@@TwoGuysandaRide 6 weeks turned into 10 weeks lol. It's here and I love it! Did have a question. My wife is not keen on using her data when she doesn't have to. Is that the only way to use Android Auto or Apple CarPlay? I know you can still use maps offline without traffic and so on. But it seems she can't even make calls off the steering wheel unless our data is on when she's connected to Android Auto. That said, is there a way to disable Android Auto so it's not automatically connecting when she gets in the vehicle or a way to disable it once it connects? Everything I tried doesn't seem to work. I couldn't even delete her phone from the Tucson because of Android Auto.
@@MicEffect congratulations on your new ride! To answer your first question, that is pretty much the only way to use Apple CarPlay or android auto unless your playing music that is stored locally on your phone. To answer your second question, probably the easiest way is to click on Setup, it’s on the right hand side of the screen just above tune/file. Then click on Phone Connections. Then click on phone projection on the left and from there you should be able to disable her phone for Android Auto or turn Android Auto off completely. Then on her phone go to Bluetooth settings and find the Hyundai Tucson connection and tell the phone to forget this connection ( should be a symbol you can click on to do this apple phones have a small “i”). Now reconnect her phone via Bluetooth to the car. Watch both infotainment and phone screen, at some point it will ask you once you have first connected if you want to enable Android Auto. Here you will want to click no. Now her phone should be connected to the car but only via Bluetooth. This would mean that any music she has stored on her phone will play without using data. But if she makes a call or uses something like Spotify or Pandora that will still use data. Hope that helps, thanks for watching and don’t forget to hit that subscribe button!
@@TwoGuysandaRide got another question for you. My wife was wondering if there's a way to change the station from the steering wheel if she's on Sirius XM for example When she tries to press the lever up or down to the inside of the volume, all it does is change the band. It will switch the track if you're playing Spotify but for some reason it won't change station channels.

Great video, best i've seen on TH-cam for operating the buttons on the steering wheel, actually shows the buttons being used so it was easy to see their function, thanks for your time making the video. That also applies to the Infotainment menu, well done.
Undoubtedly the best video on the 8 inch Tucson Drivers Information Screen and Infotainment Screen on the web. Especially since Hyundai caters currently only to those with. the 10 inch screen. My 2024 Tucson has the 8 inch screen and after a little search I found your video from 2022 and it’s perfect for my 2024. Very good instructions. Thanks very much. One question: Does the 8 inch screen have the ability to locate the hidden cubes for the speedometer and tachometer? Just curious. Thanks again.
Thank you for awesome compliment, we appreciate it. According to Hyundai, all fully digital screens, including the 8” have the cubes for the speedometer and the tachometer. Thanks for watching!
Excellent job. One question: If there are two drivers, does the system recognize which key/phone is being used? ie. are all the settings saved for each given key?
Thanks for the compliment! Yes the car will retain separate settings for each key/phone that has been programmed as a profile. Thanks for watching and don’t forget to hit that subscribe button!
I was hoping to get a little more in-depth... I heard lots of "you can push this button or choose this option"; but very little explanation of why you would want a particular setting. Especially in the driver assistance center. So many of those options are new to me, like setting the following distance in cruise control.
Thanks for the suggestions, we’re always looking to improve. The basic reason I don’t include those is because the video is already almost 30 Mn long. But that’s a great point, and I’ll have to see if I can work in a short “why” on those items. Thanks for the suggestions and thanks for watching!
That’s easy…just take your phone out as you’re sitting in your driveway and watch the video for all the stuff you need to adjust and learn about. Thanks for watching
Ok I’m assuming you meant tow mode? If so there’s a button just to the left of the steering wheel that has a picture of a trailer on it, push that to engage or disengage the tow mode. Thanks for watching!
@@TwoGuysandaRide No no....I mean the "Transportation mode" or " shipping mode"... I bought a new 2023 Tucson and I need to turn off the Transportation mode. My question is: How to dissable the Transportation mode On? Thanks for your attention....
@@carlosschemel1805ok gotcha. Boy that’s something your dealership should have done. Thanks for the question. To make the map screen show while your radio is playing press the home button (after you get the radio all set) then press the map button on the infotainment screen to bring up navigation. The radio will continue playing in the background. Alternatively on the video, I show you how to have a customized Home Screen that will show both media and maps at the same time. The one thing I didn't hear or I missed, is when you use android car play do you have to have the phone plugged in or can you use it wireless? My new car has a navigation button and a map button do you know where it's pulling the maps from, because on my Google maps it shows red if there's traffic ahead and but the car maps button does not show that? Thanks so much for sharing the video, it is very helpful.
Thanks for the question and compliment. The vehicle has both a wired version and wireless apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto depending on the vehicle trim level. This particular one had a wired connection. If it’s a wired connection simply plug your phones charging cable into the vehicles USB port and your done. For wireless android auto you first need to pair the phone using Bluetooth. As one of the final steps in the set up, it will ask you if you want to connect via wireless Android Auto or Bluetooth. Simply click on wireless android auto and your all set to go. In regards to the map button, it is accessing your vehicles built in navigation so may not display traffic like the nav apps on your phone. If traffic is available on your vehicles built in navigation, then you can turn that feature on by going into settings, then look for navigation settings. In there should be where you can turn traffic on or off. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the question. I believe that is found by going to the settings gear wheel in the instrument cluster, then scroll down to “cluster” and click on it. You should now see a couple of white boxes. They may or may not have a blue checkmark in them. Scroll through these until you see one for speedometer and in the white box next to it, click once and a blue checkmark should appear in it. You have now activated the digital speedometer. You may need to exit this and scroll over to the vehicle icon at the top, then scroll through its various pages until you see the digital speedometer. Thanks for watching!
@@alexadrian5484 ok that’s interesting. It should shut them off completely. I’m assuming you had the vehicle in Park when you checked. If it was in gear then the daytime run lights could be on as a safety factor. But if your in park, and the left stick is set to off, then the lights should be completely off. Iwould suggest bringing it back to the dealer as something is not right. In that case. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

