I understand that one. I remember calling up my friend after school to tell him the bad news and he just lost it. It was definitely one of the worst moments in metal history.
I didn't start listening until the vulgar album because of my age. But I've been a die hard Pantera fan since I heard the first 15 seconds of WALK. Dime was literally the reason I learned how to play guitar, so I could play Pantera songs. And 30 years later I still have trouble with most of Dimebag's leads. God he was so good. I really do miss that guy. It's a dam shame he was stolen from us by some idiot that thought Dime was stealing lyrics from him. As if Dime would ever have to steal anything from anyone. He was that good.
The roughest part about headbanging is the whiplash. There were times when I couldn't lift my head the next day. I never had the pleasure of meeting Dimebag, but I talked to Vinnie a few times when I lived in Ft. Worth. Very cool guy.
The next day? As I get older it gets worse.. Last concert I was fine next day.. But day 2, 3 + 4 my knees were so stiff could barely walk and my neck was just stuffed.
Yeah Dimebag had the Bar inFt Worth but wouldbnt help Damage Inc or David Johnston the true inspiration for thier fame what a pos as well as Dime bag for their part in never acknowledging David FUK THEm Both. PEROID Vinnie didnt even come to Davids Funeral/ Wake to pay his rescpects for Damage's HArd earned afforts to make them famous. This is one of my favorite musical experiences-Domination Live! My favorite part is Dimebag’s “fuck” at the very end as he witnesses that crowd. Remember, these guys came from small word-of-mouth shows and they helped develop that sludge sound. To see Dime say that “fuck” and that salute tells me he FELT that! Chills!!!!
Born 1974. God I miss Pantera. You should check out their home videos. They treated their fans like family. RIP Dimebag and Vinnie. Love from Knoxville TN

to the question about the headache: phil anselmo, the singer of pantera, messed his back up from performing like this, he didn't want to quit touring to get surgery so started taking heroin to ease the pain. similar thing happened to tom araya from Slayer, his neck hat to be put in a brace, due to the damage from excessive headbanging.
Yeah man, they got this intense energy that I haven't seen from many other bands. I'm hurt that I never got to see them live. I'd also like to say that I'm really enjoying the reactions so far. I'm glad I found you guys.
This concert was one of the biggest of all time some estimates say 1.6 million people. This happened when the Iron Curtain of the Soviet Union opened up for the first time and this was the first concert of American bands that had been allowed in the country. So this was a very significant event for music in the history of the world. Not to mention that this is like the heaviest breakdown in all of metal and one of the greatest guitarist to every live. Such an iconic performance!!!!
Y'all ever cover Primal Concrete Sledge by Pantera! EPIC performance from the same concert! Also 'effin HOSTILE!!! I got to see Pantera twice as a kid before the Dimebag tragedy (RIP)! One o my absolute favorites!

The reason the drum kit looks like bricks is , Vinnie's nickname was "Vinnie Paul the brick wall" Cause Darrell was "Dimebag Darrell" Saw them on that tour and they killed it. Also got to meet Dimebag.....😎
Dime is the best but one thing that never gets mentioned is how dope Rex is! His tone is awesome and he plays all those riffs on the bass. Bad guys wear black and they coming for you!
I saw these guys 6 years later and never in a million years thought it would be my only time seeing them. I figured a band like that would be around going strong to this day. Didn't think that ride would ever end.

