  • The Mahindra Mojo is not just an unconventional looking motorcycle but the first time that an Indian manufacturer has built a sports tourer like this. Our peanut sized racer takes a break from his chicane life & heads to Coorg to cover over 1000kms on the Mahindra Mojo and this is what he thinks about it.

    Good review.
    Although I completely agree that RE himalayan is a better option when it comes to long distance touring.
    But somewhere i feel mahindra is not promoting mojo properly.
    Given a good windshield it can prove to be a good tourer. And a very good option for people who wants to buy a bullet but dnt wana be victimised by its cons.
    If ever mahindra makes mojo 2.0 with ABS , single exhaust and a windshild. I think it will be a HIT.

      for long distance please try mojo once nikhil !! and you will say it's really good ! yes there are some minor issues with the first product but considering Himalayan over MOJO for highway rides is not that good ! it lacks power in every range but OFFROADING is where it will lead !

    I own this bike... Performance & build quality are really awesome...it's build to last forever... Right from paint quality to switch gears.... & most importantly Service cost is lower compared to KTM... When it comes to riding it's best suited for b city, highway & surprisingly off roading too..
    Only downside is the rear pillion seat... Space is not enough for 6 feet tall guy...
    If you are buying Himalayan for brand sake... It's like voting rahul Gandhi since Congress is an very old party...Peace

    Anyone who thinks that Mojo isn't a looker should actually look at it in person.
    Go and get a test ride of that thing. It's brilliant.
    And Mojo was never meant for the young. It's for people aged bw 25 to 35. It's stable, yet sporty.
    Photos and videos can never do justice to Mojo. :-(

      @sameerkulkarni116 8 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      +yudhistirs I wasn't making fun of anyone, just highlighting the perils faced by short riders whom manufacturers conveniently ignore while setting up saddle height. Mahindra being Indian should have known better while designing Mojo with such high saddle.
      And for the record, at 5'4", I myself go through same situation everyday trying to keep my RC straight!

    I own a Mahindra Mojo myself, and after watching your review, can’t seem to understand why few others who own one are dissing the review so much. I’ve had the motorbike for over six months now and can relate to most of the things in your review. Couple of things I don’t seem to agree with you are:
    1. Fueling - the motor is jerky at anything under 5K on the tachometer; once you get past it, I have no complaints.
    2. Side-stand - you’ll get used to finding it fairly quickly!

    • @akshat2288
      @akshat2288 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had commented long back that PD should do a review of the Mojo. I personally would have loved only Satyen to do it. That was the image in my head, Mr. Poojary cruising on a serene highway in slo-mo. Makes sense in terms of perspective. It is a tourer, no matter our aspirations of what it could've/should've. Not everyone wants a 'track-worthy' motorcycle. I have spent more than 4 years now on one of the, if not the most comfortable bike sold in India - Impulse. Toured throughout the country, traversed the coastline, a lot of times with a pillion AND luggage! And it's still my daily office commuter as well! But I'm now considering the Mojo because I need comfort, low-end torque & build quality.
      My two cents - it looks really good in red (somehow it looks nicer than it does in pictures), sounds great with DB killers removed (if that's the attention you want) but the brakes could have been better, headlamps are still puny 35W bulbs and Mahindra should include ABS to make it a complete package.

    • @satyenpoojary
      @satyenpoojary 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you :) @Akshat - them blokes at PD office don't let me go on a vacation! Sigh!
      Jokes asides, that's exactly the point of the review. The impulse is an all-round package born ahead of its time. The Mojo is a worthy upgrade if you ask me, lot more power but its the last leg of evolution is where it has gone south.
      A bit more corner clearance would have meant we could use "all" of its tyre.
      Better brakes (optional brake pad upgrades)
      A windscreen that works better (and blends better with the rest of the bike)

Give a generic review, not ur personal likings so it will be more clear. I rode the bike and I feel its a great tourer to have and a great competitor to RE Thunderbird. Mahindra has already put India to the map being the only Indian manufacturer in the MotoGP. Despite being a good review I feel, a touring person (rather than racing) would have liked more what Mahindra has to cater. Mojo's engine has been the best part if your compare with CBR and Himalayan. The only thing that has to be seen is how Mahindra manages its services network and spare parts as their competitors already have an upper hand in this segment.

