The most important thing for floor to be called 'pet-friendly' is that it has to be not slippery! If your dog or cat slips and falls, or gets painfull joint problems along the way from not having good grip on the floor constantly, then a floor with no scratches is worth nothing and is definitely not 'pet-friendly'.
