This week I'm doing my FIRST REACTION to Dimash Qudaibergen, with the song "Sinful Passion", live at A'Studio. This time, I am joined by another travel buddy of mine, Wolf.

Dimash says he has been given so much in life, with wonderful family, wonderful teachers, etc that it is a responsibility to use these gifts in the correct way. He wouldn’t want to embarrass his family or tutors. And when he eventually doesn’t perform on stage, he will want to sit with the audience and be comfortable that he had done his best.

He has 2 BA degrees in contemporary and classical singing. He keeps developing. If he were arrogant, he would probably not be here, because he wouldn't seek to continuously improve.
Yes, this was Russian. He speaks it natively as Kazakhstan is a post Soviet country.
Edit: I don't speak Russian, so I was informed that he's fluent in it, but doesn't speak it natively.
I wouldn't say that he speaks Russian natively. He learned it after he went to school. Although he speaks pretty fluently but I can say it's not his first language. Same you can say that English is not my first one. Love and peace 💓💐🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
@@olgaatkin679 Interesting. I can't tell the difference, to be honest. I think it depends what age he started speaking, that influences how the brain develops and perceives the languages. If I'm not mistaken, it has to be before 7 years old.

@@estera4176 my native language is kazakh, but I didn't know that well when was studying at russian school and live in russianspeaking neighborhood. But after 7th degree I get into kazakh school and tillI now mostly speak Kazakh. So your friends, family, etc influence you. I used to think russian, now I think in kazakh. But if I speak russian some times later I began thingking russian. Dimash also rased by his both granies and live in mostly kazakh speaking sphere. But living in Kazakhstan it's normal know at least two language. He knows russian well, but there was a little actient. Now, working in Russia he had abig practice, so he become more and more fluent. Most of Kazakhs living in cities like Almaty Russian is like first language. It's shaming to don't know it. And each year the level of English is also developig(it was terrible, especially in villages).
@@user-ry8mk8ks5x Thanks. It's great that English is developing. And speaking 2 language fluently already is a great advantage, language define reality in different forms and there are so many cultural traits pertaining to it.
But in a way, it's a shame Russian predominates in big cities, because it is spoken by so many countries, while Kazakh is spoken only by Kazakh and Kazakhstani people, if I'm not mistaken. So it should be cherished and preserved (not saying it's not at the moment, but cities are very influential and change might slowly occur) , in my opinion, lest it gets lost after many generations. It's beautiful.
The 'ethnic/persian' part, starting at 11:05 is something Dimash added to the song as a funeral dirge for the original singer of AStudio who has passed away (the band backing Dimash). Dimash was asked to perform at this concert for AStudio, on the 20th Anniversary of this song. He added that part as a measure of respect for the original singer. He performs this part every time he sings the song, too. Just another way Dimash shows his kind, giving, respectful nature 💜

Mr. Kudaibergen used "khoomei" singing technique in "Sinfull passion". You can hear it from the all Turan group. Tuvan throat singing (Khoomei,xöömei in Tuvan) is one particular variant of overtone singing practiced by people in Turkic Tribes (one of them Tuva), Mongolia, Inner Mongolia and Siberia. Consequently, the source of "riffs and runs" is from his own culture. NOT PERSİAN.
That kind of singing is existing in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan etc. It's like smth shamanic. You may see the band hassak(if I'm not mistaken), they use kazakh native musical instruments, throat singing etc. May be arabic, percian etc also have that kind of singing.
@@user-ry8mk8ks5x It is neither arabic nor persian. There is not "maybe" in musikologie. We will lock the musical colleges? Also music was a one of the "Big Sins" for wahhabis for long centuries. (Please ask Taleeban.) And we don't prefer stealin' any "Russian balalaika", "arabic yalelli", "Persian Zarathustra chants" or " Chinese opera". Turkic melismatic vocal tecnicques are so rich and full composed.