  • @greatestever7797
    @greatestever7797 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    +PowerDrift Review seems to be a bit biased, given the way you potray mahindra products as a secondary basis being an indian manufacturer is kinda a bummer. Not surprised why mahindra didn't invite you in the first place for the first ride event of mojo because you treat their products very lightly and highly criticize there shortcomings.Not happy with the review, the review seems to be a narration from only one perspective and kind of pushy when it comes for the reviewers point of view. Was expecting a little bit of enthusiasm given the bike which was missing in its segment of touring for a long time. Highly respect your work but you need to show some appreciation where it is due especially when it comes to an indian manufacturer of any kind. Not every one can rome in aprillia, ducatis and harley's right?

    ok. I hear some of you Indian guys crying and moaning over this bike and I would like to throw my opinion in as an American guy who has owned a ton of badass bikes over the past 30 years. I actually like how this bike looks.. it has character. Not every visual element is perfect but if I had that bike in my stable I could mod that thing out into something that would look pretty wicked.. just check my videos to see my past projects. This bike is something that could develop into something special in this price range. The name sucks though .."Mojo"??? fuck... ha ha should have been called something else.. maybe just numbers and letters. "MS-01" I think (Mahindra Single model 1)

    Very sad review by PD. Ask any Mojo owners they know the pleasure of riding. One thing one should agree is, riding a MOJO is a class apart. Lol don't compare Himalayan where you need to throw a stone to change a gear (very hard gear box) and horrible fork (suspension). You can ride a Mojo nonstop for over 1000kms yet you don't feel the pain or tiredness. Mojo has an amazing balance and momentum. easily once can corner at high speed. Good balance of weight in the bike, with a great road grip by Rosso II tyers from Pirelli. The "OWLY" look of the bike and the complete fantastic design of bike. It's just not the tourer kind of a bike like CBR, what you can ride on highways. I say that Mojo rocks on off-road as well.
    facebook.com/puneeth.harlapur/posts/1002381486464353
    One should really appreciate, that it's made by an Indian company. MADE IN INDIA. The attraction you get on roads, fuel stations, appreciation from other super biking clubs feels like paisa vasul.
    #MahindraMojo Rocks, only the proud owners knows what value and class the bike offers.

This one is really boring and does not really talk about what Mojo is capable of..you guys might wanna speak to the owners and take inputs from them. I mean how can you compare Mojo to the Himalayan which stands nowhere in the motorcycling industry as far as quality standards and engine refinement is concerned. Talk Sarath Shenoy who has done Raid the Himalayas on this motorcycle and then you will know the capability of the Mojo.

    • @powerdriftofficial
      @powerdriftofficial  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Vinod Patil The opinion is neutral :) And the start isn't negative, it is a metaphorical reference to how altering the DNA can change one for good or otherwise :)

    • @yudhistirs
      @yudhistirs 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Vinod Patil same applies to Mahindra, they started off to make something and ended up making something else, Mahindra kept changing the design and character of the bike over the years and ended up with bits and pieces of all types of bikes which don't really function as a whole, they could have instead launched different versions of the bike instead of cramming it up with everything, thats what the review highlighted

  • @navneethkrishnan8925
    @navneethkrishnan8925 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    awesome!!😁😁 you guys finally made it!! a mojo rider myself from the last 5 months...and I must say... it's an honest review from that racing guy's POV... but I'm not a racer...I don't go on the track... my track is my commute everyday... and for that purpose I must say... the mojo beats all... also from the tourer POV.. windshield can be added for windblasts just like in the KTM Duke 390... huge respect for the REs too... I'm grateful to have been exposed to this beast at a time when I was so confused.. about which bike to choose... my choices were RE350/TBTS... love the looks love the sound... hate the vibes and breakdowns...next up the KTM twins... sexy ass bikes😍😍 but to hot for me to handle... the CBR... well if it was 300 would've been a different story... but it is not... and then... I found the Mojo😍😍😍💜💜💜 it is what you want it to be... an amalgamation of all those bikes in one.I would just like to end by saying... my first 6000 kms have been bliss 😇

    Agreed that the initial cost of the bike is much less for what you get as an overall package in the Mojo but the running costs are too high.

