We take a look at the top 5 Cancelled Nintendo games that were either completed and never released or were cancelled during development. In this video we take a look at Zelda Ura, the expansion of Ocarina of Time on Nintendo 64. Pokemon RPG which was a home console version of the traditional pokemon games, like sun and moon or red and blue, but on the Nintendo 64 Disc Drive, Banjo Threeie of the Banjo Kazooie series, which was cancelled on the gamecube before being made for the Xbox 360, Metroid Dread on the 3DS & Finally, Earthbound 64 or Mother 3.

I personally believe Majoras Mask is basically Ura Zelda plus a small amount extra. The seven day cycle and the transformation masks were said to be part of ocarina of time originally, and I think it isn't a stretch to believe parts of the other temples and areas became the world of Majoras Mask. They probably were developing it as an expansion and just said "fuck it, let's just make this the sequel."

A guy in my gamer group programmed Star Fox 2 to a cart, and made custom boxes and labels. I purchased one from him. It's a huge change from the first.

Fun fact: Star Fox 2 was released as part of the Super Nintendo Classic and Metroid Dread is released for Nintendo Switch.

"Zelda Ura was the original idea for what OoT would have been" - Those without the DD would have experienced regular gameplay (excluding content that was removed before release). It was simply an expansion. The content that was originally planned is still debatable, but a lot of aspects have been confirmed to be thought of after the DD became a variable.

Don't forget about the Next Level Games pitched Metroid 3DS game too. It was supposed to be a 2D Metroid side scroller like the original, but with a steampunk art-style.

all these games than Nintendo has completed should just be released digital on eshop, people would eat that shit up, and if they are already completed and are released digitaly they have nothing to loose, with it being digital and having sat on a hardrive all this time it's not like they would loose money

there was master quest ocarina of time only came in Japan only on n64 dd, but there was master quest ocarina of time on bonus disc with ocarina of time with wind waker on gamecube

I don't really know that much about the Pokémon Stadium series, but I'm pretty sure it got an international release.
if you watch the video, I say the original pokemon stadium only released in japan. Part 2 was released in other countries as part 1. Part 3 was released as part 2.

What about X and Y? They used 3D models and the traditional Pokémon formula, and those games came out three years before Sun and Moon. They even contained an original story, world, characters, and Pokémon.

Sun and Moon didn't really have anything to make them more 3D than X and Y were, except maybe the removal of grid-based movement. There are many things in Sun and Moon that would be considered 2.5D elements, such as a fixed camera (albeit with many dynamic angles) and single-plane movement. Really the biggest difference between Sun/Moon and X/Y is the fact that the former use higher-detail models, but 3D is determined mostly by gameplay not graphics..
ChickenNoodleSeb The models used in the X and Y world are more like chibi versions of the characters, and the trainers in battle were represented by pictures. However, there is no denying that both games are similar.
The quality of the models/graphics doesn't affect whether or not the title is considered 3D. My statement stands that Pokémon X and Y are just as 3D as Sun and Moon.
17:17 "Super Mario RPG" didn't use the Super FX Chip. You're thinking of "SMW2: Yoshi's Island" which used the Super FX2 chip, which the cancelled (and recently uncancelled) Star Fox 2 would've used.
The guy who helped create the fx chip, would have no idea at all what secret projects nintendo would be working on. I'd rather believe MIYAMOTO, the person who would have worked on it than someone who just helped create a chip. lol Not an "opinion" I've read a lot of interviews with Miyamoto talking about the chip and his plans for a 3d mario game that was being worked on before super mario 64 that made use of the chip. They just never moved forward with the game because the n64 would have been a better option, but at one point yes, it was in development. For all of the idiots I keep replying too. The Super Mario FX is the "code name" for the FX chip used in games like Star Fox, Yoshi's Island and a few other games.However, Miyamoto also tried developing a 3D Mario game that made use of the chip as well. The game was cancelled during early production, but interviews exist where Miyamoto talks about the project. In some of them, he even mentions the engine and how the hardware wasn't sufficient to create a full game. So the idea was saved for a more powerful console. So yes, Super Mario FX is the code name for the chip, but a Mario game was also developed to use it which is also referred to as Super Mario FX.
In the video, they even mention one of these interviews where Miyamoto and Iwata discuss it. Several others also exist. He also mentions the developer who used to work with Nintendo who says it is the code name for the chip. So he proves both.
You should just let Holly Wolf do all the voice over work. She seems the most enthusiastic.
Zelda Ura should be reworked as a stand alone game like the scrapped Mystical Seed of Courage.Banjo Kazooie needs a comeback. There was a DS follow up I know. Star Fox 2 has been confirmed to be one of the games preloaded into the upcoming SNES mini! They should try and put it in the E shop for the Switch. Or make it a 3DS release! The Mother series should be rerelased for the Nintendo e shop or 3ds!
I dont think Master Quest is unfinished, if you watch reviews with Eiji Aonuma it makes more sense. Yes, sure, there were tons of things planned for Ura Zelda, but Aonuma didnt want to rehash Ocatina of Time but make something new aka Majora's Mask. Whatever work Aonuma made namely the new remixed dungeons were what was completed when he left the project. That is Master Quest and why Shigeru Miyamoto says that it is complete. For what it is, I agree. Sure we would of all wanted more extra items and dungeons, but more than likely those ideas got moved to Majora's Mask instead. Had they been in Ocarina of Time Master Qusst, Majora's Mask might of been a way different game.

Ura Zelda was used to make Ocarina of Time Master Quest, btw. =V
this is a common misconception. URA was not master quest. The Ura expansion had new dungeons, new items, new tunics, new npcs, new villages, a 7 day / night cycle, more side quests, etc... It was literally a second game added on to the first that used the same overworld, but with new areas. Master Quest ONLY remixed the dungeons. It had nothing new added aside from that.
You can find interviews, which he mentions in this video, where miyamoto is talking about all of the new dungeons, items, the time cycle and everything else. Miyamoto did say Ocarina of Time Master Quest was the Ura expansion, but that was just to shut fans up who were still asking for it.
You can even see images and video of parts of the expansion. Like the Ice Dungeon and Wind Dungeon.

Expansion and ocarina. It was the beta version of both.
MM used ideas from Ura, but so did WW, TP, SS & even BotW. Besides, Ura was to take place inside Hyrule, the same Hyrule as in OoT. MM took place in Termina....
