Sheikh Hamzah Yusuf has a soft heart. He did this couple of times in his talks. He couldn't help it perhaps because he used to live in poverty, felt the difficulties faced by poor people in the dessert.

I've never heard him say he lived in poverty. But i think he is just a kind, compassionate and loving scholar of Islam. I heard him say his father was an academic university scholar and mother was a human rights , social justice activist who fought hard for against inequality against the black Americans in the 50-60s.

The level of Christian scholarship is already so low (most priests, ministers and even deacons do not read or write in any of the Bible’s primary languages) - Sheyk Hamza’s comments and elucidation on the principles of Islam was dawah for these Christians.

I listened to the Sheik Hamza for years. I pray that God heals whatever deficiencies he has toward the Ummah. He made statements that are not empathetic toward our people, and in my heart I want to lash out, but I think that the creator is all-knowing and will handle matters in the proper way and hold accountability in the proper way. Inshallah, this Sheik and his family are blessed, and any deficiencies are healed, and he walks on the correct path. He is still my brother, and I wish him the best.

They are not those who are most eloquent in their speech, nor are they those who are most accredited by the people, nor are they those who have been given certification by these wordly institutions, nor are they those who are best at stating their opinions. Rather they are those who hear the words of Allah Subhana wa Ta'la, recite it, and act upon it. Those whom acknowledge that all knowledge is with Allah Subhana wa Ta'la and who seek guidance and sustenance from him before any other. Inshallah, Allahu a'alam
In today's world people are so quick to cling to personalities, to remember their names, and to venerate them, But Allah's(Subhana was Ta'ala) names are more beautiful.
I say this regarding everyone who is so eager to consume the opinions of the scholars while neglecting the Scripture.

Please understand this dunya is not the eternal life… think with logic and not emotion, ask Allah for guidance. He has always supported the freedom but all of us should stand against any form of terrorism as it’s against Islam.

وَرُهْبَانًۭا وَأَنَّهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ
You will surely find the most bitter towards the believers to be the Jews and polytheists and the most gracious to be those who call themselves Christian. That is because there are priests and monks
among them and because they are not arrogant.

Yes Islam is the only religion we have to follow, from the time of the revelation to the Prophet s. to the day of qiyama.
But not everyone will come across the teaching of Islam and doesn't know the truth. Of course these people won't go to jahannam, because they didn't have any possibility to see the truth!
