    Great work. Thanks. I wish you shown how google map or waze looks like (whole screen or part of the screen).

    Thanks for the info. It’s insane that Hyundai doesn’t offer wireless CarPlay in the Limited Tucson models. If I buy a top of the line Tucson, I have to use a usb cable, like it’s 2013. #Dealbreaker

      The reason why is because you already have navigation system in the limited. People like myself only use Android auto to display Google maps on the screen in instead of looking at your phone.

      @@whitter562 Yes, but there are reasons we would want the phone connected. As an uber driver I need to quickly update the address i am going to without typing it.

      My salesman explained that the nav system & wireless CarPlay use separate chipsets but they occupy the same bus--and with nav-equipped (Limiteds) Tucsons the nav prevails. Blame the worldwide chip shortage, too. (Which also explains why the SEL Convenience's mirror now lacks a compass--an annoyance for Boomers who don't "do" nav on their phones). You can still connect to the USB data (left) port tor CarPlay. Maddeningly, on the SELs if you connect an external device (iPod, second phone, CD player--yeah, some people hate to stream and still want to listen to CDs) via the USB port to select via the Media button, wireless CarPlay is disabled and your phone can only function as a phone--albeit still handsfree. Can't have it all. As to the compass, for my old-school husband who just wants to know if he's heading N,S,E, or W and can't figure out how to put Apple's built-in Compass app on his phone's home screen to show up in CarPlay, I bought a dashboard compass (duct tape, or suction-cup to windshield). Probably have some magnetic interference, so exact coordinate headings won't be accurate, but he'll be pointed in the right (approx.) direction.
      Some car makers would do well to realize that many buyers don't conduct their entire lives via smartphone, and even still prefer to use the remote that came with their rolling-code garage door openers rather than have to tag-team with a second person on a ladder to program their mirrors to do that).
      I still have nav on my own 2014 car (and we had it on the 2011 we traded for the 2022 Tucson Hybrid SEL Convenience), but my husband never learned how to use it.

      Yes, we get the premium package so that we get stuck with an inferior wireless connectivity, and in exchange we get a nav system that is inferior to Google Maps. Not a good trade-off.

  • @alexhatcher2904
    @alexhatcher2904 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    My understanding is that Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto are available on all SEL trims. Becomes wired when you move into the Limited. You state in the beginning of your video that the SEL Premium has navigation, and therefore, does not have Wireless CarPlay. Is that right? I think the SEL Premium still has wireless. Can you clarify? Thank you.

    I appreciate your videos. We just bought a 2022 Tucson Limited, & the dealer didn't explain anything, so I've been on my own. Am I correct in understanding that I can't get Apple Carplay to show on the screen without a cable because I have factory navigation? Is that because the car's navigation needs to be overridden with the cable?

    • @Boomerette
      @Boomerette 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup. The nav and wireless CarPlay chips would compete with each other (that's how the salesman explained it) and something had to give, so in the Limited, the nav won out.

    Question please, so screens with navigation do they have the wireless hardware but not activated so a later update can bring the wireless option! or they don't have the hardware at all?

    • @Boomerette
      @Boomerette 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's a hardware issue (requiring an extra chip but nowhere to put it). Who knows, though, if there'll be a firmware update?

    Can I have Apple car play in the left usb and a usb drive with music/vids in the right usb and both work the same time? I want to listen to my music from the stick while navigating with Waze or Google maps.

    • @Boomerette
      @Boomerette 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope. The right USB port is for charging/power only. Only the left port handles data. There are dongles that might let you transfer the files from the stick on to your phone, however--or you could do a "kludgy" solution using iTunes on your computer (upload the stick's files to iTunes in the computer, then hook up your phone and download them from iTunes).

    Is there a way to rearrange the order of my favorited Sirius/XM channels? The "record" option is only available on the first ten favorite channels and they are automatically saved in order of the station number.

    • @PuenteHillsHyundai
      @PuenteHillsHyundai  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dennia great question, go to your unwanted saved channels and push on the star that is highlighted blue. Once the star is no longer blue, it should no longer be a saved channel.
      Hope this helps! 😃

    Do you have a video to show how to use Apple Cae Play iOS On a 2022 Hyundai Tucson? I have searched. In this case Apple seems to be useless at least to me because it says plug your iPhone into your car and the way you go. That doesn’t work for me mate
