    Nice job. Few other you tubes videos cover the actual how to do Holley modifications. The 2 corner to 4 corner idle mixture screws is a good topic. The conversion of Model 4160 to 4150 using Conversion Kits has the wrong meter block for the 4 corner modification. One will need a meter block like the primary side with idle adjustment screws. So even a 4150 rear meter block will need to be changed or modified for idle screws.

      Gene yes, I have always used a primary metering block in the rear of my race carbs and completed the unmachined circuits in the main bodies and plates . Butt other blocks with out idle or pv provisions could be modified and used but it's not an easy mod. There is so many mods to be done on racing carbs. Never stop thinking Gene .

    I think most of this were already built into my old Barry Grant 750. Still great Info on how to get things done.

    I have a performnce 400ci Chevy Small block with a 950cfm Holley HP.
    the air fuel mixtiure goes rich over 6500RPM. I have tried bigger air bleeds , but did not change the problem. I had a comment from another driver that it could be the air bleeds in the metering blocks, but I have no knowledge in this area. Any advise you may have would be appreciated

      Rob your wanting some 007 information, I need to know how many bleeds you have in your blocks and the sizes top to bottom and if they are replaceable.

    I got a bone stock Holley 3310SA 750cfm vacuum secondary manual choke I will be putting on my 72 F250 390, engine has a RV cam, aluminum intake, headers, dual exhaust, HEI. I am wondering if you think 750cfm is going to be too much. It's a work/tow truck. 4 speed manual, 3.73 rear gear. I was going to get an old 650 and rebuild it but I got this one still in the box brand new for basically free. I live around 4,000 elevation. I am going to be swapping over to it next week.

      Ryan the 750 is probably a little big for watch your doing with it, but being you don't have much in it I believe I would give a try it , I think you'll need to jet it down at 4000 ft elevation , I'm figuring you have a dual plane intake which will help. Might work out better than we think , I would give it a try.

      @@holleycarbshowtosadvice40y90 Thanks for the response. I'll be throwing it on in about 3-4 days. I had an Edelbrock 1406 600cfm and I actually had to go 2 steps richer to get it to a golden brown on the plugs. This Holley will be an entirely different animal though. I'll let you know how it goes

      How did it go, Ryan? Would like to hear.

      @@mickangio16 Well Holley sent me a factory refurb carb that was full of rust so I contacted them and they sent me a brand new model Holley 3310S. I had some issues with the Mr Gasket dual feed hard line leaking from the threads so I went a route where I got some 3/8 nipples that come out of the carb and a T splitter and ran all rubber lines but it is running really good now no leaks. I can tell it isn't as finely tuned as the Edelbrock was but I don't have the time / effort to perfect the mixture rite now, it runs good plenty of power starts rite up and the manual choke makes my life much easier.

    Do you have any tips on adjusting the secondary throttle blades on a 4150 hp style carb ?

    • @holleycarbshowtosadvice40y90
      @holleycarbshowtosadvice40y90  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Corey I usually set the primary side first to get my tranfere slots correct and then use my secondaries to get my idle correct but only to a point not to expose secondary transfere slots , if I need more air at this point I will drill bypass holes, remember there are so many variables even locked out ignition timing makes big changes in idle vacuum , so this is where you finish with small adjustments . Hope this helps.

      Jim I have no way of flowing it but I believe it's a substantial increase in cfm and velocity and throttle response.
