This is one of those rare songs where I think the original and the cover are equally great. "Memories Can't Wait" Talking Heads/Living Colour are another example.
@@whom382 It sounds better than FM's version because of the heavier instrumentation and the more modern recording technique. It lacks the eerie and haunting qualities the original has. It was only after diligent research that I learned of Peter Green, and the founding of his band, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. I originally thought this song was some sort of metal-hyper-love-ballad. In fact, it showcases the ever-presence of greed - the mythical god , green, who gives and takes - that can overtake an artist. Peter Green admonished Mick Fleetwood and his bandmates to consider living a more 'artist-in-poverty' lifestyle. This - along with Peter's known drug use - would lead to irreconcilable differences, and, thus, Peter's removal from the lineup. I think Richie plays live with loads of Randy Rhoads inspired style flourishes in between things. It is a total treat to behold. He's pretty amazing. Am I right or am I wrong?
I can see the parallels.
Richie is an absolute beast on guitar..........if you've never seen the stuff he did on EMG TV then definitely look it up it will blow your mind.
Nobody can sing like this guy!!!!!
Ya have to take your hat off for these guys. All these years later and still blowing the roof off of buildings. One of the best bands out there.
Witnessed the Priest in 82 Vegence after I bought British Steel. I was 16.
10 Priest Tours America Germany and The Metal Lands of England!

TOTALLY AWESOME FANTASTIC PERFORMANCE...THE PRIEST ARE IN TOP FORM LIVE HERE..THOSE SCREAMS, UNHEARD OF FOR HIS AGE,..
INCREDIBLE VOICE, THE GUITARIST PERFORMANCE JUST LIKE THE STUDIO, THE SOUND IS AMAZING TONE, PRIEST THE BEST LIVE BAND EVER ON THIS PLANET!!!... IMO....
Unleashed in the East on 8-track. I am so old.
K.K. & Glen were great; bringing Richie Faulkner was even a better fit music goes to an even higher level of sound. Amazing guitar work!!
My first concert when I was a teen was Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Whitesnake. What a combo, best show ever! 👊😎👍
Weak concert. Whitesnake oh boy.
Whitesnake is bomb❤ Dont turn away before the night is over
one of the best live versions i’ve ever heard
Best drummer in rock...anywhere...can play anything....any time
One of the greatest things I’ve ever seen!
The first real heavy metal band
When Tull won this, I literally screamed at the TV. The grammies literally had no clue what they were doing.
Ahhh, the song that got me into Priest back in the early 80's and started me on my journey as a metal head.
Scott grew up in Norfolk VA. My brother and I would see him play at Onstage, the only hard rock club around. AND he and other local bangers used to jam in Dave's garage AROUND THE BLOCK FROM MY HOUSE!. He always loved the Priest. Perfect fit.
Big Rob is such a fkn sweetheart.
Priest RULE !!!!!
Congratulations to the Metal Gods!!! Way, way, way overdue for the Rock Hall but way way way more than deserved. Much love and respect from San Diego, CA❤️🤘🤘
I am 67 and still listening. Priest is a one of a kind band
Seen Judas more then any band . Excellent live band. First time in Kansas city 79 ,opened for Kiss. I was hooked . Kiss was awesome too.
Judas Priest is the definition of Heavy Metal
Yes❤❤❤❤❤
Best Band Ever, 3 words thats it ....... Seen them 2 times and I cant thank the god of heavy metal enought for those opportunities, hopefully I can see them again !! cheers to every Judas Priest FANS !! love y'all
One of the tightest, best sounding live bands ever. Supreme musicianship all around.
Definitely! And their live sound is unmatched, IMHO. 😊
So good to see Tipton out there. God bless him
RIP Peter Green.....I'm sure he would be rocking in heaven to Priest's version of his classic
I listened to PG's live version on YT circa 1970 and boy it's lightyears different (very bluesy and progressive) !
This band has been in my playlist for 20 years it seems.. can we keep it together for another ten
Richie had some huge shoes to fill, and did it well.
Rob always comes across as such a nice bloke whenever ive heard him speak, no arrogance just quiet respectfulness
When is was 16 in the 1970s my School Head Master stopped me from going into my maths exam because I was wearing a US army combat jacket with a huge Judas Priest patch on the back. He told me I could either take the jacket off or miss the exam: Priest won.
Judas Priest will always win at everything! You can count on it.
Fuck ya 🤠
Too funny...told my fiancee to shut up when I watching JP.. we're divorced..lol.
“Unleashed in the East “ Changed my life musically when I listened to it in 1980..... I know some others stepped in but the original lineup will never be equaled ( obviously ) It is a slap in the face of every heavy metal fan that these guys aren’t in the (So-called).Hall of Fame. I will forever boycott that POS Hall of Lame until The Rolling Stone magazine and its owner divests their ownership of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or change the name to “The MUSIC Hall. Until then it’s all an ego trip by the ownership, and real fans won’t go to the farcical “Fan vote “ ( just click bait for them to raise their advertising rates) that does not even count toward who gets in. Boycott Now!!!!!
Hilarious
Metal gods! Literally 😊
What a difference this drummer makes to the group.
yes a good bassplayer and drummer make a giant difference
From the bottom of my heart!,i have too say you are the best group in the WORLD!Love you from my heart!

Judas .,Judas .,Judas the Best in Heavy Metal they're My Idols
I was 12 years old and went to the local fair and saw Aldo Nova and Blue Oyster Cult. I don't think to this day i have ever seen it pull a crowd like it did for this show. Aldo Nova was good and killed it with this song. This was my first concert and the crowd was definitely there to see BOC. People were going nuts waiting for them to come on.bBOC had the giant Godzilla that raised up from behind the stage and blew fire and smoke.
One of my favourite Priest tracks!. When you listen to something for the first time and it just makes an impression on you!. Love the vocals...
I have been listening to Judas Priest for the majority of my life. Y'alls music kicks @ss. 😊
Completely awesome song.
