributions which is a binomial distribution. Maybe I'll make a video about this

    All of the time you spent on fretting about watchtower placement was pointless. Just set the obelisk to marked as the first priority and whatever you want for the second as a fallback.

    I think you are a bit confused as to how the targeting works.
    Your top option is the thing you target first, then if there is a draw there, it goes to the next option, and then the next.
    So putting marked in your bottom slot, or putting anything after progress, is pointless.
    You also are wrong about how the lookouts work. They don't add their stats to the stats of the other towers, they are an independent hit for every hit on a marked target.
    So if your attacking tower has a damage of N1 and a multiplier of M1, and your lookout has a damage of N2 and a multiplier of M2, then your damage total will be (N1*M1)+(N2*M2), not (N1+N2)*(M1+M2).
    If they worked the way you thought, they would be simply too nutty.

      Both of those comments are wrong. You can go read FAQ in discord for game.
      From FAQ: "So when attacking a marked target their damage will be: (tower base damage + lookout base damage) x (tower health damage + lookout health damage)"
      Also from FAQ: "How do target priorities work/are they important?
      Target priorities are very important. Many towers will perform very differently depending on which enemies they target. What enemy a tower targets also effects how it gains xp.
      Priorities are all combined when deciding a target. "
      If you just play the game the targeting is obvious.
      Not sure why you feel so confident to comment completely wrong stuff as facts.

      @@ACRPlaysGames IF that is how Watch Towers work, then why on earth would you spread them out?
      They would scale quadratically, with 4 towers dealing 16 times as much damage as 1.
      And if it does work the way you say, then logically they would all get the same experience for it. Which is also stupid broken, since again, quadradic scaling.
      Put down 4 of them down, one on progress and 3 on marked, and suddenly every shot on the marked target is a 1 shot 1 kill.

    Probably would have watches the whole video if you pronounced obelisk correctly. It physically caused me pain every time you said oh-balisk instead of ah-balisk.
