@@danbrioli5710 Triple is a real bastard, honestly! I did finally manage to beat it with a Ballistas/Poison Sprayers run, I may have had a few Lookouts in there as well but I can't remember. Got very lucky with universities, honestly. Creeping Cough is incredibly good for keeping enemies in the sprayer killzone.
easiest way to beat triple defense is going back in time and use teslas.

Ya if he tried speed running I think it would take 45 minutes or less.
NL, a radar kills Oogie in literally like 4 passes. They pretty much kill every tier of Oogie, actually.
If someone just explained to him that Radar towers are boss killers and shredders are room clearers, he would understand how to use those towers a lot better

@@blahthebiste7924 Literally just used both of those in combination with balistas to win a level not a minute ago. 10 shredders + a row of balistas with slow and I was set for the small fry as long as I upgraded those shredders occasionally but I'm like "damned, this won't kill the boss."
So I placed down 10 radars with 0 upgrades around lv40. Boss was dead before he got to the kill corridor.
I'm planning to just pick up radar always now honestly. You can go all aoe and such without worrying. Lost a fire+poison spreader game because it just barely didn't kill the boss and that ain't happening again.
@@Londronable Yeah you need the right passives to get a boss kill with flamethrowers and poison spreaders

Pish. Tower variety was never the problem. Tower types and overreliance on bad ones were.
Tesla Coil, Particle Cannon and Encampment are really, really bad. Obelisk is meh - too expensive to maintain.
If he had added Mortars, Shredders, Frost Keeps and Lookouts to this run, he would've won just as easily.

@@marcelly715 Pies is being pedantic but you're actually wrong here. Fewer can only refer to discrete numbers, less is for amorphous amounts. You can have 'less' water, but you can't have 'fewer' water. Look it up!
All the best tower upgrades are locked behind the +1 and +2 damage. After that appears the good upgrades like +2 ballista range, freezing ballista bolts, poison frost keeps, extra frost keep range, etc.
All the best upgrades end a tree, increasing consistency. Most of the good upgrades don't add 2 or more upgrades to the pool.
There are pretty powerful upgrades further in, usually that power is there to compensate for the cost involved in getting there. (But if you've already payed those costs, then not reaping the benefits might not be the best choice.)
The maple leaf is to help during distribution. Your customs and border services require a certain disclaimer/disclosure to be printed on the packaging. The maple leaf lets the warehouse crew easily determine if they're grabbing canada friendly packs.

If you were fighting aliens to death which music would be fiting to play? 1) doom 2) feel like a monster 3) courtesy call 4) your best guess.
NL im just trying to inform you the maple leaf is for the company that makes the packaging. I work in a factory that makes plastic bottles for spices and snacks. We make the exact same bottle for US and Canada but we have to differentiate which ones going where for exporting reasons
Must admit, certainly makes me feel good about my ~20% non-fail rate in triple defense......
My preferred setup is lookouts (a lookout at the back of my tower gets a lot of mileage out the starting ballistas), flametowers early, combining/transitioning to poison sprayers (creeping cough a must), and obelisks (on most health/near death, to pop the spawners, and at the backend to clean up.....Mana always a problem). Radar for the bosses (also good for popping the log house spawners early on)

you should buy the tower health upgrades in the upgrade menu, because thats what determines
how many houses spawn next to your tower at the start of a run
NL Finally learned how to actually put things in between the very beginning and very end of mobs
went through a serious phase last year where i’d no joke eat like one or two bunches of shine muskats almost every day and it was so damn expensive i can’t believe i did that

In sweden we call wednesday little saturday, and having an afterwork is quite common. Of course, most take care to not get wasted as there is work in the morning, but a beer or two? Sure.

My house burned my senior year of high school. I got up in the middle of the night to take a pee and the bathroom light didn't work. I just thought the bulb blew and went back to bed. Neighbor comes banging on my door not five minutes later. The upper floor was already almost gone. None of the alarms went off because the fire knocked the power out. Change the batteries. We didn't.

34:00 it could be that the smoke detector is old they lose their effectiveness after 10 years on average so I would just replace it unless replacing the batter stopped the beeping

58:21 I made the graph for you, and assuming that you haven't manually upgraded any of your universities, which isn't the case in this game, getting 1 upgrade is not 10% chance but more like 19.6% chance and getting 2-6 upgrades is not 75% chance but more like about 72% chance. You didn't nail it on the probability of getting 1 upgrade but you kinda nailed it on getting 2-6 upgrades.

Started 3 weeks ago - already beaten 45 lvl. It was near 15th try.
Hearing the smoke detector story I feel so damn seen 🤣 - I've been there and it drove me absolutely bonkers trying to find and fix it
Clearly whoever made those prank devices that make high-pitched sounds just had a smoke detector with a low battery and went "eureka!"
So buds, am I wrong in thinking encampment is actually good? I've never played before but seems like a good move to have like one or two near the main tower
The first time I won single lane I was using a pair of encampments around a bend near the tower, upgraded evenly (the 3 damage types being equal) to catch survivors and speedsters.
When the waves are long, each encampment has like 10+ mines by the time the hoards push through everything else. Each mine doing 1k damage a pop.

NL talking about his smoke detector letting him know the battery is low, im out here with mine pulled out of the wall battery removed because it WENT OFF at 4am like there was a fire then realized, oh wait no no theres no smoke just kidding haha go back to bed, then again it went off at 6am and thats when it lost its right to have electricity.

I swear NL doesn't even look at the upgrades in front of him. Has massive crit chance but doesn't even acknowledge that he can get 10% bonus damage on crits on burning enemies.

He never beat the two or three lane mode of rogue tower. He is 1/3 of the way to complete the game. I hope he sees this and I hope it burrows into his mind.

Watch a few of these and really liked the look of it so bought it yesterday, then beat it twice. You can do this NL.
"Hardest game of 2022" nah man, Plague Inc. every year, even came out in VR in 2019
NL fundamentally misunderstands the concept of tower defense games which is why he struggled so much with this game. He said that the bottom choke was 2x because it had 2 paths and the one above it was 3x. The bottom choke is 7x and each choke above that is less. Defenses on that choke will hit everything so as long as status effects are applied early all dmg should be concentrated on a path where every single enemy will walk. 17:50
