Ripper Owens increible vocalista...inmenso.
Tim is now in the band "KK's Priest" which also includes former JP drummer Les Binks (drummed on the albums Stained Class and Hell Bent For Leather) and of course founding JP member KK Downing. This seems like a great lineup that will cover the gamut that of songs that JP is not performing live and perhaps have not performed in many years.
Not a big fan of Tim Owens, but that should be interesting.

This dude is killing it, I'm a metal head since 1983, seen Rush, AC/DC, Maiden, Priest, Queensryche, Dio, Oz basically every hair metal, thrash, punk band that performed here in LA, first concert was 1983 Rush grace under pressure I was 13, last concert was November 2019 last year saw Slayer hang it up. With that said, this guy has the best metal voice of all. Take it from this 50 year old guy , this dude is a freaking metal stud

If I had gone through what he did, being in a tribute band, realizing the dream of fronting for his idols and then getting the boot I probably just would have taken the cash and retired. Glad to see he's still tearing it up. While I will always love the original Priest I was just as big a fan during the Ripper years as ever.
I believe it was like a dream to be part of Judas Priest.

Ripper had the unfortunate task of replacing Rob (which he did amazingly well), instead of carving out his own niche in the metal world on his own. Due to this, he ended up being underrated and underappreciated for his vocals on their own merit. If he wasn't in the spot of being forever compared to Rob, he would have been considered one of the best metal vocalists out there by people who panned him for 'not being Rob Halford".
Then he had the task of replacing Matt Barlow, who had become the voice of Iced Earth. Again, he did a respectable job, but no one could compare to Matt. Unfortunately, when Matt returned, he had the misfortune of singing on Something Wicked 2: The Crucible of Man, which was easily the band's worst effort.
He is now better than Rob. Watched this song live by Rob. His voice is gone since 12 years at least. Still an icon though.
Some folk are just never happy.
Maiden went in the opposite direction and replaced Bruce with Blaze and people hated him for sounding different.
Misfits had a come back with Michale Graves and people hated him even though he's a better singer than Danzig. Same with Dio in Sabbath.
People just don't like change. 🤘🏽
If he hadn't been lucky enough to replace Rob in Priest no one would know who he is. He's just a pretty good metal cover band singer - there are hundreds if not thousands like him in bar bands all across the country and the world.
He definitely has the vocals, his band sounds great also.

Way back when Judas Priest live in London came out I bought it and thought Rob was singing…..I didn’t figure out until about 2 years later when I saw the DVD of the show, that it was Ripper 😂🥴🙃. He has those Rob screams and high notes mastered perfectly
Have all judas priest albums and all i can say is that jugulator with Tim owens is an amazing album with awsome riffs and different great sound.
The drumming on it is incredible and overlooked too.

So I can kind of hear how he sounds like Halford but at the same time I hear more of Dio than Halford... am I the only one that feels this way?? None the less I love his voice it's amazing but I still hear more Dio.

There's no Brummie in Ripper 🙂 That state-side voice gives it the Dio edge. All three are great..... although I think Dio has the top spot.
I agree. It’s the tempo of his vibrato that really emulates Dio’s style. He’s very gifted.

I got to see him live when he was with Priest, and it was great and sad at the same time, because I was able to walk right up next to the stage. On the the other hand it was loud as fuck, and he sounded amazing.

Tim Owens is a rocker from the Kenmore area of Akron, OH who was in cover bands and was noticed when Judas Priest wanted to get back into touring. To bad I didn't record him commenting on my singing at karaoke at his bar.
