Cool fact i noticed: the treasures of ruin and swords of justice perfectly match up with each other type-wise. The sword's fighting type obviously deals with the dark type, but each sword is countered by a tresuare's primary type (keldeo vs wo-chien, virizion and chien-pao, terrakion and ting-lu and cobalion and chi-yu)
I loved this video! Though, I do disagree about terapagos being a reference to the turtle with the world on its back. I'm pretty certain it's a reference to the sea turtle that carried Urashima Taro to the palace under the sea. The Urashima tale fits well with Violet's theme of the future, as the hero returns to his home after a century has passed. The mask dlc is clearly a reference to Momotarou, so it makes sense for both dlc to be tied to Japanese folktales
I actually didn't know the lakes the Lake Trio are at are actually also real world locations, I probably should have figured due to regions being inspired by real world locations, but that's a level of detail that's just really cool
Dialga is _technically_ the first Pokemon to get a Primal Reversion... if you could call it that, as Primal Dialga is closer to a Shadow Pokemon than it is a primal form. As a more concrete fact, it's also one of the few spinoff-exclusive forms. And I'm still furious that Origin Dialga doesn't reference Primal Dialga in any shape or form.

I mean that tail is a dead give away. Funny enough Squirtle and Wartortle also have design inspiration from that legendary turtle. Terapagos might have connection to two myths past terrapin starters have been based on. That is interesting to think about, and makes me love it.
Considering the word Tera means Earth, I think world turtle is the most likely factor, but multiple inspirations have contributed to a Pokémon’s design though.

Objects breaking and burning up in atmospheric entry are caused by the rapid compression of gasses. I believe it's more than likely that Gamefreak know that fans would be upset if they could not receive a shiny so they put them in even where it doesn't make sense. There can only be one original dragon, and thus one Zekrom and Reshiram. I believe a better lore explanation is the classic, "each save file is it's own universe" line.

Terapagos is not a world turtle. it's based on the Dragon Palace 'maned turtle' folklore story where someone goes to a palace at the bottom of the ocean after saving the maned turtle from being bullied. The protagonist receives a Jewel Box that contains their life span, as when they exit the palace 300 years have passed. Despite warnings, they open the box anyway and die after aging up 300 years.

There are more than 1 of each legendary pokemon canonically in pokemon. This has already been stated. Hell Arceus makes more of the creation trio whenever they are caught by trainers or other things happen. There is cannonically more than 1 Arceus as well, it literally tells you that the form you catch is just but a small fraction of itself (don't remember which game that was in tbh).
In Gen 2 when you transfer Pokemon from Gen 1, the item that they are listed to have 100% chance of holding when caught are held by the Pokemon when traded into Gen 2 from Gen 1
I like legendary Pokemon that are shown to have populations and are not one-of-a-kind, just really rare, like the Latis, and Lugia which is shown in the anime to have a baby stage of life.

The gen 9 legendaries are more similar to gen7 than you might think at first. Compare the ruin pokemon to the tapus. Both are 4 pokemon. All of them share a typing fairy for tapus dark for ruin pokemon. All of them have similar abilities all tapus setup a terrain while the ruin pokemon lower a particular stat. They have the same signature move just named different. Ruination vs Nature's Madness. Ultra beasts can also be compared to paradox pokemon in that they all have the same ability like ultra beasts
That's my headcanon too for the Tapus and the Treasures of Ruins. They're supposed to be counterparts to the Kami quartet but I couldn't see any connection.
Honestly, until I watched these videos I had no clue Kubfu and Urshifu were legendaries, so I kept him on my main team for a long time since I did the Isle of Armor DLC in the middle of my Gym Challenge to train a little, I even evolved Kubfu before the last two gyms and even took him to the League.

Terapagos is not a world turtle. it's based on the Dragon Palace 'maned turtle' folklore story where someone goes to a palace at the bottom of the ocean after saving the maned turtle from being bullied. The protagonist receives a Jewel Box that contains their life span, as when they exit the palace 300 years have passed. Despite warnings, they open the box anyway and die after aging up 300 years.

There are more than 1 of each legendary pokemon canonically in pokemon. This has already been stated. Hell Arceus makes more of the creation trio whenever they are caught by trainers or other things happen. There is cannonically more than 1 Arceus as well, it literally tells you that the form you catch is just but a small fraction of itself (don't remember which game that was in tbh).
In Gen 2 when you transfer Pokemon from Gen 1, the item that they are listed to have 100% chance of holding when caught are held by the Pokemon when traded into Gen 2 from Gen 1
Lugia also came with its own signature move as well, aeroblast, at least until Gen 4 I'm pretty sure :)
I like legendary Pokemon that are shown to have populations and are not one-of-a-kind, just really rare, like the Latis, and Lugia which is shown in the anime to have a baby stage of life.

The gen 9 legendaries are more similar to gen7 than you might think at first. Compare the ruin pokemon to the tapus. Both are 4 pokemon. All of them share a typing fairy for tapus dark for ruin pokemon. All of them have similar abilities all tapus setup a terrain while the ruin pokemon lower a particular stat. They have the same signature move just named different. Ruination vs Nature's Madness. Ultra beasts can also be compared to paradox pokemon in that they all have the same ability like ultra beasts
That's my headcanon too for the Tapus and the Treasures of Ruins. They're supposed to be counterparts to the Kami quartet but I couldn't see any connection.
Honestly, until I watched these videos I had no clue Kubfu and Urshifu were legendaries, so I kept him on my main team for a long time since I did the Isle of Armor DLC in the middle of my Gym Challenge to train a little, I even evolved Kubfu before the last two gyms and even took him to the League.
