they are coming from a place of care and good heart. for example, my father abandoned me and I stopped talking to him for YEARS. I was also annoyed when people would tell me to talk to him, even if he is not talking to me. Now he is sick, alone, and I have a deep barrier because I didn’t speak to him all these years. Sometimes, it brings good to be the bigger person, even when your father was not. Which is why I think he said she will change her mind. She might not be ready now, but all we can do is pray that she will be one day insha allah.

I think Dounia is in her right to not want to speak about her father, I didn’t like the guy pushing it. The actual definition of forgiveness is to stop feeling angry or resentful toward someone. She has clearly forgiven her father. You can forgive a father figure for abandoning you and still not feel close to them. You don’t forgive someone who wasn’t around and then all of a sudden because you forgave them means you now just “know them” and are close to them. Relationships take time, trust, and vulnerability to build. Every father daughter relationship does not look the same, and she clearly has found a relationship dynamic that works for her and her father. She said clearly from the start… she didn’t want to talk about it, and he continued to press her rather than honoring what she said. I’m curious if that had more to do with his uncomfortable feelings of her not having a close relationship with her dad. Because we have these fixed images in our mind of what family looks like we think it only looks one way and that’s just not reality. This conversation was great, and that part was challenging to watch.
Eastern European here, Dounia was my favorite in the show.She’s smart and genuine and mature for her age.Please don’t push her to reconnect to her Dad.If he was not present in her life, he should have no saying in her adult life.Imagine they reconnect and he disappears again or rejects her..she’ll be heartbroken and have a deeper trauma.He should make efforts to be in her life and not the other way around. Also I think her Mam did a great job in raising and educated her and I understand their bond. While I do think that this may be a very very unpopular view, I genuinely believe they are right for each other. It's very obvious they've faced their fair share of challenges but have still chosen to put in the effort and make it work and despite the negativity that seems to surround their relationship I think their bond is authentic.They don’t gloss over their issues or try to present a picture-perfect image. We all have came across those social media couples talking about how life is sunshine and happiness when in reality that's far from the truth. I love the jumping back and forth from French to English to Arabic (and I learned two phrases, langue du bois and mes attends). I lived in Montreal for several years and people mix French and English there too. I LOVE Dounia's style. Her reveal dress and her reunion dress were so lovely and classy! All the people who criticize should think about their younger self or being filmed 24/7 if they are the same age. Everyone has blind spots, everyone has things to learn. I love that Chafic said he would not lose his temper and fight physically again and that he was in over his head at times. That shows maturity.
I think we should stop being biased towards one person such as "team Nour" or "team Dounia", or even bullying either of them in the comment section, that makes us stoop low. We should point out the wrong and right for either sides, rather than taking sides. I think both Nour and Dounia made mistakes, if I was Dounia I would feel uncomfortable with a girl flirting with my man and also feeling a sense of superiority in terms of beauty, however it does not justify the low behaviour towards Nour at the end, no one should belittle anyone to that extent. Agree, and as Asma pointed out in her podcast with Hikmat, Dounia never bullied Nour. It was Nour who repeatedly called Dounia "insecure" - both at the reunion and the resort, and Dounia had every right to speak up for herself. She is not insecure and she knows her worth. And she also has to have her fiancee's back - just as he had hers. I'm getting so fed up with, what seems like a co-ordinated campaign to bully Dounia and Asma while putting Nour on a pedastal because she was bullied by the men at the reunion.
I enjoyed this interview, but I’m confused-how exactly did Nour treat Mido so poorly? It feels like this narrative is being stretched too far. Not every relationship works out, and that’s okay. If they weren’t a perfect match, they simply weren’t. There doesn’t need to be a villain, just two people who didn’t align.

Love this couple, I hate the backlash they are receiving due to other people. They did not hide anything. The show gaved too much focus on Nour and victimize her too much. I understand Chafic can be a little hot temper but that doesn't have to do the way he respects and loves Dounia. Mido could have defended himself; these are just excuses because Mido is a man. He could express what he thought, and it was because of Chafic that the situation worsened. If he had let Mido defend himself, no one would have seen it as an exaggeration. Instead, he didn’t hold back and even attacked Nour’s appearance, while his own girlfriend does similar modifications to her face, but in a more subtle way. From the beginning, Chafic has been meddling in things that don’t concern him and starting to put Nour down. He attacked her, and she simply responded. The issue was between Nour and her ex-fiancé, but Chafic, a proud man who is attracted to Nour without wanting to admit it, got involved. In fact, the first time he saw Nour, he smiled at her widely. He claimed he was defending Mido, yet he teased Nour by saying, “We’ll find you a fiancé,” smiling. When she replied, “Don’t worry about me,” he answered, “I’m not worried, that’s clear,” still smiling. Chafic acts tough in front of the camera or around others, but when he’s alone with Nour, he becomes all smiles and watches her. He finds excuses because he’s irritated by the fact that Nour wants a wealthy man and wants to be treated like a princess. Yet, in the beginning, Nour liked Chafic and had never said anything against him. If he really wanted to defend his friend, he would have acted like a real man and spoken to Nour in private, especially since they already had a certain connection. I like the podcast and I love how we get to know Dounia and Chafic more ❤️ It’s just I didn’t like the part where the host made Dounia talk about her Dad which is a sensitive topic and she obviously was uncomfortable ( that’s how I felt) he could’ve changed the topic to another thing especially when she said that she doesn’t want to talk about it. The actual definition of forgiveness is to stop feeling angry or resentful toward someone. She has clearly forgiven her father. You can forgive a father figure for abandoning you and still not feel close to them. You don’t forgive someone who wasn’t around and then all of a sudden because you forgave them means you now just “know them” and are close to them. Relationships take time, trust, and vulnerability to build. Every father daughter relationship does not look the same, and she clearly has found a relationship dynamic that works for her and her father. She said clearly from the start… she didn’t want to talk about it, and he continued to press her rather than honoring what she said. I’m curious if that had more to do with his uncomfortable feelings of her not having a close relationship with her dad. Because we have these fixed images in our mind of what family looks like we think it only looks one way and that’s just not reality. This conversation was great, and that part was challenging to watch.
Eastern European here, Dounia was my favorite in the show.She’s smart and genuine and mature for her age.Please don’t push her to reconnect to her Dad.If he was not present in her life, he should have no saying in her adult life.Imagine they reconnect and he disappears again or rejects her..she’ll be heartbroken and have a deeper trauma.He should make efforts to be in her life and not the other way around.

