    Disney has generally been ahead of the game with just about everything. The first 911 emergency telephone service in Florida was operated by Disney for Reedy Creek Emergency Services. Disney has its own telephone company, which operated the 911 system. The Disney-owned Vista-Florida Telephone Company was the world's first all-electronic telephone system, which featured a call back feature which would have the system call back a busy number as soon as it was free.
    For the monorail, they built in every conceivable safety and emergency feature to ensure passenger safety and emergency escape in every conceivable situation. They know what they're doing and have a hella better safety record than any government agency.

    • @maxwellrpeterson
      @maxwellrpeterson ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Actually no bombardier was the one maintaining it on a contract and before this bombardier told disney there were major safety concerns with the monorail and that they should consider upgrading and replacing them. They have no emergency walkway they have no central hub and there safety systems are so outdated that it not funny. Heck they had a door fall off at one point. So obviously the state needs to do these and I would even let the state do it every year. The point of the FDOT is to protect the public and I believe they will have good standards for the monorail as its sister is the one in Jacksonville that they over see Jacksonville is just more advanced and has had no major incidents.

If monorail Pink driver wasn't a rookie he should have seen the beamway on the right side of the train, going thru switchbeams 8 & 9 in a reverse MAPO. He would have then known his procedure was correct. Monorail purple driver Austin , would have known pink was backing up and would have stopped at one of the last holdpoints on Epcot beam. No politician or governor knows or has the first incling of idea how a railroad is operated and sadly most rules are written in blood. Mistakes and violations are often found after an event because no one sees a problem til it becomes one. The fact Disney has operated for so long without government oversight is amazing and the death and injury rate is so low, is a testament to a company that not only recognizes problems when they present and fixes them immediately, but also to the fact, they dont wait for the government to tell them to fix a problem, they just go ahead and do it, without question. Justs saying for all of desantis bluster about smaller government he certainly is anxious to creat more government when it suits him.

Idiot Disney CEO Bob Chapek really screwed up, I have no idea why the Disney Board did not fire him on the spot when Florida started to make noise about taking Reedy Creek away. This will only hurt the people that spend a lot of money to vacation at Disney. Any increased operating expenses, because of this, will just be passed on to Disney guests. What they really can't figure out is how Disney operates the the countries 3 largest transportation system by the number of people they move a year, outside of NY and Chicago, so efficiently with a 99.9% up time. Disney has been operating pretty much flawlessly since they opened in 1971, but here comes the government to run it better.
