So, he's about 22 here. The singer is a competition between well known and established Chinese singers. Dimash was invited by the organisers to compete, they had heard him singing. He, Dimash is the only foreigner ever to be invited. He came 2nd because the winner had to be Chinese.
This was 1st time Dimash came away from home speaking no Chinese or English. He had a week to learn each song, this is the end or third song he ever sang in English.
The audience all musical professionals were the judges deciding who went thru to next round each week.
He plays 7 instruments may be more by now, songs in 13languages and speaks 4.

His head is moving from the tremendous vibration ....not any conscious technique. The power required to produce what he does vocally is well beyond most singers. He says it comes up through him like a hurricane. He gets on his knees to brace himself physically as well as emotionally. His vocal control, power and endurance imo are unmatched.

Dimash is the best singer in the WORLD and there are no doubts about that, his voice is a prodigy of nature and a genetic marvel since his parents are two glories of singing from Kazakhstan since he was 5 years old, he sings publicly and has more than twenty years of lyrical training and graduated from the university of music, he is a singer, composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist, he plays more than seven musical instruments and sings in more than Ten(10) languages, he is also a great performer and a great artist who lives and feels music He is not an imitator of voices , Dimash has his own style and is one of the forerunners of the "POPera" he also has a very pleasant, HUMBLE and simple personality, easy access, which makes it very easy to follow, he always travels with His family and friends is a very educated person and an example to follow, he has become known for his musical talent not for getting into trouble or scandals, It has a very wide vocal range of approximately 7 octaves ,he is a singer with a wide vocal range very versatile is Baritone, TENOR , Soprano, counter TENOR, mezasoprano, everything at the same time is how to have 5 singers in one, it has a male and female voice, also many resources such as vibrato, "melismas", falsetto, Staccato, whistle tone, reaching a( D8 )live "Outside of Piano"at the concert of Gakku in an unforgettable day, at his young age he continues to improve and grow musically to perfection, he has a good physical presence he measures 191 cm or 6 "3", he is very famous and recognized in Asia and now he is becoming known In Europe and America, ALL their songs are spectacular, it always goes from low to high, soft to spectacular at the end, in my almost half a century of life I never heard so much quality and it is the hope of continuity of the classical genre because all the old tenors have already Almost all of them died and Dimash can sing like them but none of them can sing like Dimash, being a Man he sings better than any Tenor and his female voice is superior to that of any average Soprano, greetings and a hug from USA 🇺🇸 "Dears" Forever ❤️ Sorry for copying and pasting my informative comment in ALL the Video reactions to Dimash what I see but I do it with the intention of sharing information about him and what I think that in the music industry there are many artists who have been successful and have no talent and are bad people and they do not set a good example for the youth, Dimash and his music deserve to triumph in America, Europe and the whole WORLD, do you want to have already read my comment please come by without problem there is always someone who for the first time knows this information and I won't get tired of sharing it with all my friends"Dear" around the world, thanks for reading and for supporting Dimash 🙏🏻S.O.S. Adagio is a term also used in ballet terminology and stands for a slow music part, where very often a male and a female dance together a dance of love. I think here adagio stands for the slow beginning of the act of love.

This was only his second time singing a song in English, first one “show must go on” and he only had a week to learn it phonetically. All he knew of English was hello my name is adagio. I think more should be said on that. I can’t imagine learning the words phonetically of a whole song like that, as well as getting the real meaning and feeling of the song these foreign words, and then on top of that, learning to do the actual singing techniques of the song. So extremely impressive Not just an awesome voice, awesome brain
There is a short clip of him back stage showing he really hurt his knees

Saw a discussion about the same head movement a few days ago..some said it's the resonance some said it habitual etc..what ever the purpose whether it's technical or habitual no one can say for sure but I think either way, to me, it adds an extra sensory experience to his performance because it visually reinforces the power behind the vibrato and note/notes. It actually enhances the perception of power I think. But either way he's 1 of a kind. Unmatched.. unsurpassed. DIMASH ❤️

The Adagio "duet" is an edited version that merges a video performance of Lara Fabian and Dimash into one in a split screen.
However, Dimash has been a fan of Lara Fabian since he was a kid and she has been one of his musical idols.
Dimash plays seven instruments: piano, drums, guitar, keyboard, dombra (the most popular Kazakh instrument, like a lute), marimba (like a xylophone), and bayan (which is like an accordion).