Do you have a vid showing android auto for this car? We have it up but when using Google Maps to project onto the screen, there does not appear to be a way to split screen (with, for example, the radio).
Thanks for the question. Currently we don’t but I can answer your question. Android Auto does not allow a split screen. Instead, when navigation is showing, media is a small icon on the bottom you can quickly acces, and when media is show (when there is a Navi route running) the map icon will be at the bottom so you can quickly return to navigation. But currently Apple CarPlay is the only one to offer that split window. Thanks for watching!
I have Tucson sel with convenience, I can’t seem to find the setting for the smart lift gate. On Hyundai site, it says it comes with the convenience package. Please help!

Thanks for the question. Yes, to turn on the Digital Speedometer, click the menu button on the right side of the steering wheel until you get the the picture of a car on the top of the Drivers Information Screen, then using the the scroll up/down/OK button just below the menu button on the steering wheel scroll through to the last dot (see the little white dots on the right side by RPM gauge), and that will be your Digital Speedometer. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the question. I’m assuming your referring to the physical AWD lock button that’s right next to the drive mode button. When pushed it gives you better traction, but should only be used on snow, dirt/off road, and wet roads. Using it on dry roads can damage the AWD (all wheel drive). To turn it on be sure the car is running, then push the button, do the same to turn it off again. You may hear some extra noise or vibration for a short time (seconds) when it is changing between locked and unlocked and that is normal. Hope that helps, thanks for watching and don’t forget to hit that subscribe button!
@@TwoGuysandaRide Thanks you very much . Car has so much great options to the SEL Model . Found out today after much research we have the Convenience Model SEL . Who Knew ? LOL
Thanks for the question. It is automatically in AWD all the time, unless you push the AWD lock button, that mode gives you a little more traction in really bad roads, but will automatically shift back to Auto AWD if the vehicle exceeds 60 Km /37mph. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the question. If your phone is connected to the vehicles infotainment system and you are using a headpiece that’s connected to your phone, the radio will automatically mute if you get an incoming call until you hang up. I need some help. Whenever I press the liftgate button on my fob, it doesn't open the liftgate, it just rolls down the front windows.what am i doing wrong?
Thanks for the question. I am assuming you have a newer Tucson that has the keyless start (that would mean you have start/stop button that you use to start the vehicle). If so, it sounds like you need to reprogram the key fob. To do this is simple. Get in your vehicle, close all doors, press the start button without stepping on the brake (so the car is in accessory mode, not actual running). Next, press and hold down the unlock button until you see a light flashing, now let go of the unlock button. This will indicate the reprogramming is complete. Now step out of the car and try the Liftgate button again, remember you need to press and hold that tailgate button until you see the tailgate starting to open. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Question Can you change the Sirius XM display on the 2022 Tucson with the 10.25” radio? I hate the tube display with number of s inside the tubes and I cannot find how to change it. Thanks.
Thanks for the question. To turn the heat on just adjust the temperature upwards. The toggle switch to do this is located on the far right and left hand side of the temperature display. To turn the front camera on just click the “camera” button behind the shifter (should be easy to locate, it has a picture of a camera on it). Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the question. The owners manual does not address this so I’ll take an educated guess. I know there are other systems such as the built in nav that will not work if android auto is running. I’m guessing the reverse is the same. Your hooked to android auto but not in android auto so as you have experienced, the texts do not come through. 2 thoughts then: 1. Disconnect from android auto and see if connecting through just Bluetooth will allow you to see texts 2. Leave the android auto running and if you exit that app/screen try to remember to click on it when your done. If it’s Sirius XM your running, that app will continue to run even if the android auto screen is displayed. I realize that’s not the answer you probably wanted but it’s the best I can suggest. Hope it helps and thanks for watching!
Have you heard of the issues with the 2022 Tucson and apple car play. Basically it doesn’t work and you don’t get the apps you want i.e. waze, messages