While I do think that this may be a very very unpopular view, I genuinely believe they are right for each other. It's very obvious they've faced their fair share of challenges but have still chosen to put in the effort and make it work and despite the negativity that seems to surround their relationship I think their bond is authentic.They don’t gloss over their issues or try to present a picture-perfect image. We all have came across those social media couples talking about how life is sunshine and happiness when in reality that's far from the truth. I love the jumping back and forth from French to English to Arabic (and I learned two phrases, langue du bois and mes attends). I lived in Montreal for several years and people mix French and English there too. I LOVE Dounia's style. Her reveal dress and her reunion dress were so lovely and classy! All the people who criticize should think about their younger self or being filmed 24/7 if they are the same age. Everyone has blind spots, everyone has things to learn. I love that Chafic said he would not lose his temper and fight physically again and that he was in over his head at times. That shows maturity.
I think we should stop being biased towards one person such as "team Nour" or "team Dounia", or even bullying either of them in the comment section, that makes us stoop low. We should point out the wrong and right for either sides, rather than taking sides. Agree, and as Asma pointed out in her podcast with Hikmat, Dounia never bullied Nour. It was Nour who repeatedly called Dounia "insecure" - both at the reunion and the resort, and Dounia had every right to speak up for herself. She is not insecure and she knows her worth. And she also has to have her fiancee's back - just as he had hers. I'm getting so fed up with, what seems like a co-ordinated campaign to bully Dounia and Asma while putting Nour on a pedastal because she was bullied by the men at the reunion.
I enjoyed this interview, but I’m confused-how exactly did Nour treat Mido so poorly? It feels like this narrative is being stretched too far. Not every relationship works out, and that’s okay. And believe me my husband also pushed me into having a relationship with him at the beginning of our marriage . Mido could have defended himself; these are just excuses because Mido is a man. He could express what he thought, and it was because of Chafic that the situation worsened. If he had let Mido defend himself, no one would have seen it as an exaggeration. Instead, he didn’t hold back and even attacked Nour’s appearance, while his own girlfriend does similar modifications to her face, but in a more subtle way.
From the beginning, Chafic has been meddling in things that don’t concern him and starting to put Nour down. He attacked her, and she simply responded. The issue was between Nour and her ex-fiancé, but Chafic, a proud man who is attracted to Nour without wanting to admit it, got involved. In fact, the first time he saw Nour, he smiled at her widely. He claimed he was defending Mido, yet he teased Nour by saying, “We’ll find you a fiancé,” smiling. When she replied, “Don’t worry about me,” he answered, “I’m not worried, that’s clear,” still smiling.
Chafic acts tough in front of the camera or around others, but when he’s alone with Nour, he becomes all smiles and watches her. He finds excuses because he’s irritated by the fact that Nour wants a wealthy man and wants to be treated like a princess. Yet, in the beginning, Nour liked Chafic and had never said anything against him. If he really wanted to defend his friend, he would have acted like a real man and spoken to Nour in private, especially since they already had a certain connection. He could have told her directly that he didn’t like what was happening, and she would have been much more receptive, knowing it was him. But he can’t, because Dounia doesn’t want Chafic to talk to Nour. So he prefers to act tough and put her down. What immaturity!

I like the podcast and I love how we get to know Dounia and Chafic more ❤️ It’s just I didn’t like the part where the host made Dounia talk about her Dad which is a sensitive topic and she obviously was uncomfortable ( that’s how I felt) he could’ve changed the topic to another thing especially when she said that she doesn’t want to talk about it. Apart from that Dounia is an amazing person we can clearly see she had a pure heart God bless her ❤️

As a partner I get why Chafiq is curious and trying to be a do gooder by uniting Douniya with her dad - islamically it’s the right thing to do. Like whoever your mother is and however she raises you, Allah has still made it so that heaven is underneath her feet.