Adagio....at a slow tempo -used chiefly as a direction in music, but here it's a persons name. Dimash is a multi instrumentalist and a highly educated musician, up to the present he is studying for his PhD in Musicology whilst performing concerts and working internationally 💖 while singing this song the power of his voice caused his head to vibrate so much it showed as shaking, he isn't doing it conciously and its not a technique for anything. Dimash is a powerhouse of music, it just flows out of him with such huge dynamics. His breath control is unsurpassed as is his vocal control. There is only one Dimash and he is the best 💖 this was 5 years ago so you can't compare this with his latest performances.

Thank you Yuri for the reaction! Dimash sang this song in China in 2017! For me, she's the best after S O S. Yes, English, although it's not for me to judge worse than in Foreigner-2021. But in SOS, his French sounds quite decent. This is the opinion of reactionary native French speakers. But Dimash is a workaholic, and just a young man who works on his skills not only singing, but also language! He sang beautifully in Japanese to Ikanaide, and also watched the reaction of native Japanese speakers! Well, in Chinese, this song is also popular in China! He is a very hardworking and humble singer! You can talk a lot about talent and phenomenality! He is a COSMOS beyond dimensions! But his singing affects any person of any culture and nationality! BRAVO TO DIMASH! God bless him!

short but memorable phrase that contains and expresses some important piece of knowledge or experience, considered to be true by many people, or that has gained some credibility through continued use. Synonyms: proverb, saying..........the adagio tempo is slower than the andante (72 quarter notes per minute) and faster than the largo (40 quarter notes per minute), the grave, and the larghetto. By extension, an adagio is a piece of music whose tempo is slow. This is generally the name given to the second or third movement of a symphony or a concerto.

No it’s not , but it is a musical term and associated with a composer and music he left behind. I think that’s what you might be thinking of . I’m not musical and someone had gone into detail about it . It made sense after that . I’m sorry I can’t explain it better . I have no talent at all .

adagio : This Italian term, coming from the expression ad agio meaning at ease, specifies a relatively slow tempo. It corresponds approximately to a range between 56 and 76 beats per minute on the metronome graduations

👉 For non musicians: The language of music is Italian. Adagio is an Italian word and is used in music to denote tempo, meaning: 'calm', 'slow'.
The interpretation of the song by Dimash is great. He touches my heart and soul ... every time. This song belongs in Lara Fabian's repertoire, a world-famous singer and songwriter. She wrote the lyrics many years ago to this classical baroque melody that cannot be assigned to any particular artist with certainty. Today it is one of the most popular works of “classical music”. The composers Rick Allison, Dave Pickell and Lara Fabian arranged the piece into a pop song.
Lara Fabian is a great role model for Dimash. Even as a child Dimash wanted to be on stage with Igor Krutoy and Lara Fabian one day ... and the dream came true of the 65th birthday of Igor Krutoy in 2019.

All songs performed by him carry a complex and deep meaning and often turn into a Hymn.
Even such a famous composition as Adagio Dimash started from the original - he himself performed "Adagio in G minor for strings and organ based on two fragments of the theme and digital bass Tomaso Albinoni (1742), Remo Giazzotto, 1945" - the full title of this piece of musщic. And only then he sang a modern cover with obvious oriental notes, which was arranged by Erlan Bekchurin (Qazaqstan) especially for Dimash. As a result, the song performed by him has changed beyond recognition for the better. All songs became Hymn.
And you have to know 99% of Dimashs songs were arranged by Erlan Bekchurin especially for Dimash. Erlan starts to work with Dimash when Dimash was 10 y.o.

Lara Fabian has a Belgian father and Italian mother. She lives in Canada. She is a big inspiration to Dimash. She arranged Adagio years ago. She is very well known in Russia and has performed a lot with Igor Krutoy over the years.

Thank you for your reaction! You’re right Adagio is an Italian word and is used in music to denote tempo, which means 'calm', 'slow'. Dimash version is overwhelming. Adagio is part of the Lara Fabian's repertoire, a world-famous singer and songwriter. She wrote the lyrics many years ago for the classical baroque melody that cannot be assigned to any particular artist. The composers Rick Allison, Dave Pickell and Lara Fabian arranged the piece into a pop song. This performance is very moving ❤️🎤🌹🌹👏👏👏👏.

