Ripper Owens is like Rob Halford 2.0 It's a shame there's so much hate towards the Ripper, because he definitely is brilliant. I'm glad I got to see him with Iced Earth. Anyway, awesome song by a band I really like, with Halford and with Owens on vocals.
Rob Halford is one of the most sepctacular human beings I've ever seen in my life. BUT That fact won't keep me from respecting this man. Amazing performance. Congratulations.
When I heard Ripper sing desert plains I had a whole new level of respect for the guy. I glad that KK got him to sing in his band along with Les Binks.
Ripper proved something about us music fans. He showed that the you can be far superior of a an original singer, TWICE! And the fans still want to see the original vocalist to come back because of nostalgia!
The legend of all of us. - From a shitless slave region of humanism being suffered under hoon-tribe-originated-parasitism and kiki'she' collectivism which is known as the name 'Korea', whose dwellers always steals and begs from Japan's original history which clearly inherited sincere humanity in Ancient Cudara more than its 'original' dwellers in hometown.
Mad respect for Owens, the man is a beast on vocals!!! He is no Halford though... Having seen Priest performing live with both singers, it's impossible not to draw a comparison. Once Rob Halford steps onstage he becomes 9ft tall. He is magnetic, he is in absolute control and his presence is magical. The Freddie Mercury of metal.
Seen JP with Halford around maybe 12 years ago, they were already in their 60s I think and they were amazing, Rob was all over the stage, it was like he was in his 20s. Seen Tim with Iced Earth, he was terrific, dude has raw power and energy, shame he kinda ended up being "that guy who replaced Rob and Matt". In my opinion, one of the most underrated metal singers. He's no Rob, and he's no Matt Barlow, but he's very versatile and he can do both high notes and growls.
@@J.J.Jameson_of_Daily_Bugle Mr. Jameson, i adore Matt as a singer and i have modeled my own amateur singing after him but let me tell you that Tim is more talented than him and definitely on par with Rob.
Johnny V Lalrinfela Frankly he sounds like a club gig with a number of crowd for arena.
BD Guzman Priest has chosen Owens to play classic songs live but Maiden has chosen Bayley to try something different with a new type of vocal. Blaze album with Maiden are way better than Priest with Ripper but Live Owens was much better thans Blaze for playing classics.
Tim 'Ripper' Owens is undoubtedly amazing...very few vocalists can sing with this much control and at these ranges... but Rob Halford in the 90s was fucking INTENSE in Painkiller and would have sung with the same intensity and superbness live too. To me, Rob Halford is THE vocalist of Judas Priest.
And his voice has held up over the years too. I saw Priest in 2019 and Rob struggles with some of the songs. Still a badass though. Is love to see them take both singers out for a tour
GOOD recording sounds great RIPPER WAS KILLING IT !! don't get me wrong ROB WAS KILLING IT! back in the day his voice is gone today! but give him credit he's been screaming! FOR YEAR'S!!!
Let's be honest, Tim had some shoes to fill. And he did so effortlessly and graciously. The problem is that he was forever destined to be compared with Rob and this is quite a predicament.
I always thought nobody could replace Rob Halford, but Tim Owens has gotten as close as anyone can to matching Halford's range. He is a perfect singer for KK's Priest. Owens helps KK continue the Judas Priest feel on KK's Priest for sure! One thing that is weird about this video is what is that weird note at 2:22 and 2:27? I never heard that on Touch of Evil before LOL
Hara adasd This is not a sex bitch.
I don't care what anyone says, Priest's double live CD Live Meltdown, Owens belts out some of the finest live Judas Priest I've ever fucking heard! There is only one Rob Halford and there is only one Tim Owens! Ripper's "Diamonds and Rust" is legendary!
Am I the only who noticed how HEAVIER Priest got while under Ripper?? You hear the tuning it's much lower which gives the music a deeper, heavier ,darker sound. I figure it's to compensate for Ripper who's vocals are slighter lower than Halford's during the lower vocal parts. But in a way I kinda liked the heavy Priest lol