Dimash took a master class in Broadway Musicals in 2009. He received a degree in classical music (vocal) in 2014, a degree in contemporary music (vocal) 2018. He received is masters in composition in June of 2020, and is currently working on his doctorate in musicology.
A'Studio is not a place but the bands name that performed this song(Sinfull Passion) over 20 years ago. The singer off this band passed away and this was in their honor. The band Dimash is singing with ,is the original band.👍

And that middle eastern vibrato is called a Persian warble or cry and was supposedly inserted by Dimash to honor the late lead singer of A Studio.
Another "DEAR" said DIMASH donates the flowers to local hospitals.
Yes...DIMASH IS THE BEAST when he sings. He sinks inside the music; he becomes POSSESSED in a nice way. I mean, he embodies the character of the song. And you can see when he "goes under" and "comes up".
He ALWAYS thanks the band & bandleader. He understands as a musician what time & commitment it takes to deliver a great performance.

Dimash is singer, composer, actor, dancer, fashion model, belt in martial art of Tae-kwon-do, humanitarian, cultural ambassador from Kazakhstan to China, and the best singer in the world ever.
He has many talents, but I get tired of listing them all; keeping up with him is exhausting, but fun as he is truly one of a kind, forever his fame will last, and all the world hasn't really found him yet; but when they do; look out and Holy Moley.
Dimash is so humble and down to earth that I call him the "anti-diva" and I love him even more for that. He was part of a terrible US talent competition called The World's Best. They lied to him as they told him he would not be competing against kids. In the semi final he was shocked he would go up against 2 kids. In his country the culture is to help and encourage kids and not have adults compete against them. Though he would have surely won the $1 million dollars prize he quit the show after performing but before the judges got to open their mouth. The show was canceled after that season. My respect for this man knows no bounds. We all love your friend too as he is as genuine as you.

It is true that he gets so many flowers he can't hold them all. Once a rose fell on the stage and Dimash picked it up and kissed it before putting it with the other flowers. 😊💕

By the way, a fun fact for you,, he doesn't get the typical flower that an opera singer would get from an audience in a theater. His audience buys a Bouquet of flowers for Dimash. Is beautiful to see the reciprocity of a well-invested audience. although Dimash gives us his all. If the emotion lingers after you hear him that means something important is left for you. to make you feel loved and important.

Dimash is a storyteller who uses his entire arsenal (technique, vocal range, body expression, style...) as a resource to involve the audience in the story he presents. When we pay attention to the lyrics, the story behind it, the feeling that it can wake up, then we understand that everything he does is not for personal exaltation, but to captivate and elevate what he is singing! When Dimash sings, it becomes the music itself!

This is in Russian. You have a long road of Dimash ahead of you. Personally, I believe he's historically the greatest singer ever. Whenever you may get to these 3 songs, it would be best to go to Gloria Wu's channel for their background stories; "Daybreak", "Autumn Strong" and "Daididau". From the time I heard Dimash from the first time, whenever ai hear anybody else singing anything else I say Dimash could have done it better or this is just isn't good enough because Dimash and turn into viewing listening to Know, adagio, SOS, across endless dimension and like 30 other songs by Dimash Dimash is the best vocalist ever.

100%! He isn't "just", or "simply" the best vocalist I've ever heard, it's also his incredibly powerful stage performance, his aura, charisma. From a powerful glance, a 1 sec glance or seemingly unimportant gesture.... On top of his personality, his humbleness and gratefulness, the outstanding orchestral and visual/light show effect support.... It's magic.
You know,... when people say they feel pain in muscles they didn't even know they have after whatever physical activity.

Important point: never watch videos from the US show Best voice or something like that. They were very rude with him, because he refused to be in competition against children (due to Kazakh traditions: you always spotlight the kids) and their reactions were disgraceful. Greetings from Belgium!

Definitely! Nothing from "The World Best". They never showed the entire song. It is horrible. They deceived him saying he would not compete with children. When he discovered, he left the show. He could win easily but he decide to do what is right in his culture.