Legendary performance. Legendary band. Legendary Dime. Legendary Vinnie. Legendary reaction. THANK YOU. I love this band more than any band that will ever exist. PANTERA!!!
I first heard them when I was 13yr old. I'm 42yrs old now, married, 3kids. I still have all my Pantera posters, and banners up on my walls..lol There is no member of the band you could take out and replace with a different person. Vinnie Paul (drums) Dimebag Daryll (guitar) Rex Brown (bass) Phil Anselmo (vocals/front man). When you said, good music comes from inside, not just your mouth..so true! Phil's voice is a gut growl. Of course I had a teenage crush on Phil..lol Pantera is the greatest metal band in history. RIP Dimebag & Vinnie. Even typing this comment chokes me up. Thanks so much for this guys!
YEA! Massive pantara fan, The live version is just so amazing with the crowd and his solo. This concert was from Matallics tour of Russa. 1.6 Million in attendance, 2nd largest concert ever after Rod Stewarts of 3.3Million.
Hands down one of the best guitarists that ever lived in respect to the creativity and innovation. He was able to convey his emotion and soul through his guitar playing and just one of the few people that was able to tell a story with his guitar and never had to say a word. He has to have some of the most iconic guitar riffs of all time. Had the privilege of seeing them live almost 20 times through the 90s and feel extremely privileged and honored to have been able to meet all of them. Dimebag was an amazingly down to earth and extremely nice guy. He loved what he did and he loved his fans and was most definitely stolen from us way to soon. We were robbed of a truly amazing artist. RIP and much love to Dime and Vinnie and the whole Abbott family. They're together again and jamming out there in the cosmos somewhere.
There's no denying Dimebag's guitar solos. He's a legend. Began playing guitar at age 12 and at 14 years of age he entered his first guitar playing contest and won against many seasoned players. His talent is way beyond any measures. They are from where I am from and I've partied with them on many occasions back in the early 90s. Dime and Vinnie were the most down to earth souls I've ever met. I feel bad to those who never had the opportunity to see them live. Some of the best times in my life revolved around Pantera. Thank you for your video! 🤘 Keep rockin'
I saw Pantera 5 + times!! I cry every time I hear that breakdown it’s so heavy. I saw Pantera with Sepultura on acid in Sunrise FL in 94 ish. Sick every time!!
I think this would have to be my favorite reaction video, these guys made absolutely great observations. Im just so glad folks from other genres like hip-hop can recognize such talent in these songs
Get into GOJIRA! That's so extreme and good you'll love! "Flying Whales", "The Heaviest Matter of the Universe", "Stranted", "Global Warming" Also DREAM THEATER, some really elaborated progressive metal! "The Glass Prison", "This Dying Soul", "Honor Thy Father", "As I Am"
You guys should react to the song medicine man by pantera so you can see how much phil anselmo's (the vocalist) voice has changed since their first big album (keep in mind that the album the song is off of was only like a year before this preformance)
Yeah. From the first time I saw them I think for Sabbath's Reunion Tour in 98 ... Up through i think the Reinventing the Steel Tour in 2005 maybe ... Phil got progressively worse not just his voice, he was too fucked up to perform sometimes.
Just waiting for the breakdown at the end of the guitar solo, and when it hit, as expected, both of you just had to bang your heads with long, hard strokes. Greatest breakdown EVER!
Man Pantera ripped me a new butthole when I was thrown in the fire. Gates opened up and I was sold. Btw, every time, Queens of the Stone Age, Regular John, Avon, or Mexicola from the first album! Churrrr boys loved the Jambi video!
Pantera is the embodiment of Groove Metal. Pantera is Groove Metal of the highest order. Pantera stormed the world when they came out with Cowboys From Hell. A groundbreaking and earth-shattering record that made Metal music respected worldwide. I was in my teens when I first discovered Pantera. And always will be a fan of Pantera. We in Asia love Pantera. Sadness filled our hearts when Dime died and then later on Vinnie too. Pantera is the cream of the crop..perhaps the best Groove Metal band ever in the world. Rest in Peace Dime and Vinnie. Pantera will never be forgotten. Hail Pantera! 😎🤘🤘🤘❤
4:31 played a bunch of live shows in a metal band. The head banging won’t cause a headache, but if you have one it makes life hell if you’re trying to keep that same energy. Remember one show I played with a migraine and just trying to get through the last song thinking “Okay, you got a chorus, bridge, final verse, one more chorus and an outro to get through. Keep playing, keep playing just keep playing.”
These guys are incredible live🤘💯... Met these dudes in the 90s,cool guys. Believe it or not, they use to be a Glam band... RIP Dime and Vinnie. Huge loss.
Cowboys From Hell was also their nickname. They would go by CFH to do small club dates in Texas before big tours to tighten up their sets. Saw them twice in Austin, while stationed at Ft. Hood, at a small club. White Zombie and Fear Factory were opening acts.
Pantera...another parents to the aggro metal from the 90s. You should react to Korn and Deftones... both use rap beats to their hardcore riffs broders. Thanks for the reaction. Helps dis days. Greetings from Chile 🇨🇱
There has never been a person who was having more fun doing what he did, then Dimebag Darrell. He's one of the best human beings God put on the earth and he poured himself into everything he did and wanted those around him to enjoy themselves as much as he enjoyed himself.
My god...I remember when some was murdered! Its all fucked up!! Same day when john Lennon from the Beatles died! Crazy fucken insane fan!! So not fair!!
The great VINNIE Paul used wooden beaters and glued silver dollars to the fronts of them to get that solid thump on the bass drums. Just as innovative on the drums as his brother Dime was on the guitar. The drums on Far Beyond Driven are absolutely insane. Thanks for the review dudes.
Hey man, first time I watched your channel. RIP dimebag! He definitely was something special. Great video guys, will be watching more of your content 🤘😝
I know what I'm referring to is not a music video but the video of Vinnie Paul receiving a signed guitar from Paul McCartney is absolutely amazing. He was thrilled