Being much older, I think he experimented singing with almost a brady bunch kind of voice, which I didn't like. Now that he's back, and back to the old style again, I think he's still got it.
To each their own. My opinion, Halford had some moments when his heart just wasn't in it. The big trial and coming out as a gay dude took it's toll on him and his ability to perform as great as he had. I saw them twice in the early 80's when I think his voice was at it's best. I think he hold's one of the greatest voices in any kind of music.
Okay, but I have seen Halford performing live in the early 90' and I must say that Owens sounds live equally good or even better than him. Halford is a god and there is no doubt about it, but this guy is unbelievable! But since he is clearly trying to sound like Halford, you can see Rob's merit into have an effect on the formation of great singers. This is to be a master.
Tim sounds more powerful now than Halford ever did. Just the nature of his voice, not to diss Halford or anything. But Rob is indeed 15 years too old to sing Judas, he shouldn't have returned. Jugulator and Demolition were a great new direction for Priest with new heavier songs and still lots of power and energy in the old ones. Rob was a freak of nature in his prime. Make way for the young :)
I love Halford, but it seems when Ripper entered the band, Priest got a whole new sound. Now they sound so much meaner, and have an extra hard edge to their music. I wanna see Halford and Ripper sing on the same stage together.
@ak47dragunov Halford is superior in low register too, not just in high. And he has full-blooded, more powerful voice. Why do you thing he got his nickname? Not everyone can be a metal God. He earned it, because he's one of the best vocals in heavy metal. It's like you're comparing Blaze Bayley with Bruce Dickinson. And, even he's like 60 years old, he sings with more power than Ripper.
The reason is not because those albums weren't good, it's because fanboys couldn't let go of Halford. And as you can hear on both live albums, Owens is doing amazing job on the old songs and he totally owns the new ones. Halford was amazing in the early 90s, but he should have retired. He can't sing anymore, just doesn't have the voice. And Judas' last two albums are a joke (musically and vocally).
This is the ultimate version of this song. Better than the original, better than any time Robs ever performed it. It’s just true
No. its not
Rob is a god, but this version is better
Ripper Owens is like Rob Halford 2.0
It's a shame there's so much hate towards the Ripper, because he definitely is brilliant. I'm glad I got to see him with Iced Earth.
Anyway, awesome song by a band I really like, with Halford and with Owens on vocals.
I like this live version mainly because of the heavy demolition style sound of every song in this show.
You have to be a huge n00b with a stick up your arse to hate Owens.
Rob Halford is one of the most sepctacular human beings I've ever seen in my life.
BUT
That fact won't keep me from respecting this man. Amazing performance. Congratulations.
Him doing desert plains live switched my favorite Judas priest song to that
Best TofE version, eva.
I fully agree, but isn’t that Ripper Owen in the video?
C'est bien possible
.que ça ne soit pas RH...
When I heard Ripper sing desert plains I had a whole new level of respect for the guy. I glad that KK got him to sing in his band along with Les Binks.
Oh shit is it ripper on vocals kk priest didn't know that I'll have to check the CD out then 👍
I’ve got so much respect for Tim. His vocals are beyond amazing. Often he stayed in key and his pitch wasn’t all over the radar
You have to give Owens credit, he was willing to go out and put on a hell of a show, despite knowing it was his last night.
Was this really his last show?
How did he know
Ripper is an amazing singer and a really cool nice guy as well
Ripper proved something about us music fans. He showed that the you can be far superior of a an original singer, TWICE! And the fans still want to see the original vocalist to come back because of nostalgia!
Bloody hell, before watching the video, I could swear Halford was singing that song, and all the others. He is good!
Que voz tan brutal lpm! Heavy metal DEFINITION
Hands down, the best version !
Best metal live performance of all times.
Scott Travis my idol my legend King of drummers 💪 👍 👌 ✌ 👏 👏
The legend of all of us.