Yoru said it right, he is kind humble person. His fans, "DEARS" shower him with flowers at each concert. He does everything for his contry and his fans. He takes time to talk with his fans, at times he is rushed, but he makes up for it. He cares very much for family, & children & his music. Yes he's 27. Mother is an Opera Singer, Dad is singer songwriter. This song was Kazakh the group paying is also from Kazakhstan, Dimash was filling in because they lost their lead singer. The chant in the song was a tribute for the former lead singer.
Dimash was born in Kazakhstan in 1994. He began studying music at the age of 5, the age at which he was diagnosed with "absolute pitch." He graduated from classical and contemporary music. He has a master's degree in composition and he is currently pursuing a doctorate in musicology. He speaks Kazakh, Russian and English and studies Mandarin Chinese. He sings in 12 languages.
He has received countless awards and distinctions at home and abroad. After competing in "I am a singer" in China 2017 he became famous all over the world. He postponed his ARNAU tour due to the pandemic, events that he will resume as soon as the conditions are met. He is also a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (6). He has ventured as an advertising model, actor, dancer and audiovisual director. (He directed the video of him Qairam Elim). He is just 27 years old and is 1.91 m (6.3 ft) tall. He lives in his country Kazakhstan.
I cannot fail to mention that he is an exceptional human being.

The throat singing interlude is a Kazakh mourning lament, he inserted, in tribute to a member of the accompanying band who died.
I really, really enjoyed your reaction and it's always great when there are two or more reactors at a time. Wolf was right on when he pointed out Dimash's character. I personally think that's a huge reason his fan base is so loyal.... because it's more than his voice - it's the whole package! I would love to see both of you guys reacting together to "Olimpico - Dimash & Igor Krutoy". Igor is the composer of the song and he wrote it specifically for Dimash. He has performed it many times but I think this particular performance that I recommended is the best because there is also a great light show and the crowd is crazy!

Sinful Passion in Russian; the lyrics for this song is amazing, the pianist in this performance wrote the song. The original version was not as amazing as this version. It was the genius of Mozart to hear music and change it to a better version and now it is the genius of DIMASH to do the same. That genius and his humble attitude is why the dears love him so well and defend him passionately. They know in their hearts just how amazing he is.
As musicians you really should watch " River of Love" it is an instrumental with Dimash playing the Dombra, the Kazakh national instrument. Then of course "Be With Me" the MV not the Sochi performance, watch that one later, so you see that MV or live it sounds the same.

You have correctly noticed that Dimash is a complete artist, one who uses all elements at his disposal to bring the song's MEANING to life, so it touches his listeners' souls. He uses his vocal range, his wealth of techniques and styles, his facial expressions, his hand movements--and when under his control, his costumes, setting, and lighting--all to bring his songs to life. He studies each song in advance and contemplates how he can best serve the song's meaning.
Vocal coaches sometimes like to listen without the lyrics to study only his vocal techniques with no distractions, but the lyrics are an integral part of understanding what Dimash is creating. And in some songs like DAYBREAK and AUTUMN STRONG, it's impossible to truly appreciate his performances if you do not know the background to these true-life stories and read the subtitles as he sings.
For example, although Dimash displays his high register in most of his songs, in SINFUL PASSION, it seems intended in special way. If you read the lyrics you'll see this is a declaration of passionate, I mean, ahem, REALLY passionate love. Dimash sings as the male lover when in his lower register and becomes the female in his high register. Out of respect, I've never stated this so bluntly, but my interpretation is that they declare their passion for each other as they consumate their love. I think I'd better shut up about this now, LOL. Anyway, the point is each song has its own meaning represented by Dimash's artistic choices.
BTW, he added the section that sounds like very fast yodeling (but of course it's not yodeling, I've forgotten the correct name for it) to the song as a dedication or tribute to one of the original Studio-A members who passed away a few years earlier. It's a cultural vocalization traditionally used at death/burial.

More about Dimash's character....he is polite, respectful to elders, humble, loves children, is supportive of other young singers, and never shows up others in duets. During the pandemic, he sang a very touching song called "WE ARE ONE", and has composed his own song about world peace called "WAR AND PEACE".
So basically, what you have here is both the ultimate fantasy-dream man, and heartbreak, for millions of young women who are in love with him. A handsome, unparalleled talent who can sing to them, who works hard, achieves worldwide success, yet is humble, who is a truly kind person, loves children and respects elders, donates money to important causes, believes in equality and the brotherhood of all mankind...
And the heartbreak, ultimately only 1 young woman will win his heart. 💖
Thank goodness I am no longer young, LOL! Many older Dears hope that his qualities will influence today's youth across the board, and in the music world specifically to show that skimpy outfits, violent and obscene lyrics, gyrating on stage and crotch shots are not necessary for popularity and success.
