Ive made this 3 times now (regular pot, no crockpot). I also add in lots of kale so i can get some greens when i eat this for every single meal after i make it lol, it tastes really good together. I also like to cook the butternut squash til its all completely mashed, that may be weird lol. Anyways, thanks so much for this recipe!!
Greetings, Sir Manny! You've a new follower. Vegetarian since August 2017. Stumbled up on Dr Sebi one day and the rest is history. Became creative via my recipes through Dr. Sebi's list of fruits, vegetables and nutritional alkaline tutelage. . . On today 5/20/23!!! Stumbled upon Mr. Manny! Oh Manny! Ooooh Manny! 😉 I've watched recipe after recipe after recipe. (Observed and learned from other Sebi followers prior). When I saw the Chickpea Curry recipe presentation, knew I was being blessed! I so love Chickpea Curry soup. (Would buy from nearby Indian restaurant.) Questioned what "exact" potential ingredients were being used! I know this (Your's) was the ticket to nutritional Chickpea Curry soup!!! Excited to try and make my own!!!👍🏽 Mr. Manny you are amazing!! Blessing to so many viewers! God has you on this earth with purpose! Genesis 1:11-12, Psalms 104:14, acknowledges, God will give us fruits and vegetables to sustain us on this Earth! God bless you!🙏🏽🙏🏽 Looking forward to watching more of your videos! Victoria, W.Va.
Thank you so much Victoria! I truly appreciate your kind words and I'm glad you stumbled upon this channel on 5/20/2023. I'll keep the videos coming and I hope you enjoy every one of them. Thank you!
I made your walnut mince and I didn’t say anything, everyone was saying wow what’s this as they new it wasn’t meat as we’re all vegans, then I said walnuts, they couldn’t believe it, now we’re all hooked. Thanks very much, I have learnt so much watching your videos, thanks for sharing , it very helpful. Cheers Judy from Australia
Wow... all the way from Australia 🇦🇺 🙌🏿 That's awesome! I appreciate the feedback. I'm really happy you were able to enjoy it with your folks. Say hi to them for me. I'll definitely keep the videos coming. I have a lot planned for you all.
This recipe came out perfectly! I will perform a local search for chayote for next time since the store didn't carry it. Along with the tomatoes I added 2 chopped tomatillos & a jalapeno. And I blended the whole lime with the nutribullet mix -- what a burst of flavor! And you were right: I needed to use the entire butternut squash. Thank you for sharing your alkaline recipes with us, Grubanny. I look forward to making more of your dishes!
That's wonderful to hear! I'm glad you added other ingredients to make it come out just the way you like it. I'll keep the recipes coming. Thanks for making it and I'm happy you enjoyed it.
Just came across this channel, wow! You make it look so yummy. Where can we get chayote ? Whats annato oil ? Where do we get it ? Looks like palm oil. Definitely a new sub 😊
This is my third time trying one of your recipes and once again it was a huge success. This reminds me of an Indian cuisine which was one of my favorite foods before transitioning to the alkaline lifestyle.
Made this and it lasted for 2-3 days, also made some spelt flatbread to go along with it. First time cooking chickpeas (Apart for hummus which I love) and this tasted 10/10, I also added some Cilantro which really added to the flavours. Thank you for the recipe!
I just made this wonderful recipe. I am fasting today so I am going to let it sit overnight... But tomorrow it is on... So looking forward to it after it has marinated in it juice ovenight.....
Hello Manny, I have been subscribed for a few years now and I am so glad I found your channel! Made this last night im a pot for my meal prep and it turned out delicious! ❤ I pre-cooked my chickapea for about an hour or two since I didn't have time to soak them. ❤❤
Looks delish. I have been on the hunt for a few years now to find the yellow, black, and red chickpeas. I found brown chickpeas, so far. My mission is to share and show others. A healthier option that taste phenomenal. I wish I could show you what I made with the brown chickpeas. Keep up the awesomeness.
You definitely can show me. Follow Grubanny on Instagram and tag me on a picture of your dish. I'll love to see it. It's easy to find, but that would depend on where you live. Check the Indian stores near you.
I will look again. West Tennessee USA melting pot, but not as savvy with food items and choices. I have to purchase a lot online. I had to order my black sapote from Florida. I just tagged you, when you have time come on over and see what I do.