  • @komalthecoolk
    @komalthecoolk 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    See, you have put a whole blanket of how this bike doesn't appeal to you as a racer which may have deterred a lot of people looking to use this as a fun commuter. As reviewers you should be neutral OR do it like in some of your older videos with opinions coming in from more than one person.

    • @powerdriftofficial
      @powerdriftofficial  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +komalthecoolk The opinions here are collective indeed. And that was not the point of the review. We liked the Mojo in what it has become, minus its oddities in terms of lack of windshield, some more clearance, and better brakes. Not the last mile evolution if you ask us. However, we would have liked it more had it stuck to its sporty street commuter ethos and delivered as well.

    • @komalthecoolk
      @komalthecoolk 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +PowerDrift I don't want to argue back and forth with my favorite auto channel on TH-cam :) but this still is a very opinionated review based on your expectation of what the bike was in the past but what we have in hand is the final product and the review should be just for that. If I filter out all the "this but that" and "as a biker" statements, this bike is a pretty good 300cc bike I would have liked to buy for every day commute and occasional outskirts speed driving.

    • @powerdriftofficial
      @powerdriftofficial  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +komalthecoolk We agree that is a pretty good 300cc and we've mentioned that as well.

    Finally, you found one to check out. From someone who owns one, I think its a very fair review. I wanted something that would take me from Bangalore to Leh, the Himalayan I knew would take me double the time to get there (maybe/hopefully/will it?) and the CBR would probably loose a few pieces of the aerodynamics in Rohtang itself, so Mr Mojo felt like a better option. I'm happy with it after 4500 km mostly highway rides

    this bike didn't get popular and i think styling is one big factor.
    it looks like a cross between a dirt bike and a commuter with some quikry styling.
    Mahindra has not been a two wheeler company and it shows in the Mojo.
    whereas Bajaj for eg. with its 220 is a completely opposite story.

    Top music! Love the electro-rock progressive angle to it. Review reflected somewhat how I felt about the bike when I test rode it. Loved the equipment and fit and finish, sound too! But there was always something missing in the experience. It could rev higher, seating ergonomics was strange, filtering felt strange. Still considered buying it though.
    However, this was the best way Mahindra could showcase their bikes. I have full faith in Mahindra that their next performance bike would be a scorcher!(Mahindra scrambler concepts anyone?)

    I Feel this is the Worst Review from Powerdrift, MOJO is something else, just do a test drive

    It's wonderful, but I don't like the Mahindra signature gold pipes on side. They need to come up with enhanced design, that blends with bike to make an identity.!

      +Yashwanth P Seems to be their visual identity for all motorcycles. We aren't quite the fan of it either, but hey, it works for some!

    What's with the low voice and loud bgm?. Had to increase volume each time he talks. Hate this review.

    Would choose CBR 250R over Mojo any day
    Full fairing cuts off most of the wind blast and helps you tour with ease

    Mahindra has everything they need to turn this into a proper naked street fighter. Remove one silencer, alter the throttle response, stiffen up the seat and suspension a little, size down that fuel tank to may be 15 ltrs.. Work on the looks a little bit and there you go.. I see a competitor to tnt 25 and with loss of the above mentioned things, a better value for one too..

      By the way it's refreshing to see a more balanced review in terms of information and visuals.. Without sarge doing his wheelies on anything with two wheels, the review seems a bit more realistic 😃😃

    himalayan bike is crappy its gear shifting is very hard from first to second, its low end torque is not good so u will end up in city riding with changing to lower gear frequently,dont feel confident over 110 kms/hr speed,still i have seen oil leaks from engine asusual,engine is underpowered,engine is overheated than regular re,engine stalls suddenly on the stop and go traffic,and these are my personal and few fellow riders experiences in our re group

      +sandeep monish We shall address these points in our review :)
      Ps: A long stroke large single cylinder motor usually makes more torque, we are guessing you test rode a lemon

      +PowerDrift the width of bore and length of stroke is just few millimetres difference so u can t call it a looong stroke engine

    Mahindra should work on this and make it a sports tourer. It will look more at ease, at home, atleast for me that is.
