Yes, i was most excited to see how they'd incorporate the culture in a netflix show like this. I think they did well. UAE has an interesting blend of being very traditional but also not. Its always fascinates me
I reaaally enjoyed your review, you got me hooked on your channel! And yes, Simo and Hajar was a diabolical ticking bomb, they were crazy to even give it a try🤣🤣🤣
True, but at the same time Yasmin brought out a MUCH better side of Simo. He got mad that one time about her talking to other people and not claiming him. But outside of that, when he was in pods with Yasmin was the only time he came across like a sweet, genuine person rather than the brutal asshole he was to everyone else.
32:03 In the pods, Hajar told Simo that she wanted to, at her bachelorette party, "Do something crazy, something akin to having a last taste of cake before having to stick to a diet" implying she wanted to fool around with a guy. I'm an American, and even I thought that was a crazy thing for her to say, can't imagine how mad an Arab man would be!
So the cake was a metaphor She said she’d like to “have like one last piece of cake before going on a diet”…she definitely meant doing stuff with guys before getting married 🥶🥶🥶
Oh!! Now I get it! At first, I was like "why is he mad that she wants cake?" and I also thought "why is she talking about cake at a Bachelorette party?". Now that I know... She was DEFINITELY out of line!!
Lmao just finding this review and bookmarking it to watch later. I haven’t found many reviews on this show yet. A lot of the men are toxic on this show but it was nice to see the culture showcased, showed some of the good and bad tbh. Ammar and Simo were the villains of the show for me
As soon as I saw Chafiq (before he even spoke) he gave me player vibes. I wouldn’t take him serious. Both him and Dounia are immature so I don’t know if it will last if they got married. Noor and Mido was the most random pair 😂 Noor needs a rich man to take care of her (who’s not as clingy), and Mido needs a humble traditional wife who likes to show emotions. Ammar has control issues. Everything has to be his way. He’s sweet until you say something that makes him mad. I get that he’s traditional & believes the man should lead but a good leader listens to both sides before deciding. Safa and Mohammed (best couple). I think they’re a great match BUT I think Safa needs to travel less for work otherwise her marriage won’t work! How can you be a good wife and mother if you’re never home? It’s not appropriate. Simo is a walking red flag. From day 1 I don’t know why any of the girls liked him? How could they not see the warnings? He barely smiled and even when he was in a good mood he barely showed emotions 🚩He’s controlling and hot headed. Yasmine dodged a bullet! I’m glad she saw Simo’s true colours.
I still can’t believe she said that AND on an Arab show no less. LOL. No wonder he went on and on about it. He was doing too much too though but I get it😂
Honestly i feel bad for nour. You could tell she was edited to be seen as a bad guy straight out of an arab drama. Everyone hated her too much they over reacted. You could dislike someone but HATE them to that extent???
Hello regarding Nour if Mido left her well I don’t see why she needs to care about his where abouts lmao he wouldn’t even let her explain so I get that part from her but the rest is wild 😅😅😅 the whole thing was a joke 😂😂
Funny enough I didn't like Nour first because of her "feminists ruined everything" comment but I really liked her afterwards. She's a woman knowing that her beauty is her weapon and she uses it against these men, love it! Mido was shooting above his league and instead of stepping up, he crumbled and regressed to a little boy even more
Yes that comment was a lot to swallow and even though she's not for me, i respect that she knows herself and stayed true to herself the entire season. I rate that.
Upity-Amar Moh-definitely looks like Kal Penn Simo- is so weird and cruel, he made eating cake seem like going to the strip club in Miami for bachelorette party)👀
OOh that scares me cos i as far as i know (still on E6), they are complete opposites. Is Khateb going to change?! Is he an Ammar in camouflage?! Oh i don't think my heart can take that o...lol
Its weird becos i understand his perspective BUT he chose a modern adjacent woman and then tried to "break her down" to his willi, you know? There are women who will willingly be the type of wife he is looking for but he is attracted to an independent woman and then wants her to "conform"....like i said, weird.
I wish I could talk about this on my channel but no one would care. I liked seeing them in the pods, but with them not being allowed to be alone together, I just don't think Arab culture fits with this show By the end of ep 5half the couples quit and we know barely anything personal about the others, and absolutely NOTHING about how their personalities do and don't clash Compare how well we know Hannah and Nick to ANY couple on this show. They're not couples, they're just paired up singles and it doesn't work IMHO
Very different point of view. Appreciate it. Can't say i 100 agree though ( about the part of Arab Culture not fitting). I think it is good we see another Culture date in the style of LIB. Lets be honet, LIB USA is a full on trash show at this point (they may benefit from not telling us every darn thing ~ sorry but i really don't care about the details of what you and your "man" don't do in bed...lol). We are not there for connection, just dram with the US (granted, its entertaining) BUT the other cultures ( Japan, Brazil,Sweden, even UK) have given us more in terms of traditions and Culture. I love having all the countries and seeing how they navigate the concepts in their own Countries. I say talk about it from your perspective on your channel. You may be surprised how many of your subs would be into it ESPECIALLY because you are not focused on the drama but on the culture and not knowing the contestants by the end.
@@MrsDanji lol nah it's a right leaning poltical channel, I've tried they don't care about anything else 🤣🤣🤣 Ive tweeted probably close to 10k words on the season just comparing the cultures and the way things would play out if it were in America. By s7, American LIB has become a shell of itself, but the for the earlier season, as much as I enjoyed the pods, it was always essentially just background and I wanted to see okay, now that yall are on vacation together, even being in a fancy resort, it's the proximity and lack of solidarity that really brings out the drama of the experiment. I feel without that - and again I respect that they have a different culture - but they never got to know each other to the point of where I as viewer could be invested in their relationship. Idk things took a HARD turn for me during ep 5 so maybe you'll end up hating the rest of the season too 🤣
Yes! I see what you mean about knowing them enough to be invested. I literally liked the people i liked and not the couples ( if you know what i mean). I did finish, loved the wedding of Safa & Mo....took me back to my childhood and growing up in a Muslim state. The others were trash fires. It was almost like they were calling in the episodes by the end. I am excited to see how the Reunion will be handled.
Basra, Iraq. Safa is lovely and forgets that she is 37. If she wants chidren, the time is now and she needs a different job. That is just the reality of biological timing.
I really love this version of Love is blind. The immersion in their culture was really interesting and entertaining

Simo was so over the top. A mixture of a Disney villain, serial killer und princess - He was very entertaining, though 🤣🤣🤣
Omg the dentist...😮 nope . Lol Arab men are uber charming..until your married to them.😢 They invented love bombing!
😮 I watched in the original language and YES Karma said she also does entertain with belly dancing. Ammar didn’t like that for obvious reasons!
But the guy had other red flags for sure!
19:31 🤣🤣
Thanks for reviewing Habibi, couldn't find any. I really liked them not kissing. It gets to be too much on the US version!

I am SOOOOOO happy Yasmin cut off Simo! She was delightful and beautiful. Simo deserves the woman he got 😂
You said it!! They deserved each other. I wish they had stayed together a little longer and made each other even more miserable...LOL

OHHHH!!!! Becos its UAE, i NEVER even thought of that.
Now she effd up by saying that out loud. Like Read the room a.k.a COUNTRY girl! LOL
😂 and she meant it
I don’t know a man in any culture who would be OK with what she implied.

Simo is not only a red flag, he is the red flag. Or a total psycho. As we call it, where I'm from.
The only green flags..Khatab, Mohammed ✅
Walahi!! Really the cream of the crop
Thank you for reviewing this show!!!