You got that right! This recipe was inspired by an original Indian cuisine. Since Alkaline Vegans don't eat curry, cardamom, sweet potatoes, etc. I decided to make a version for them. Indian food is delicious!
I made this and omg was it good!!!! Lasted me for 4 days andddddd my daughter loved it also! I can’t wait to make it again! Great for cold days! You are amazing! Would love to meet you some day❤
Yummy Manny! I put my foot into it. Great dish!!! I used my crock pot instead as I don't have a pressure cooker. I wish I could showcase my plating of this wonderful dish. Manny, I've got a new staple dish. It was so easy to make. 😊 #alkalineliving
Thank you I made the curry it was amazing. I would never slap my mom. So I went next-door and I slap the hell out of my neighbor it was just that good!👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿 thank you again keep up the good work. PS. I’m still waiting on the cook book.
That's wonderful to hear. I'm glad you actually made and enjoyed it. Thanks for letting me know. 🤣😂 Imagine if you gave the recipe to all of your neighbors 😲... total pandemonium 🤣 I'm still working on the cookbook and a few other things for you all. Keep your eyes peeled. Disclaimer: I get the joke, but I have to say this so I don't get a strike from the bosses up top... Please don't slap your people.
I love everything about your videos! Definitely helping with my alkaline journey. I made this recently but was a bit too spicy for me. I will opt out of cayenne in all recipes and adjust to taste as I’m not into spicy foods. Still flavorful besides that. Hopefully we can get some southern recipes as I miss those country flavors 🤞🏾
Thank you Vanessa! Yeah, Cayenne is always optional. I love spicy food lol. What a coincidence! I just finished shooting a really interesting Southern recipe. I'm sure you'll love it. Now, I need to edit it. It may be uploaded in a few weeks, but it's coming for sure.
Manny! Manny! Manny! This was everything! This is delicious! Thank you for sharing your gift and love for cooking and showing me the many different ways I can get to a finished meal, not to mention with a vegetable I never knew how to use until now (chayote) 😂 I didn’t hv the parsley to mk it look pretty, but it tastes amazing and it’s packing some heat! Thank you!!
Hey Kimberly! You're welcome. I'm happy to hear you made and enjoyed it. The recipe is highly customizable. You can add vegan or alkaline vegan cheese before throwing it in the oven. It comes out great. Thanks for watching
I'm so thankful for your page!!! I just might finally gain weight the healthy alkaline way :-) can you tell me how many quarts your pressure cooker holds? I need to get me one it's been a long time coming
Just made this it came out amazing thank you so much I also made the banana blueberry muffins 😅cool time to long for my old oven but it still came out good

Thank you Avril. Such a wonderful name by the way! Stay strong 💪🏿it's not easy being the only one. Yes, you can definitely freeze leftovers for a while.
@@Grubanny Thanks for the compliment on the name. It was hard at first being the only one who is vegan in my household because I come from a long line of great cooks. However, I am winning them over one meal at a time. Your page has helped immensely with that. Also thanks for the response. Will be making this today! P.S. would go great with an alakaline roti, either dhal puri or buss up shot!! The latter is my favorite.
After cooking the base as shown in the video, add and cook your squash and chayote until almost soft. Add your canned chickpeas, mix and cook (covered) for about 10 mins. Medium high heat will do the trick. Let it sit for another 10 mins (covered) with the stove off. You want the chickpeas to soak in some of your base. After that, you can blend some of everything and serve. Enjoy.
Use pre-cooked chickpeas. Check out my stovetop method for cooking chickpeas here: th-cam.com/video/4GETC4Uve5U/w-d-xo.html Return to this video, follow my steps for making the sauce (curry), add the squashes to the sauce. Add some water (about half of what I called for in this recipe) let the squashes cook, covered, for about 15 to 20 mins or until done. Add your cooked chickpeas and cook on medium heat for another 5 mins. Bring it down to a simmer and let it simmer for about 10 to 20mins. All you're doing is reheating the chickpeas and giving them some time to absorb the broth. I hope this helps
@@Grubanny Thank you so much for breaking this down for the stovetop cooking method. What temperature will I cook the squashes? Also, will I include the step of putting some of the curry & broth in a blender to thicken the sauce for the stovetop method as well?