He does seem very comfortable on his knees although typically most people want to be standing tall to get maximum air and control. No it's the power that causes that movement, he does not do it for vibrato. He has so much power he even over powered electric guitar in show must go on.

Something I've always wondered with the knee drop is if it's done to prevent the dizziness that can come with belting a note at that volume and strength.
My son is the same height of 6'3" and he's a metal singer. He has said to me in the past that he gets dizzy when doing the metal scream and perhaps height and build have an effect on the blood pressure level so if he keeps his center of gravity lower then perhaps he doesn't get affected as much by any physical effects from the effort of belting a high note at that power?

I agree with you that he physically moves his head on purpose during those moments when he wants to emphasize the vibrato. I think he does it to emphasize the emotion of that moment since he expresses with his entire body (why not use his head too, right?) but also to guide himself through the mental image of the note, similar to how someone doing a run moves their head from side to side. Seems like the head movement has become part of his repertoire for expression, rather than tension or bad technique. My opinion only.

Lara is one of Dimash's idols. They met through Igor Krutoy. Dimash sings her songs "Mademoiselle Hyde", "The Love of Tired Swans", "Know" and "Adagio". (Dears correct me if I'm missing any) Igor tweaks them for Dimash's range and style. Lara also wrote “Your Love” just for Dimash.
They've only sung "Ti Amo Cosi" together, with Aida Garifullina. They need to collaborate more. 😄

After this episode aired, Lara Fabian received a call from a friend of hers telling her to watch this young Kazakh performing her song. She did and was so impressed she called him to congratulate him. Later, in Moscow, Igor Krutoy arranged for Dimash to collaborate with Lara Fabian and Aida Garifullina on a trio for his song Ti Amo Cosi, on a skating rink as the finale to Igor’s 65th birthday celebration. Of course, you simply must react to it!!!!

This is a transcription of Albinioni's "Adaggio" organ and string piece with words by Lara Fabian (who originally performed this piece). Here the word adaggio means twice: that the piece is adaggio, i.e. slowly (slower than andante, faster than largo), but also that one experiences enlightenment and faith slowly (which is emphasized by the word adaggio in the text). A beautiful piece.

❤ Excellent review, thank you! Dimash plays piano, keyboards, dombra, drums, guitars, marimba, bayan, xylophone and cello. Dimash is always curious about everything. I saw in one video, or maybe it was just a photo, I don't remember, where he was experimenting playing the Harp. So far Dimash has received 3 Masters Degrees in Music and he recently received his Doctorate in Musicology. He's like a sponge. Absorbing everything about life and creativity. Especially in Music. He is an absolute genius. Here is a list of the languages that he sings in (only because I'm not sure if you knew them). Dimash sings in 13 languages. French, Ukrainian, Italian, Turkish, Serbian, Kyrgyz, German, Spanish, Mandarin, English, Russian, Kazakh and Japanese. He is of course fluent in his native languages of Kazakh and Russian. And he is still working on English and doing very well. He is continuing to study Mandarin which he finds more difficult but is determined to do his best for his Dears. Really hope to see you again soon. Stay safe. ❤🙏❤

Yuri, I believe that this will always be on of the favorites of the Dears, no matter how long ago it was. Ti Amo Cosi is a trio of Lara Fabian, Aida Garifullina and Dimash, Igor is accompanying on the piano, of course, absolutely incredible performance, maybe you could sneak it in, not necessarily as a Dimash reaction, just a reaction, so so good. The original Adagio is a neo-baroque piece for strings and organ in G minor that has a curious history. Its authorship is assigned to the 18th-century Venetian composer Tomaso Albinoni, and it appeared to be a famous baroque composition, but it was actually composed in 1945 by the Italian musicologist Remo Giazotto.
There are so many versions of this melancholic piece, and it has been used in so many soundtracks, that few escape it. It has been sung by Camilo Sesto, Dyango, Nana Mouskouri. Il Divo, The Doors. Lara Fabian's version sung by Dimash is translated from Italian to English. Spanish singer Dyango's version is called "Adios a la tristeza" and it's another lyric.
