Dimash is the most amazing vocalist on this planet. Just watch the song with subtitles and you will understand. I call him my soul healer, because nobody touches my heart and soul and moves me the way he does. Such kind of emotion is healing. And, by the way, it's not only falsetto that he uses, it's also head voice, the same as female soprano, and mixed voice as well.

Dimash is famous around the entire world. He has over 140 fanclubs in over 100 countries around the world. The largest fanclub (approx. 8-10 million Dears) is in China where he became a mega star in 2017 when he competed on the professional singers competition The Singer tv show at the age of 22. He was invited as a wildcard and not expected to remain more than one or two episodes. To the shock of the producers, after the first episode where he sang SOS as the first competitor to perform, he had the 500 member audience of professionals in the music industry who were the judges of the competition on their feet screaming their approval of this young man. He won that episode and has not quit rising in popularity since then. His birthday concert on May 24, 2024 in Istanbul Turkey had an audience of 40,000 fans who flew in from 71 countries to celebrate his 30th birthday. He is currently continuing to take his "Stranger" concert around the world to Prague, Dusseldorf, Singapore, USA, Kazakhstan, etc. more countries to be announced. This is his third world tour since 2017 debuted his first solo concert Bastau in Astana Kazakhstan. D-Dynasty, Arnau and now Stranger.

@@nancypriddy4382 No date announcement yet. Just that the USA is part of the list of upcoming countries targeted for the Stranger tour. Right now only available ticket sales for Prague and Dusseldorf. The Dimash team are careful to make sure a certain percentage of tickets are sold before announcing each new city and date. I am going to guess the USA will likely be closer to the first quarter 2025 since Astana is in September and Singapore is likely the next announced date.

Most of the world outside of North America has heard of Dimash because most of the world is more open to the kind of talent that Dimash displays. Dimash has made a personal and business decision to have his own independent production company and not to establish a relationship with western labels which would undoubtedly restrict his creativeness and the complexity of his music. Can you imagine MTV running a 13:40 music video? Well, Dimash has one of those and it should be seen by everyone all over the planet but would never get airplay in the US music media and, by the way, is not one for you to jump into right away but only after you have established a firm idea of what Dimash is all about. He is about uniting the world through his music and about promoting tolerance, acceptance and peace among people and nations. I think he wants to make real art , to leave something of value to the next generations (but including something lighter in between although nearly all of his song have stories, deep meaning behind). He is just phenomenal
The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. Hello!! Welcome to the Dimash Era !!! The first time I heard Dimash I was shocked just like you. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. My first songs that I heard from Dimash were SOS and Sinful passion. I recommend that you start there. You will be tied up like all the "dears" of him. That's what Dimash calls his fans and we are millions around the world. Dimash was born into a home of musicians. At 5 years of age he began training him at a music school where he was diagnosed with "absolute pitch". At 6 years old he won his first piano competition. He continued his studies and graduated from the University of classical and contemporary music. He is a magister in composition and is pursuing a doctorate in musicology. He is a multi-instrumentalist (6) as well as a vocalist and composer. He has dabbled in acting, audiovisual directing, dance, advertising modeling (he is 6.3 feet tall). What is most surprising is that he is just 30 years old. He speaks Kazakh (mother tongue) Russian and English and studies Mandarin Chinese. He sings in 14 languages. Finally I will tell you that above all these characteristics, he is an extraordinary human being respectful of his parents, family and culture and the best ambassador of his country to the world !!!

Dimash doesn't have a usual register, he has a 7.2 octave range and 25 years of music education, according to his latest interview about to complete his PhD this year.
Dimash has both a classical and a jazz/pop education so does anything from full on opera to rap and you never know what to expect next.
He has performed songs in 15 different languages but luckily for us subtitles are available for all songs on his channel in up to 27 languages as he has a global fanbase. You only need to click the cc button to know exactly what he's singing about.
To show the diversity of Dimash I would strongly recommend his MV When I've Got You and also his Duet with Placido Domingo, both of these on his own channel.

I attended his concert in Budapest last month. And, lucky me, I am returning to Europe for two more shows in November: Prague and Dusseldorf. Dimash is the only person I would travel to see, anywhere, anytime. If rumors are true, he may be doing shows next year in Tokyo and Seoul, so you know where I will be!

The fact that this isn't the best SOS performance of Dimash, but still everyone's dying tells you what insane level he really is..... I mean his best is really otherworldly.... O GOD.......Dimash is a storyteller who uses his entire arsenal (technique, vocal range, body expression, style...) as a resource to involve the audience in the story he presents. When we pay attention to the lyrics, the story behind it, the feeling that it can wake up, then we understand that everything he does is not for personal exaltation, but to captivate and elevate what he is singing! When Dimash sings, it becomes the music itself!

This song is about a depressive, who feels uncomfortable in his own skin. He fluctuates between wanting to live, and wanting to die. How would it look to be above like a bird. In the end,when he is kneeling, he “cries “ out to the other world, and finally gives up and “sleeps “. I think that this song has a deep connection to places that so much of us have been to at one time or another…

He is always "into the performance", that's the difference between Dimash and many other performers.
Also, the reason you haven't heard if him is because he wouldn't give up his creative freedom to any global music conglomerates. But his latest concert on Istanbul was attended by the fans from over 80 countries, so that's should tell you something. Also he is frends with David Foster, one of the major canadian- american record producer and Walter Afanasief, but prefer to stay an independent artist. Not an easy path, but nothing truly worth doing is easy

Dimash is a 30-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers.
His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads, RnB and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert! And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 16 or 17 languages so far).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country (and he still does). And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 was in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. You can't compare him to any other singer on this planet. He has so many different music genres and styles. He loves Freddie Mercury, but also Michael Jackson, Lara Fabian, Luciano Pavarotti and Eminem and you can also hear that one or the other has an influence on some of his songs.
Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄.
He sang this song on his digital concert in January 2021 during the pandemic. He had to cancel his tour and did this concert for his Dears/fans. That’s why there was no audience to be seen or heard.
SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.

I guess when you have a near 8 octave range and so many singing techniques at your disposal you can sing anything !! You have scratched the surface of what Dimash can do - if this blew you away, it doesn't really matter what you react to next from Dimash, he will continue to surprise you ! "It talks about someone who is doubting their life and existence. They would like to know why things change and happen in life. That person doesn't want to live like that anymore as they have had enough. They wish they could switch bodies and get away from the hardness of life. This song also represents a story that leads off to suicidal thoughts and suicide itself. In the first verse, when it says 'pourquoi je vis, pourquoi je meur' it represents the thought that someone might have about why even bother live if you are going to cry anyways. There are lots of opposite sentence meaning that for example, why laugh then cry or why dark then bright. When it refers to them wanting to leave earth and become a bird it means to be free and do whatever they want and to be able to see life from another perspective or point of view. There are a few little sentences easy to spot but a big meaning hiding behind them, for example 'dodo l'enfant do' can either mean to enjoy life at a young age as there is complicated stuff ahead or dodo might mean sleep which means death in a sad way.