Yes, and my lovely drummer!
Mad respect for Owens, the man is a beast on vocals!!! He is no Halford though... Having seen Priest performing live with both singers, it's impossible not to draw a comparison. Ripper é um dos melhores vocalistas do Metal
That "TOUCH" in the end of the song... It's so epic :) Ripper rocks. Hell, Judas Priest Rocks!!!
my fav song from judas priest..and the vocalist is badass 🤘🇬🇧
Johnny V Lalrinfela

Bruce Dickinson - Blaze Bayley ERROR
Halford - Ripper Owens - What a great decision
.
That's right boy, that's right
BD Guzman
Eso pasa, porque los fans de maiden son mas intolerantes y cerrados xdd :p
I actually prefer Iron Maiden albums with Blaze more. Maybe Steve Harris wrote them to match his style but I find them more melodically and complex.
BD Guzman Priest has chosen Owens to play classic songs live but Maiden has chosen Bayley to try something different with a new type of vocal. Blaze album with Maiden are way better than Priest with Ripper but Live Owens was much better thans Blaze for playing classics.
How can you not LOVE THE RIPPER !!They made a movie about him says plenty !!
what is the name of it?
That riff... It just goes straight in the bone.
Ripper saved them !!!
Eso es verdad....saludos respetuoso desde Puerto Rico.
One of the best performances ever.
Such amazing tuned voice.
Oh my Fucking God I have nothing else to say!
Just cant stop to hear and hail.
Ripper was hitting it... ripper is awesome
la mejor banda metalera junto con Maiden realmente dioces
God DAMN!! Ripper knocked it outta the fucking park with that!! Great shit!!
Not saying that I ever dislike Halford. He's awesome too.
Обожаю концертники с Риппером ! Они ничем не хуже , чем с Халфордом !
Ripper has an awesome voice
I really love the ripper version🤘💙
Sorte nossa esse registo ao vivo do Rippper!
Ripper is metalic voice...7 X Yes..............................
ripper more full poweeeeeeer....
Waooo temazo
Muito bom esse show
Ripper is fantastic, sure he's not Rob but he does the songs justice and with respect.
Jez, this Owens... what a singer!!! Wonderful choice to substitute the master Halford. He sounds even better than Halford live.
Amazing guy!!!!!!!
Renata Nunes I agree, he usually did better than Halford live
And his voice has held up over the years too. I saw Priest in 2019 and Rob struggles with some of the songs. Still a badass though. Is love to see them take both singers out for a tour
Oie renata
He has a thiker voice but not half the charisma halford had
exellent song and exellent performance judas priest the best band
Not too shabby
GOOD recording sounds great RIPPER WAS KILLING IT !! don't get me wrong ROB WAS KILLING IT! back in the day his voice is gone today! but give him credit he's been screaming! FOR YEAR'S!!!
Doesn't get much better!
I watched "Dreamer deceiver" in live version first time they played on TV and Halford's voice is increadible , not a human voice!
The Ripper i forgot him 1 jahr! welcome back. awesome
nice job with the vocals, the acrobatic things rob did with priest are legendary.
I cant agree more.
Mr. Tim "REAPER" Owens Criminally Underrated
⚡🔥🎤⚡🔥🎤⚡🔥🎤⚡🔥🎤⚡🔥🎤⚡🔥🎤
Scott Travis has the power of that band!
A great song. Greater vocals!
for the first time in metal history, a substitute is better than the original singer........
what an incredible voice.
What Alan Atkins? Halfords not even the original singer 😂
I miss Ripper :/ I saw Priest on this tour when i was 9. Got to see them 3 times :) Fucking LOVE Ripper :)
Right on man! Hell yeah
Let's be honest, Tim had some shoes to fill. And he did so effortlessly and graciously. The problem is that he was forever destined to be compared with Rob and this is quite a predicament.
@erkjan Yeap Ripper has got even more skills!
EXELENTE LA VOZ!! MUY BUEN TEMA
good old"s metal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
un señor de la guitarra 🎸 Green Tipton
judas priest possessing me!

4:52 awesome high tone
agreed, ripper did a good job "filling in" but like Rob said, "no straight man can do what I do in Judas Priest."
Ripper Owens does a perfect job.
EARGASM

Yeah Ripper ;)
This drum snare is tight as fuck! :-D
This is awesome..who cares if it wasn't rob
suddenly: Judas Priest are a fukin cool rock band...love it big time -

Better than the original !!!
No, man, Angel of Retribution is from 2005. In 2003 Tim still was priest's lead singer.
To each their own. My opinion, Halford had some moments when his heart just wasn't in it. Halford, you are the GOD of screaming!
yes he is... this song was made for halford though, he does it very well
That's a matter of opinion. I like the Ripper

HALFORD IS THE LAW
ecstasy controlls me...
You're possessing me - fine!
Who knew cRAP would take over the music world. My prediction, next will be oompa pah bands.
It's a bit weird, the fact that with Tim they played this song live a step lower and currently with Halford they play it half a step lower :P
This was Rob Halford's band.
He made a mistake when he left. I am thankful her returned. This was 5 years ago.
Halford rocks!
rob is metal god, ripper is just a good singer
okay, when it comes to priests singers, i like them both the same, the difference, rob is just special.
Halford is the show . Ripper is the final voice.
Halford and Ripper should do a song together.
i can sing anything ripper ever did, lets see him sing stained class
No, it's Tim Owens, he replaced Halford from the 90's to 2004, maybe 2005.
I love Halford, but it seems when Ripper entered the band, Priest got a whole new sound. Now they sound so much meaner, and have an extra hard edge to their music. I wanna see Halford and Ripper sing on the same stage together.
their timbres are different rob's voice is so unique, but they're both great singers.

Ripper Owens deserves more respect. Truth is, without him, Priest would have just died after Halford left.
God. "Raper" Owens is no Rob Halford. Check out Priest doing this song with Halford on the 2004 Reunited tour. It is spellbinding.
I do to, I mean hes no Halford. but he does a good job.
In the night come to me
you know I want your touch of evil
The reason is not because those albums weren't good, it's because fanboys couldn't let go of Halford. Wow, it seems that this song is so hard to mimic the studio version. It really miss the synth
Ripper não é Halford, porém, é muito foda.
MINUTO 4.40 EPIC