I have two orange squares in my side mirror. I bought the sel and it suppose to come with blind spot monitor however I don’t see the car flash in the side mirror I see a triangle.
Thanks for the question. The triangle is what lights up when there is something in your blind spot. So, if a car is in your blind spot, the triangle lights up, when there’s not a car in your blind spot, the triangle does not light up. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
It has wireless Android Auto. I test drove one and did not need to plug my phone in. The Limited model however is not wireless....you have to plug in the phone.
Thanks for the question. Although you cannot turn that sound off completely you can adjust the volume of it by going to the infotainment screen and click on “System Settings” or the drivers information screen and find “Driver Assistant, click on it. Then scroll through the menu till you find “Warning Volume “ Click on it. From there you can set the volume to high, medium or low. Thanks for watching and don’t forget to hit that subscribe button!
I have been trying to figure out what my Hot Spot WIFI passkey is everywhere. Not being shown in the user manuals or any videos including this one or even on the Hyundai sites? What is the point of having a hotspot if no devices can connect to it because you dont know the password? Even the dealer has no clue. What is Hynduai doing with this feature?
The way the wifi hotspot works on this vehicle, is that it uses your phones hotspot and then broadcasts it in the car. Not sure if you're using an Apple or Android phone but I know on the iphones, you need to manually go into settings, then cellular data, and switch on your hotspot. First you need to be connected via bluetooth to the car. Then the password will be whatever you have set as your phones hotspot password. It would be nice if the car generated the hotspot, but it just broadcasts your phones. Thanks for watching!
@@TwoGuysandaRide Thank you for the clarification. I am using an Android 10 phone and connect via the driver side USB which allows use of Android Auto. I do have the phone hot spot turned on but because I was trying to connect another phone to the car wifi hotspot it did not seem logical to put in the password for the phone hotspot. I will try that next to see if it's successful. Thanks for your answer. First one to actually explain it. Even the sales guy had no clue.
Has anyone else had any issues with the CarPlay and Bluetooth phone call volume? The volume stays the same , no matter how low or high I change the volume. Only time it changes is it change the volume to 0 , and at that point it goes to mute.

Thanks for the question. There are two physical toggle switches to the immediate right and left of the climate screen. Push it upwards to get heat. There is no “heat” button per say. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the question. It can be for whatever you want. There’s no special reason for it. Thanks for the question. The only place I see to adjust alert sounds is under Settings and Volumes. If you watch the video starting at 12:09 you will see how to adjust alert volumes.
Thanks for the question. I’m assuming you mean the rear occupant alert? To do that go to the car infotainment screen and press setup, then press vehicle settings, then press convenience, then press rear occupant alert. From there you can turn that feature off. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
@@TwoGuysandaRide Thanks, not quite. Even with this turned off, the car keep beeping if someone is sat in the rear - would like to turn that off if you know how?
After looking at the owners manual, there does not appear to be a way to shut off the sound. It’s a safety feature letting you know someone is sitting on the rear unbuckled. Now If their buckled and it’s still making a sound I have two ideas. 1. The system is malfunctioning and I would recommend taking to the dealership and let them fix it. 2. There is something heavy enough sitting on a rear seat causing the seatbelt sensor alarm to go off, in that case move the object to any other location other than the rear seats. Thanks for watching
I’m assuming that you are talking about the reverse beeping you get when you are getting close to an object. That is part of the Reverse Parking Collision Avoidance Settings. To turn on the parking collision avoidance warnings go to the drivers information screen (dashboard). Go to drivers assistance, then under that category go to Parking Safety. Here you can turn Rear Active Assist on. If you select “Rear Warning Only” the system will warn you but will not brake for you. If you select Rear Active Assist” it will warn you (audible tones) and automatically brake if it detects an obstacle. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
@@TwoGuysandaRide the only option I have under “parking safety” is “Rear cross-traffic safety” and it’s on, still I don’t have and beeping if I’m close to an object.

Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
@@almog0751 blind spot detection should be on by default make sure you go into the sound settings of the infotainment and check both boxes for audible alerts even when the radio is playing
Did you mean “Smart Drive Mode”. If so it’s a drive mode that combines the normal and sport modes, giving you normal mode until give it a little extra push on the gas pedal, then it automatically switches to sport mode. Thanks for watching!
I would suggest you tell your phone to forget the Bluetooth car connection, then delete your phone from the car and then rehook the phone to the car. If your still having issues after that I would recommend taking it to the dealership. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the question. Did you hook to Bluetooth first? I have found that hooking to Bluetooth first, then connect via usb cable works the best. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and don’t forget to hit that subscribe button!
I’m assuming you may need to use a usb as you have already tried wirelessly and it did not work. The vehicle is equipped with wireless android auto but you have to be using software lollipop 5.0 or newer to use that wireless connection. If you have an older software version you should still be able to hook via the usb cable. Now in the event that your phone has Lollipop 5.0 or newer, and you have hooked via Bluetooth and Android Auto did not show up, then you may have a software issue within the vehicle.
Thanks for the question. First, I don’t think your son did anything. This is a problem other Hyundai owners have encountered. What you want to do is reset the screen, you can do this most simply by clicking the reset button, on the plastic edge of the infotainment screen. Look for a pin hole on the lower passenger side of the infotainment screen. Stick a paper clip in it and push and hold until the screen goes off, then you can remove the paper clip and it should now work like normal. You may have to reprogram radio favorites etc. If this does not work, take it to the dealership where you bought it, and have them reset it. You can also reset the screen by clicking on the Settings button on the screen and then clicking on several other buttons but the way I described above is the easiest. If you can’t find the pin hole where I said it would be, look around the whole plastic area directly around the infotainment screen and you should find one- there’s only one- hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the question. If your connected via Bluetooth you should be able to press the voice command button and answer it. If your connected via Apple CarPlay you can use Siri, and if your connected via Android Auto you can use the google assistant. Thanks for watching!

Just bought a 2022 Tuscon SEL and this video was very helpful. Do you know if there is a way to increase the illumination of the headlights, though?
Thanks for the question. In short, no there is not. Now if your lenses are yellowed a bit there are many lens cleaning kits you can buy to get them clear again, which can brighten your headlights if they were yellowed before. Thanks for the compliment and for watching!

Thank you for all of the information but please tell me how to get my digital speedometer back on display

What does the LOCK button do on the center console ? Just bought this car and have no idea . Thanks
Hi,does the 2022 hyundai tucson se has wired apple carplay? Thanks.
You can find the answer to that at 9:45 in the video.
My question is, if Im on the phone using earpiece how can I get the radio to play.
Thanks for the question. If your phone is connected to the vehicles infotainment system and you are using a headpiece that’s connected to your phone, the radio will automatically mute if you get an incoming call until you hang up. If however your phone is not connected to the vehicles infotainment system, you should be able to play the radio just like normal. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

I need some help here, when on the home screen it will not tell me when I have a text message, it only works on the Android auto screen
2 thoughts then:
1. Disconnect from android auto and see if connecting through just Bluetooth will allow you to see texts

I am using an Android 10 phone and connect via the driver side USB which allows use of Android Auto.

2. I'm having a problem where my screen stays on all day long even when my car is off I can't figure out what my son did
Thanks for the question.
Great info but your video is too long
Make some for one issue at time
Like how to set clock separate radio or wifi ect ect
We tried that and most viewers didn’t like it so we put everything in the video so you can scrub back and forth to find what you need
Disappointed that there is no compass.

If only this had time stamps.

How do I answer a text
Thanks for the question. If your connected via Bluetooth you should be able to press the voice command button and answer it. If your connected via Apple CarPlay you can use Siri, and if your connected via Android Auto you can use the google assistant. Thanks for watching!