The chemistry in the drums and guitar is because they are brothers lol

Exactly they have been playing together all their life

Damn i miss them! R.i.p. daryl and vinnie
Pantera are my favourite band. When Dimebag died I cried my eyes out for ages. He was one of a kind
HELL YES!!! AND VINNY!! I FUCKEN LOVE \PANTERA/!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😈😈
me and my son drove to Arlington to pay our Respects to Vinnie and Dime. Their memorial is pretty cool
I understand that one. I remember calling up my friend after school to tell him the bad news and he just lost it. It was definitely one of the worst moments in metal history.
I was unfortunately not a fan of them until around 2006/07 when my music tastes evolved to metal, I cried like a baby when Vinnie Paul died
Dude, I still cry every time I watch a Dime video. This is my fav. I keep coming back for more and more and more.. Niagara Falls....
As an OG Pantera fan since 1985, it makes me happy that people are still finding out about them.
Rest.In.Power. Dime & Vinnie
Legacy band in my book. Brought metal back whilst Slayer was making noise...

Rarely spoken of is how Rex totally drove that staccato beat along with Vinnie. That's metal AF right there.

this song in this concert never gets old, the has to be one of the best live performances of all time.
PANTERA!!!! \DALLAS,TEXAS U.S.A PROUD/!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌠🌠..TRUE LEGENDS!! WOW DIME & VINNY!!! BEST EVER!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😈
Saw these guys in 96 for the first time. Best live band
My god...I remember when some was murdered! Its all fucked up!! Same day when john Lennon from the Beatles died! Crazy fucken insane fan!! So not fair!!
Oh btw dime was quoted live saying that show was the highlight of his life that was a crowd of around 1m! In Russia
Everytime you hear Dimebag playing you can feel how hell is calling you to go
The great VINNIE Paul used wooden beaters and glued silver dollars to the fronts of them to get that solid thump on the bass drums.
Dime bag was one with the guitar and was the soul of Pantera!!!!! RIP Brother you will never be forgotten 🤘🤘🤘
I know what I'm referring to is not a music video but the video of Vinnie Paul receiving a signed guitar from Paul McCartney is absolutely amazing. He was thrilled
I can't watch this without replaying that breakdown at least a half dozen times.
My favorite band. Love seeing this reaction.
